He had a broken leg at 10 weeks old and could not walk or put weight on it for 9 weeks and so his start was a little unconventional in socialization. I know he gets his fair share of play and what puppy doesn't like play? Since I did travel for work a great deal and as Covid subsides, my travel will start to come back. My pup has stayed overnight and I feel super confident as a worried Mom that he is well taken care of during his stay.

The daily schedule allows for group play and indoor rest. The staff evaluates the dogs' personalities, size, and energy levels before putting them in a group. Playtime includes best friends, lots of cuddles and kisses, pools in the summer, and always playscapes. They go out anywhere between 6-8 times a day, with breaks in their air conditioned suites. The building is super nice, very new, and the play areas have K9 grass that keeps their paws nice and clean. I especially like that it is hosed every night. BTW there's a groomer onsite! Just a heads up -- it's hard to see the marquis from the 1st street entrance. You really need to know what you're looking for! April and I give Pups and Paws 4 paws up!

I was happy to hear that the play groups are sorted by dog size and temperament to ensure that everyone would get along. The staff is so warm and friendly. You can tell they are dog people! I knew my boys were in good hands and it took a lot of stress of my mind while on vacation. I LOVE getting to see all of the pictures that they post daily on Facebook. Seriously they're so cute and funny - you can see the dogs personalities in the pics and to me that means they are comfortable and happy. Transparency was a big element for me to try this place out for the first time. They have published policies on their website about what they will do if your dog were to get hurt on accident and I really appreciated that. There is really nothing negative that I have found about this place! I recommend bringing your furry children there.

Camp BowWow has easily accessible indoor and outdoor playrooms. This allows your pups to run free and not be confined, which is a HUGEEE PLUS for us! At our last daycare, they were anxious, scared, and had slobber all over them. This time, happy, excited, and absolutely no saliva on them! We have 2 anxious boys who have different needs: one needs his naps and alone time, while the other needs to be with less aggressive dogs. A few notes: one day of daycare runs for about $26 (per dog), the location is located in an inconspicuous location, & in addition to the usual spay/neuter requirements, a quick release collar and nametag must be on your pups upon entry.

I'm hoping this review saves someone else the time and money…read more Our usual boarding place was full for the holiday, so I reluctantly looked for alternatives. When I called to schedule an evaluation, the manager (Jennifer, I believe) strongly encouraged me to go ahead and book the holiday dates. In hindsight, this was likely just to secure our money (more on their refund policy in a moment). I specifically asked if my deposit would be refunded if my dog didn't pass the evaluation and was told yes. What was not made clear to me over the phone: they do not issue refunds. Ever. They only "credit" your account for future services. I wouldn't mind this if I were already a client, but I've never sent my dog here, and at this point he hadn't even been evaluated. About an hour after booking the evaluation and boarding (and putting down deposits for both), I found reviews on Yelp and Reddit, and a news article, stating that a dog had died here due to alleged negligence about a year ago. Out of safety concerns, my partner immediately called to cancel everything. Only then were we fully informed of their real refund policy and told that our $600+ deposit would not be returned, but instead would sit as a "credit" on an account for a facility we would never send our dog to after what I learned. And when we brought up the incident, the business placed the blame entirely on the dog owner. Let me be clear: I am not posting this because of my safety concerns or the alleged incident. I'm posting this because I truly feel we were scammed. They intentionally avoided explaining their refund policy over the phone to secure payment from us. I feel completely taken advantage of. The Acre never clearly disclosed their refund policy when speaking to me and made no effort to ensure I understood it before booking. If you're considering the Acre, please make sure they provide full, upfront transparency around their refund policy before you hand over any money. This entire experience has been an absolute nightmare. And no, my credit card company was not able to dispute the charge.

We are responsible for speaking on their behalf. I was a customer of The Acre over the course of the month of June 2024. I chose them based on their google reviews, followed their suggestions for onboarding, and ultimately lost our dog due to my decision to place her in their care. My experience with the staff at The Acre has been distressing. They have proven to be more concerned with maintaining their rating on this site than they are with admitting and correcting the wrongs that ended my precious dog's life. Barret and Madelyn (who run The Acre) have not been able to tell me when Wendy went missing or from where on the property. They have placed the blame for this event on an anonymous scapegoat, shirking any responsibility themselves. I believe that every action they've taken to find Wendy has been in their own self-interest, informed especially by the way they are handling deeply justified, relevant, and necessary criticism of their safety protocols. Need I remind you, my dog is dead and they were the last people to see her. If I were them, I would not spend my energy attempting to hide this fact from the public, but working to drastically raise the standard of safety at The Acre. They put on a good show, but that is all it is- a show. It is my strong opinion that The Acre is not a safe place to leave your animal. I wish desperately that I had taken a more critical eye to this place and the people who run it before leaving my dog with them, and I beg you to do the same.

