My pup absolutely loves this place! Now it does get busy when there are birthday parties and meetups so if you are nervous with large crowds just call and ask before going and they will let you know! They have alcoholic beverages for the pawrents meaning you must be 21+ to enter the building! Ranger always has a good time and there is something called Paw Patrol. They will read the dogs body language to make sure there are no fights and we didn't have any issues while we were there! Food Trucks will come by from time to time the best place to see any events or the food schedule is on their Instagram account. The best time is Christmas when they have the Grinch stop by! Decided to take my 10 month old Frenchie out for some fun and socializing. After some Yelp research, we decided on Pups Pub. We were already familiar with the location, as the bar used to be The Bungalow... one of our favorites, so we knew what to expect. Parking was RUFF, as there's really not many spots. I circled around the tiny lot for about 20-30 mins before I spotted someone leaving and squeezed into their spot. I drive a jeep and kept considering parking on the curb behind the Pups Pub jeep, but didn't want to risk getting towed. Upon entrance, we showed proof of our pups vaccinations and paid the fee ($15) for our dog day pass. As soon as we walked in, about 8 dogs surrounded my pup to say hello. I was definitely nervous at first, but an employee came over, asked me to unleash my dog, and he kept an eye on him for a while to make sure he settled in. Thankfully, it wasn't long before my guy was running around with the pack of big dogs, zooming from inside to outside... up, down, left, right, and everywhere in between. The indoor/outdoor vibe is perfect for a pup pub like this, with Astro turf throughout and large fans providing a nice breeze. We posted up at the bar (lots of tv's), got some high noons, and let our pup do his thing. Employees kept a good eye on the dogs, cleaning up any "accidents" and keeping water bowls full. Why four stars? Overall we thought this place was very nice and I think their drinks menu is very creative. I think after an hour and a half of running around and swimming at a nearby dog beach our dog with a little too pooped to play with the other dogs but the dogs had friendly interactions and could run around with each other which is very nice. I love the idea that the dogs can run around and be themselves while the owner can sit and sip on some drinks. I will say the play area did not really have a lot for the dogs to do rather just to run around so I didn't see too much of the dogs could do rather than just have free roam of the place. I like that the place is willing to clean up and they have tons of water buckets around for the dogs to drink out of. This is our first time at a dog bar and it was a pretty nice atmosphere. Really neat and cozy place. I recommend it for dogs with CHILL temperaments. If you have an Aussie like me who likes to run around, you'll sure get your steps in There are a lot of corners and hidden areas, so monitoring a dog who is constantly on the move is not easy. I wish the space were laid out in a more open way. Because of the layout, it seems that more calm-natured dogs are present. My visit on a Saturday left my Aussie without a pup to play with because the temperaments didn't click. Because of this, Two Shepherds Taproom is a much better fit for a high-energy dog. read more

Currently on a quest to explore all the dog bars in the tampa Bay Area and this one did not disappoint. We went for "yappy hour" which featured $3 wells, $4 wines, and $3 domestic drafts on Friday until 7 PM...can't beat that! The location is in soho a bit down the strip from the main action so you can partake in or avoid that craziness however you choose. The parking lot is pretty small so keep that in mind for busier days. The building has cute signage both inside and out. When you enter there is a cover charge for dogs which is typical for dog bars. I believe here was ~10 or if you plan on coming regularly you can opt for a membership package. Entry was easy enough, come with vaccine records as instructed on their website. My doggy is a bit shy around big dogs so we snagged a table in the corner that way she could sit protected and wander out as she chose. Love that there is an inside area so humans and dogs alike can sit in the AC/rain protection. The inside and outside is covered in nice turf and they always have employees monitoring for areas needing cleanup/watching the rough housing. Service at the bar was great. We enjoyed the card/board games they had available to play (what do you meme, etc.). Looking forward to coming back for one of their events like trivia or a sports game. read more

