5/5 I really loved these guys. My poor dog spent a week checked in here and they did a great job. First off they took amazing care of my boy. That is the most important thing. They did everything they could for him and explained it all to me so I could understand. Even at one point when we had a misunderstanding they were extremely professional. A nearby vet recommended I bring my dog here over the other emergency vet in town since it was a "new facility with great staff". They operate on a triage system and I unfortunately had the luck of bringing my dog here on a busy night. He was sick, but not sick enough to be seen quick. We waited an hour to be triaged by the vet tech then another hour before he was seen by the veterinarian. I was then told it would be a few more hours before he could get any tests done, so I opted to just make him comfortable, take him home and I would follow up with my regular vet tomorrow. I was then hoping for a speedy discharge, but it ended up taking over another hour. I hope they bring on more staff to resolve the long wait times. Staff seem friendly although when I had called previously to inquire about whether they had a specific specialty on staff, the reception was not very helpful/ knowledgeable at all. Nobody wants to have to go to an emergency vet... but sadly it happens. My senior dog has been quite ill for a while now. He was in end of life care with his regular vet, and we basically just focused on keeping him happy and comfortable for the past few months. On Friday, he took a turn for the worst and I knew his time had come. I called our vet and unfortunately they were already booked solid until the following Monday. I could tell he was suffering though, and couldn't let him go through the weekend like that. So, I headed over to Pulse. We had been there with our cat a few months ago and were treated well, so it was the first place I thought of. I can't say enough about the staff who were at the front desk. I walked in with my dog in my arms and tears in my eyes. Nothing prepares you for that, even when you know it's coming. They were so compassionate and kind to me and my family. The vet who did the exam was thorough and presented the situation clearly so that I could make the best decision for him. Sadly, it was time to say good bye. The staff didn't rush us, but checked in on us periodically to make sure we were okay. They even brought my dog a bowl full of random goodies for him to chow down on while we cuddled him and loved on him for as long as we could. The price was higher than our usual vet, but that is to be expected at an emergency vet. I would not hesitate to bring any pet to this office in the future. read more

Please if you have the option go elsewhere!!! Upon arrival the receptionist who greeted us was very rude, I was not allowed to enter the building until they wanted payment. They were more concerned about payment then caring for my animal. When the person with the quote called to go over the potential costs she became very rude when I was shocked at the price. Similar procedure at my regular vet was around $400 this place charged $1100, yes this is an emergency clinic, yes it will cost more, but 2.5 times more!! The stitches appear to have been done with very little care or precision. There are several charges on the invoice for dugs with no explanation as to what they are or why they were administered. I don't know how they cared for my dog because I wasn't allowed in so I can't comment on that, but I can say that based on how I was treated I was uneasy and wish I had taken him to Edmonton. The whole team is not very nice - very mean at times. Us older people have to speak loudly into a phone - especially when we cant hear - and to be accused of 'yelling' and corrected by an un-caring person on the other line - when we are panicking and upset about our pet & the OUTRAGOUS charges they have~! Took my dog in on a rush/emergency basis, they took her in immediately from the referral from my vet, fell in love with her, treated her and kept in contact for updates. If I wanted to phone to check up in addition to the calls from the Vets twice daily, I was more than welcome to do so. My little Bella was well cared for and the staff were great. Hope she doesn't need to return, as we all know vets are very expensive, but if she does, I know she is in good hands. I understand the waiting, with curbside service, and spent some time waiting for her to be admitted and also at discharge, however; this is an emergency center, so completely understand that while my dog was being sent in as an emergency, there could have been other pets that were in worse shape. If I could give them zero stars, I would. I went in because my dog had respiratory issues. upon being triaged, the vet tech said it would be a couple of hours. That was at 2:30 PM. At 7:30, I asked how much longer, because my dogs needed to be fed and I needed to eat. The front desk said, "I don't know if you realize, but there are sick animals that have come in today." She then said, "I will put you on the text wait service, where you can go about your business and come back when you get a text." I said I lived an hour away. She said, "You can just go eat dinner and wait for the text but don't go home." So I left And received a text that said that I will be contacted when theyre ready for me. It's currently 5 AM and no text. So from 2:30 PM to 5 AM with no help. I'm absolutely crushed and now my dog is in worse shape with no vet. What an awful experience. I wish they would have told me that I would be COMPLETELY ignored and not seen so that I could find somewhere to go to that would help me. read more