When we took a tour (just call, and they will let you take a look at the facility before hand) of Paws Landing, we immediately felt great! We had our puppy for an half day "evaluation" with Durenda, which also made us feel at ease. She is marvelous!!! When we picked her up from that, she went over everything she did, and how she thought our puppy would do. They had her in a small yard first and let our puppy feel safe before they had her with the other dogs. I really like too, how they have the dogs separated into "small dogs", " large dogs" and "very active dogs". She has a great team working with her, watching over them, and most importantly taking care of them all day. They will always send you a text and email to confirm your reservation, which is great. They go inside and outside to play all day. If they go "all day" they will get a 2-hour rest, so they get a break from all the fun! But, believe me, when you pick your dog, they will be tired when they get home, which is "good thing"! Pam will send you pictures later via text of your dog, which is great to see at the end of the day. Now, that my dog has gone for awhile, she gets excited when we get there, and she is excited to see Pam and her team when I drop her off. Look no further for a great place for "doggy day care", Pam and her team will take VERY GOOD care of them, like they were one of their own!!!

Dr. Rob walked me through his treatment rationale. We had a real discussion about the best course of treatment instead of the typical take-it-or-leave-it approach you get at most facilities. Dr. Rob performed oral surgery to remove several of Reishi's teeth. It was the first major surgery we had experienced with her. He was extremely patient with our questions, took wonderful care of her, and guided us through the entire process. Reishi healed very quickly and had no postoperative complications, which we were especially grateful for after hearing about friends whose pets experienced infections and other issues following similar procedures elsewhere. Recently, Reishi had a cancer scare after an alarming initial assessment at an emergency vet. We were quite stressed. When we brought her to see Dr. Rob, he first acknowledged what we had been through and made us feel heard and cared for before discussing the next steps. He even emailed us with test results and next steps while he was on a family vacation, which showed us how deeply he cares about his patients. Fortunately, further testing showed that Reishi did not have cancer. Going through such a stressful experience felt much more manageable knowing that Reishi was under Dr. Rob's care. He is compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in both his patients and their families. Unfortunately, we are moving out of state and will have to find a new veterinarian. We truly hope we can find a clinic as wonderful as ATX Animal Clinic. It is the best veterinary clinic we have ever had, and we are incredibly grateful to Dr. Rob and the entire team.

As soon as I entered, the older gentleman behind the counter looked directly at me and then immediately turned away without saying a word. He wasn't helping anyone at the time. I walked around the store for a while and noticed a young woman cleaning items nearby. Not once did she greet me or ask if I needed help. When I was looking at the driftwood display, she walked by, so I asked a question. She gave me what felt like a dirty look, gave a very quick answer, and walked away. I initially thought maybe she was busy helping other customers, but that didn't seem to be the case. What made the experience worse was what happened next. While I was still browsing near the entrance, several other customers walked in. Every single one of them was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I hate to even bring this up, but it left me wondering why my experience was so different. I'm a Hispanic male with tattoos, and every other customer who was greeted appeared to be white with no visible tattoos. I truly hope that wasn't the reason, but I honestly can't think of another explanation for the difference in treatment. Either way, it was disappointing. I had specifically chosen to visit a local specialty shop because I wanted the advice and expertise that comes with it. Instead, I left feeling unwelcome and will likely just go to a big box store instead--something I was hoping to avoid. I hope this isn't the normal experience for customers, but it was certainly mine today.

From the second we arrived, Dr. Pearson and the entire care team--Megan, Ethan, and Nicole (the CEC)--were absolutely incredible. They provided top-tier medical care for our girl, but what I appreciated most was how they handled my wife and me. We were in a total state of panic, and they stayed calm, kept us informed, and treated us with so much empathy. It's rare to find a team that can balance high-level emergency medicine with such genuine bedside manner. Dr. Pearson is a total pro, and the nursing staff made us feel like our pup was their only priority. If you're in the Austin area and find yourself in a pet emergency, this is the only place I'd trust.

Kayla was so sweet! She took amazing care of Turbo and sent so many updates and photos. He looked SO happy and relaxed. She really put my mind at ease with his first home boarding experience. She administered his heart worm pill and even texted me to see if he needed a special snack with it. She took such good care of him and we did a meet and greet with her 2 female dogs. She let me stay for quite a long time til I felt comfortable leaving him. Turbo guards food and she made the necessary accommodations and there was not a single tiff! She also let him sleep in the bed he was spoiled rotten and I will absolutely be using her again. If I could give 10 stars I would!!! So happy with this experience. read more

Initially I had a hard time coordinating with Lisa including canceled and delayed meet and greets and not receiving email docs needed until days later. I made it work because she had great reviews. It was a holiday weekend and I had to call my vet the morning of drop-off to get vax records for one of my two dogs, which I informed Lisa of. We agreed we'd chat in the morning around 9 to finalize details once I'd gotten the docs from the vet. She proceeded to send me multiple, essay-length emails that night between 4 and 6am about how she couldn't take Desi without docs and how she felt I didn't understand, and she couldn't "trust" me. She also accused me of not finalizing drop off or pickup details, which I had already discussed with her. Her messages were erratic and repetitive, and almost aggressive and condescending, referencing "boundaries and communication" while she was the one emailing me in the middle of the night! When she could've just called me the night before if she was so concerned. Even when I sent the records to her in the morning, she continued to berate me about her intake process over text, accusing me of not sending them even when I told her I did. I have had many sitters in various cities and never experienced anything like this. Thankfully a neighbor volunteered to watch them. Needless to say, this was all incredibly stressful the day of an important work trip. I was really astounded by this level of customer service as a former small business owner, and would never want to leave my dogs with someone like this.