My friend hosted a birthday party for her pup here, which is such a cool thing that Pups Pub does! It was my first time going to a dog bar, so I was excited to check it out. Overall, it was a fun concept. I have a sighthound/whippet, so he can never be off leash. I'm always nervous about bringing him new places when I don't know exactly what the exclosure looks like. I was relieved to know that the enclosure looked very secure and that there is a double gate at the entrance. However, it seems like some guests would forget to close the first gate as they were coming and going. This left only one gate that could be pushed open by one of the dogs accidentally. My suggestion is for one of the staff members to stand at the entrance at all times and really ensure that both gates are always securely closed, especially since Pups Pub is located right on a busy road! The bar was also fairly crowded with almost no one wearing masks, so it doesn't seem like they enforce mask wearing. I definitely want to come back and check it out again once the pandemic settles down, because it really is a fun concept! I love being able to bring my pup places with me, especially to a place that specifically welcomes dogs and has their safety in mind. read more

First off, it is south Tampa so you need to remember that parking is garbage. That being said I had to park across the street and run across a busy highway just to get to the place. When I got inside I had taken a picture of my car and asked the people at the counter if that spot was okay or would I get towed. They said I should probably be fine, not a comfort but I went with it. The greeter at the entrance was super nice! He was friendly and ran down the process of the park very clearly. On top of that, it was actually pretty affordable compared to most dog bars I have been too. When you get inside though, you can really smell the dog piss. I do not think they have any kind of drainage system under floor so it must just be getting collected into the fake grass everywhere. On the plus side though, they have employees everywhere so that if your dog does go number 2, they pick it up where as at most dog bars its up to the owner and many owners tend to not see it happened so they don't know it was from their pet. The best part is really that it is full liquor. Many dog bars are just beer so if you are looking for something a little strong this might be up your alley. read more

Pups pub has become our regular go to during the week and weekends! The owners and bartenders are absolutely awesome. It's an open concept with a/c and an outdoor area for the pups. The employees are super quick to clean up and watchful over the dogs playing. There's plenty of cocktails and beer to sip while your dog plays and runs around. There's usually food trucks which have always been fun and delicious. Our dog cannot contain his excitement when we pull up and he always has a great time. I feel super safe bringing my dog, the employees are really great about cleaning and making sure all the dogs are safe and comfortable. We became annual members our second visit. Took my pup here for the first time to get some energy out. Very limited parking area. We had to drive around the block 2 or 3 times to snag a spot when someone left. Make sure you bring proof of vaccinations upon arrival! You can pay a daily, monthly or yearly membership fee to grant access. All the flooring both indoor and out is artificial turf so your pup never gets dirty yet can use the restroom as they please. There is one main bar that is half indoor and outside. We sat at the bar (plenty of seating and tables both inside and out) and had a drink while the dogs roamed freely. There are TVs and a few arcade games throughout the facility. One disappointment was that they do not offer any (human) food whatsoever. There was a BBQ food truck parked on the side which was very limited menu wise. My husband and I recently took our 1 year old dog to Pups Pub! We were so pleasantly surprised! When you first arrive there is a little window to your right to pay which is not necessarily noticeable right away. This is where you give information about your dog and pay for your dogs entrance fee. They did a great job of having multiple gates with latches at the front of the complex so that dogs don't escape. Once inside both indoor and outdoor areas are accessible for the dogs and completely covered in Astroturf. The most surprising part was when your dog uses the restroom (which is bound to happen) the employees were very quick to jump to the rescue and clean up any messes! At most dog bars and other places we have been with our dog it is the expectation that the owners picks it up or cleans up any messes. The workers at Pups Pub reassured us that this was part of their job! It was so sweet! They had a full bar including liquor but no food available on site. However, it was very easy to order Uber eats right to where we were. They also have many Instagram worthy photo spots throughout the location. I've been here before with my senior dog without incident and enjoyed the time. I decided to bring my 4.5 month old pup (30lbs) here and the bartenders dog Vader decided to continuously go after my dog. The staff couldn't have cared less. Literally. I voiced my concern multiple times and even said I was going to leave if my dog was going to keep being targeted and the bartender continued to just call her dog which didn't listen in the least. He bit my dog and my dog ran across the bar screaming and holding his back leg up. He cried for at least a minute while I checked him over. The bartender then said "they are just playing" I said "then what's wrong with my puppy? Why is he screaming and not using his leg?" The lack of give a shit by staff was mind blowing. My dog now has a cut under his eye that is swollen and is scratched and scraped up. She reiterated that her dog was "just playing and he's just a puppy" (this dog was not a puppy) but this was not playing. Snapping, baring teeth, lunging and BITING is not play. And if that's how your dog plays maybe don't bring it to a dog friendly bar where people come to have a good time, relax and let their dogs play. It's sucks that there is a policy about dogs acting like this being asked to leave and it doesn't apply to the staffs pets. This didn't happen on the property but feel the owner deserved a full 5 star recommendation for how he handled the situation. He was supportive of his staff; as any good leader should be. Once had a monthly membership to this location. Cost for two dogs was $45 but range up a monthly charge lower than that. Then emailed to cancel once I wasn't frequently going anymore. Emailed to cancel. Owner called to personally say we can continue to give you the discounted monthly rate. Unfortunately, I agreed and then the next three months I found that I was being charged $60 a month with no reason or notice. This time I went personally and cancelled but wanted a refund. Spoke to Camden a new GM for the location I thought I was all set when he agreed something wrong happened with the account and then convinced me he will go ahead and fix it. He gave me his business card information and informed me I should be getting an email with photos of the account and a description for their finance department to help me out. That was in September and there is still no solution or contact. I have reached out twice and to say the least Pups Pub is unorganized and likes to lie to their customers. I write this to see if they'll reach out and finally resolve my situation before going to the Better Business Bureau. read more