My cat broke his leg in Christmas this was the only available place where they would be able to help him sooner with just the x ray and meds they gave him my bill was already up $900 I couldn't afford splinting him and taking him home and I couldn't afford the $2000+ surgery so I was only left to let him go in which I had to pay $140 for him to get cremated and then it would have cost me another $100-200 to be able to bring his ashes home even though I already payed $140 for them to cremate him already and the worst part was I couldn't make a payment plan and the only reason I couldn't save my pet was because this place was so overly expensive. Personally I would never bring your pet here because they don't care about the animals they only care about the money and it's disgusting I actually wonder how many people came to this vet with hope that they can help but end up having to put their pet down because they can't afford it Sucks that the only place available on a Christmas night at 10 is the most expensive vet I've ever been too and there was nothing I can even do. I would not go back here if this was the last vet clinic on the planet. Brought our dog in who was seizing. They claimed to have test results showing THC and Opioids in her system, yet they refused to give us a copy of this test. Our dog died during shift change when she was left alone for half an hour. We had an autopsy done later on and it turned out she had a brain tumor. No drugs in her system whatsoever. Pulse lied to us. If you care about your pet please consider another vet. read more

Very professional and caring staff and veterinarian. They were very very compassionate with the difficult topic of euthanasia as my older aged dog required it for pancreatic end stage cancer. The room it was done in was clean and comfortable. Brendan the vet was kind, caring and supportive. He really cares for animals and tried his best to find out what was ailing her in order to help her for a better outcome. I am very thankful to all the staff that went above and beyond to care for my poor girl as she came to the end of her life. This was a busy night for them I understand so am doubly thankful for their service during covid and trying times for everyone. Thank you pulse and Brendan. Had to take my cat to the vet over the victoria day weekend. Found this 24 hour vet online. Highly recommend this place. My cat spent 2 days in the hospital having tests. Turned out to be a large tumour that had spread. I made the decision to euthanize after consulting the vet. I am so thankful we had Dr Lisa Thompson. I cannot thank them enough for helping my precious kitty with her seizures. Amazing staff that went above and beyond and answered my questions thoroughly and reassured me every step of the way. I have no idea why this place doesn't have a full five star rating. It's a triage center so the deal with the most priority of emergencies first, which completely makes sense since it's an animal hospital they took great care of my precious girl, and kept her calm. They explained everything to me in great detail, and answered every question I had no matter how silly I thought the questions may have been. They reassured me that they weren't and told me to call anytime I had any questions no matter how little they seemed to me. Quality of care was worth 10 stars if I am ever in a pinch, and need to take her in again in case of emergencies, this will always be the hospital I go to. If you want to get treated like you know nothing about your pet and pay stupidly high prices, go to Pulse. I took my dog in on Saturday as she became very ill very fast. When the tech came to the vehicle to get her she treated me like I knew nothing and my dog was not a priority. With the curtsied service they let me know over the phone there were 6 dogs ahead of her. An hour and a half later the vet calls me, telling me she has pyometra and needs surgery right away or she won't make the night. He quoted me $3500-$4000+. These prices are absolutely ridiculous. For his quick examination was $285. I got my dog and went to another clinic where she was treated as a priority, got the surgery, the best care and it cost $1800. read more

Not quite sure what happened maybe someone was just having a bad day when I called into the veterinarian clinic to explain what was going on with my dog she told me to hurry up and get to the point when I said excuse me what are you talking about she hung up.. so I called back and had some words when I realized it was a different person that was answering the phone so I explained what happened she quickly apologized and asked me to bring the dog in the next day as it could be some serious problems so the next day I took my dog in at 1:30 I asked how many people are ahead of me she said to you I said OK I waited outside and 34 above weather for 3 1/2 hours I finally called and asked how much longer she said well there's five dogs ahead of you I could not believe it I was absolutely thoroughly disgusted with any kind of service with their behaviour and the way they treat people if that's hard if that's how they treat us how do they treat our pets like I said maybe someone was just having a bad day but it totally was it an inconvenience waiting there for 6 1/2 hours finally drive away and I get a phone call to come in seems pretty convenient it was extremely rude I didn't bother answering the phone because they didn't deserve any kind of respect I would not recommend this place to anybody and I will make sure to put reviews on every social media I find and I would not definitely not recommend going thoroughly disgusted. read more