Jen came highly recommended by a close friend who knew Jen from her work with a local shelter. What I signed up for was a great dog walker. What I got was that and so much more! My dogs are a bit neurotic, I must admit. They dislike bikes, squirrels, cats and other dogs. I was a nervous have someone else walk them but I was very reassured by Jen's experience with difficult dogs. She met with me and met my pups beforehand as well to make sure it was a good fit. To say hiring Jen and Lotus to help me with my dogs was one of the best things I ever did for them may sound like an exaggeration, but it is not. They are so happy when I get home and are much, much better on leash now and are less reactive on walks. Jen also basically crate trained one of my dogs, who previously hated his crate! Now I catch him hanging out in there on his own. I can't recommend Jen enough. What you get with her services is not only dog walking but someone who truly cares about your pups. Plus her billing is easy and straightforward. I even get photos of my dogs from each visit :) In short, my dogs are more happy at the end of the day because of her!

I really wanted to like this company's services, but I didn't find that they were detail oriented…read moreenough for my cat and I. An important message that I sent was missed, which led to my cat's waste collecting over a period of days in the tub, and with my cat eventually peeing on my bed (he is beyond hygienic and selective with where he goes to the bathroom). Even with the missed message, I would think their noses would lead them to the tub? It absolutely stank when I got home (there was also dried cat vomit in the bathroom - I just live in a studio). And I then had to spend hours washing everything on my bed, getting Urine Destroyer, etc... really not ideal after getting home from a trip. This is in addition to lights being left on, pill pocket pack not sealed after use, and litter and garbage preferences not followed. Also, I would have preferred they contacted me when my cat decided not to eat his medicine the first day, than to decide how to handle it on their own, although their idea wasn't a bad one. They are perfectly nice people but I would say that if your cat requires anything beyond basic care (throw food in a bowl and scoop box), look elsewhere. Details and communication are important. I communicated some of this to the company and they offered me a free visit in the future, which I thought was a bit presumptuous. They did play with him and actually spend time with him (instead of feeding and dashing), which is something I do appreciate.

We have one cat who we love dearly, and one visit they completely left our cat endangered and the owner of this company (which says a lot about the company itself) took ZERO accountability, not only that we found our account inactivated by them which means they are refusing us service after a mistake they made- and we can no longer even contact them. They left our Patio balcony door- we live on the third floor in an apartment WIDE open with our cat who can clearly open the screen door that was slightly open. That is SO dangerous. We have a ragdoll who don't have much reflexes and he could fall and die from such a height, or even escape or jump out and seriously injure himself. They left the door open and left the keys inside with no way to get back in while we were on vacation. Then we got one text saying they left this door open and we were shocked when we checked our pet camera. This is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. The only apology we got from this horrendous accident was "i apologize." She didn't call once, and if we hadn't seen this text message promptly i feel as though she wouldn't even have cared and went on their day. DO NOT TRUST YOUR BELOVED PET WITH THESE PEOPLE. You've been warned!!! This was over memorial day weekend and nobody was even in the leasing office to help which is super scary. Bad experience overall from a pet sitting company we've been trusting for awhile now which is so disappointing. I can see now they don't care about pets.

I cannot say enough good things about Hannah at Positive Pets! We started using her for training…read moreafter we got our 1 year old golden retriever who needed to be rehomed. She is so knowledgeable and super patient with both dogs and anxious new dog parents (haha!). She worked with our dog for 2 weeks and we saw a HUGE improvement in his behavior. She would always text us updates and give us things that we could work on at home. We plan on continuing to use her for pet sitting and tune-up training sessions. Thank you Hannah!!

That's where Josh comes in.. thank heavens for Josh and his services! Not only is Josh a fellow Frenchie owner so he really understands the breed (he now has three beautiful girls), but he truly and genuinely loves dogs and what he does. I left my girl with Josh for a weekend and she was in the ultimate care. Josh put my mind at ease with frequent updates and photos. He even let my Frenchie sleep in bed with him at night! I guess all the Frenchie's curled up together at the end of the bed for a big Frenchie spooning session - so cute! Josh was also super flexible about pick-up and drop-off times which made everything soo much easier. I hear some kennels are closed on Sundays and only allow you to pick up before certain times - hello! Just writing that gives me a panic attack! My dog being in Josh's care is like my dog being in her own home - talk about a big sigh of relief!