My first and only visit to Pups Pub did not meet my expectations. I'm new to Florida and am used to a much different experience with dogs in bars. The place was cute and the woman who checked me in was nice, but that's where my positive comments end as I felt unwelcome from the second I stepped I. First, there were barely any covid safety measures in place. It was crowded, no one in masks and all clustered in groups. I only saw employees in masks. Second, the parking situation need a lot of work. Third, there seemed to be no sort of limit to the number of dogs of all sizes allowed to roam as they pleased. The number of dogs there running around unattended did not make me comfortable. Finally, before I even got in, their "security guard" was giving me a hard time. And continued to follow me around and making comments about my dog. My dog is 20 pounds. I was asked to leave because after about 3 times of groups of about 4 LARGE dogs circled mine, mine got nervous and barked. Long story short-if your dog needs a minute to adjust to the setting of a massive dog gang, they will not welcome you here. read more

First off I want to say the idea of this bar is awesome. We first got there and the employees were awesome, so helpful and friendly. I will say the second you walk through the first gate you get a strong urine stench. It was quite a bit hectic and after our first drink we were ready to leave because of how overwhelmed we were by the other dogs. My small dog is very socialized with both large and small dogs and as soon as we got there she was quickly cornered by a group of large dogs and freaked out. It was very unorganized in terms of small and large dogs associating. My dog was so nervous she started immediately shedding. Good concept for the bar but definitely not well thought out. Pups Pub is by far hands down the best dog bar you could possibly bring your dog too. The atmosphere and staff are amazing. Service is prompt and always served with a smile, the staff's love for the dogs as well is unmatched compared to other dog bars I've been to. For example one day my dog Penny (a 14 pound frenchie) was being pinned down by a much larger dog, who didn't realize his size difference while playing. Within seconds the pup patroller was there breaking up the dog from pinning Penny before I had even noticed. Just knowing that any potential situation will be handled promptly and efficiently right away is the comfort that is rarely found but is definitely found in abundance at Pups Pub.
