Nice small park off the Roanoke River Parkway for young families…read more Playground equipment and shelter with restrooms are the highlights. Also a large open space to throw a ball. It seems like the park is mainly utilized by families on foot. There are a few parking spots nearby, but that's the negative of the park. Still recommend. 3+, rounding up.

For my large wedding, we chose Aztec for our rentals. We rented plates, several types of glasses,…read moreand a few other random items. They were nice when I placed the order and accommodating to my request to pickup on Thursday before the wedding. And their prices for rental were pretty reasonable and on-par with other rental places. I found their selection to be lacking, but they were really the only option nearby. They also did not have enough of certain items for me to order through them so I had to go elsewhere and buy some items. When we arrived to pickup our order, after calling beforehand to make sure it was ready, it was in fact not ready. We had to wait around while they got everything together and they ended up missing some items so we had to go back again to pick those up. Once we started pulling out the items, we noticed that every plate and glass needed to be washed. Washing almost 1000 glasses was not what I wanted to do the day before my wedding. Once we returned the items, they said that we were missing some glasses and plates, but they counted them in the back so we had no way to confirm their count. We just had to go with that and pay the astronomical prices for their rental items ($13 for a plain white plate?). Overall, I was not happy with my experience and probably should have gone somewhere else.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Quality Inn in Salem, Virginia, for a full weekend. There were…read morevery few issues, none of which compromised the comfort of my stay. This Quality Inn was in the middle of renovations, but the work did not disturb me personally. It also allowed me to choose an end room with an adjacent room closed for upgrades. The room I stayed in was completed. The shower and bathroom upgrades were fabulous. My only issue would be with the new style mirror lighting provided. It could have been slightly brighter. The room furniture was only average as well. The seating provided in the room wasn't the most comfortable. Otherwise, the room was spotless clean and roomy. The staff was likewise efficient and courteous. Adora checked me in punctually and allowed me to select my preferred location in the motel. She was extremely informative and charming. The breakfast facility was spacious. The food was magnificent, and the lobby, like the room, was exceptionally clean. When combined with the Quality Inn cost-per-night, this motel is an excellent choice for value. If you want clean and modern features at a price that won't crimp your budget, the Quality Inn Salem, Virginia, is a wise choice.
