I rented this place for my daughter Sweet 16. When we got there to decorate, the manager was…read moreoutside fixing his car. The place was dirty. We had to mop and sweep before starting. Also they gave us the wrong table covers and he was nasty to us when he had to get the right ones. After there for a while decorate. The manager walks in with 2 families to look at the place. We have all our personal stuff and our party decorations everywhere. He has people just walking around withouto him planning their party touching our stuff. And commenting on how we were doing it. It made all of us feel uncomfortable. Very unprofessional. My family was very unhappy since they were taking pictures of all of us also. Which is an invasion of our privacy. We rented the place. It was our time there. I wouldn't have minded if he was there, he is the renting manager. That night it rained, the roof leaked and almost damaged all our food. We talked to him about all this the Monday after party. He said, I'm working on fixing it. But, how about our party. He also said a racial remark. Your kind of people. Because we feel like we were not treated fairly. Which was uncalled for. We just wanted to be treated fairly. My husband told him, " you only meet my wife. She is Puerto Rican, but I'm white, just like you. So I don't know what kind of people you are talking about"., Now, after the party. He is refusing to give me back the deposit that is owed to me. We made it work for our daughter. But, we do not recommend this place. We don't even want our deposit back anymore. We just don't want anyone to be treated that way. He was so nice until he got our money. Then you are on your own. We rented this place last year. It was paid by February this year. I gave them a zero.

When I called a lady had answered the phone and started quoting me different prices ,when I had question that prices that I was previously quoted and that was advertised on their brochure and website were different from what she was quoting me was not the prices as stated on both their business website and brochure. I did asked if the prices had recently changed she never answered that question. She only stated that it seems like I would be happy elsewhere. Unaware that she had hung up the phone, I was apologizing to her about me asking if prices had recently changed until I realized it was silent on the other end. I called back 2 more times from my phone number and my daughters phone and she sent straight to voicemail. I have never been retreated in such an unprofessional manner that it completely has made me change my mind about having my wedding here. All of this because I question if their prices had recently changed. If you're going to advertise prices on your business, brochure and have rental managers quote one price then you should honor that price. If it had recently change then say I apologize we need to up date our advertising and stated that as well.

Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing in several ways. While we were in the room, there was painting being done nearby, and the fumes were extremely strong. When we called the front desk, we were initially told no painting was occurring, only to later return and find wet paint signs posted. We also had maintenance issues in the room, including a toilet paper holder that was not attached to the wall and a shower that took over 20 minutes to even get warm. We understand this is a historic building, but we did not experience these kinds of issues during prior stays. Additionally, the dining room appeared to have only one server working. She was absolutely wonderful and did her best, but it was clear she was stretched too thin to provide attentive service to all guests. Overall, we still appreciate the character and location of the hotel, but this stay fell short of the experience we were expecting based on our past visits.

There is no room service. While you can order food online from the restaurant, you're required to go down to the lobby to pick it up yourself. On top of that, there is no food available after 10 p.m. The "all-day menu" advertised online is misleading, as it's actually only available during lunch and dinner hours, with no clear times listed anywhere. There's also no ice service as advertised on the property. You have to go searching for it yourself on specific floors (the 4th or 6th). I requested extra pillows at the time of booking, and that request was never accommodated. The building is located on a very busy street, and the noise was constant throughout the night. Between traffic and garbage trucks beeping around 4 a.m., getting a good night's sleep was difficult. The one and ONLY bright spot of the entire stay was the valet attendant, who was incredibly friendly and had a great attitude; easily the best part of the experience. Overall, this stay was a huge waste of money and fell FAR short of the service and comfort I associate with Hilton. I will NOT be staying here again, and you should consider a different establishment if you're looking for a truly comfortable and service oriented stay. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

Maybe it hurt that we spent the night in a modern boutique hotel on the beach the night before, and it was clear that we took a step backward in quality with this one. All of the little things were just dinky: off-white light switches, popcorn ceiling, a painfully slow and bumpy elevator, etc. The pillows were the worst kind: small squares. You had to pay $10 a night for parking. In Lakeland. Let me say that again: you had to pay $10 a night to pay for parking in Lakeland, Florida. That blew my mind. I was ready to write a 2-star review, but I will admit that the bed was more comfortable than I thought it would be. So overall, it was fine, especially for one night. But would I rush to stay here again? Nah.

We were able to use whatever vendors we wanted as long as they were licensed and insured. The space is large and we divided the main space into two separate rooms using pipe and draping to keep the ceremony area separate from the dining area. They have a nice bar area and prep kitchen making it a lot easier for caterers. They have a courtyard also that can serve as the ceremony area if preferred. We used that area for our cocktail hour. They were responsive, articulate, and able to answer whatever question we threw at them. Additionally, they have a bride and groom suite, making it super easy to get dressed at the venue. We highly recommend this venue as they could accommodate everything we needed for our daughter's wedding.

After the ceremony on one side, we adjourned to the fenced courtyard for a coffee break and appetizers while the wedding party took photos inside. The courtyard has string lights and plenty of space for the ~125 guests to mingle. Once we returned inside, the ceremony space became the dance floor and we enjoyed a buffet-style dinner at the tables. There's so much space inside that there are so many options for your event. Mostly plain brick walls so the event will be what you make it to be!