fantastic! they offer every service you could possibly need for a pet. brilliant vets who really care for your pet and take great care of them. i have taken 3 of my cats to them for ultrasound, removal of a growth in one's ear and a dental. they explain what theyre going to do and have you fill out a consent form thats detailed. one cat hadnt used the litter box before i brought him in so he peed in his crate and they cleaned it out and cleaned him up and provided a new blanket for the inside of his crate for the ride home. the only thing to watch for is its expensive for their services but worth every penny. they detail that too in an estimate they give you on paper so you know the least and most it could cost. in a word they are excellent! so dont listen to the negative reviews! read more

To those who have spoken badly about the staff, I have to vehemently disagree! My little puppy was in shock and dying and they immediately took action and did all that they could to save her! Their diagnosis was spot on, while my regular vets was horribly wrong! My little puppy died while the doctor was helping us and every member of the staff comforted us. They gave us her little paw prints and never charged us a single penny! They are the kindest and sweetest vets that I have ever dealt with! You know someone by how they treat you when you are in pain, and Pulse treated me and my little puppy with all the love and care that they could! read more

I took my 17 yr old cat in to this clinic today in an emergency status. She is diabetic and is on insulin 2x per day. For some reason her sugar levels dropped very low. I tried honey, but it was getting worse.. I called pulse to tell them what was going on, and that I was on my way to them. I asked if there was anything that I could do to stabilize here for the drive.. 30 minutes. I was terrified that she would pass away on the drive there. Upon arrival, I called the clinic, 2 ladies came out. 1 went to my passenger side to take Cleo in her cat carrier, the other came to my truck door. They proceeded to ask me all types of questions.. sign here for up to $500 pre approved funds.. for xrays & a list of other things.. I was like, I think she is passing away, I was crying, so I asked if I could come in with her because I didn't believe that she had long.. she was panting, disorientated, her eyes were totally black and she couldn't see. Very close to convulsions or a seizure. The one girl, took her from my truck, and said, it's policy, you can't come in.. if it's life or death, we will call you... I was like, it is life or death. She told me if I keep acting this way, she would ask me to leave??? I was in my truck in the parking lot & frantic about my cat possibly dying in a cat carrier by herself & terrified. The other girl was at my drivers door trying to get me to agree to all types of things that really was ridiculous. It made no sense to me at the time, all that I was thinking is that my baby was going to die alone because this woman had no empathy or soul. I called the clinic & ask the receptionist to please bring me my cat.. I didn't want her to die alone. I went to the front door to get her. The girl that had taken her from me came out without her.. I said, please bring me my cat, she's dying alone... She said NO, we will not release this animal to you!!! YOU can only imagine my horror & fear to be told that. I asked 3 more times, please bring me my cat, I was crying. The girl said you have to leave the building. I was getting frantic now and said, you have to bring me my cat NOW. Again she said no & she was going to call the POLICE WTF - call the police. So yes, I did start swearing. I was in protection & panic mode now. I said that I was calling the police too, she said go ahead just leave. I just wanted my cat back so that she didn't die alone with strangers. This woman can burn in hell for putting someone through turmoil like that for no reason. Power trip? I don't know, but she is a true piece or work.. She is heartless & cold, with not a spec of empathy. A man came out of the back offices then to see what was going on, again I said, I just want my cat what is wrong with you people!!! So to diffuse the situation like a normal person would, he said, please go get her cat, & come with me to a side room. My girl was administered sugar/glucosamine or whatever to stabilize her sugar levels, which were at 2.9. Then they told me that I had to leave her for a few days to make sure that her levels balanced out as her sugars were not under control. She has been diabetic for 7+ years, so yes, her diabetis is under control, this is was "one off". It took 2.5 hrs for this to happen & $300 for the glucose. The stress facture behind this ordeal is enough for me to say, that I do not recommend this Clinic. These 2 staff members are absolutely horrible people! With no exaggeration. I would let my cat die in my arms before I would step foot back to this clinic. It's all about the money & 2 absolute bitches who come out for curb side... This clinic needs to get rid of these 2 as a start. What a way to ruin your business reputation by having 2 completely heartless, incompetent indivuals working for them representing their business.
