The studio is celebrating its 5 year anniversary. It's a one room studio so if you get there too…read moreearly or late the door is locked. I thought the classes were pricey for the area at $16 a class, but they do offer pay what you can community classes. According to their website they designed their studio environmentally green including using only "non-petroleum soy candles". Music is played during class which is nice. The studio has high ceilings and tall windows, but really only comfortably fits about 15 people practicing at once, but they can squeeze in 45 or so with mats 3 inches apart from each other. They have a store in the front with lots of books, dvds, and clothing. With a name like Blue Lotus I was expecting to see a blue wall somewhere or a lotus candle, something that plays on their name in the decor, but I think they were going for a white space with minimal decor. The students that come here are all very friendly and chat with each other.

Carrington destroyed me. In a total good way :) Her class was packed and the vibe was good. I…read moreattempted a lot of poses that I'd never tried before. And now my muscles are making sure I'm acutely aware of those poses. Carrington wasn't afraid to adjust pretty much everyone in her class, and I have to admit her adjustments were just about perfect. The studio is off the beaten path, and parking was sparse. There is only one bathroom and no other changing area, so get there early if you need to change. But the space is perfect for yoga. Not pretentious, but still clean, spacious, and inviting. Definitely check out Blue Lotus, and I highly recommend Carrington's class, especially if you have a decent practice or just want your butt kicked. Your muscles may hate you the next couple of days, but you'll be proud of yourself after that :)

I have been loving Barre3! I read all the reviews beforehand so I had an idea what to expect. The…read morefirst class was torture for me, but it got much better after that! I did learn that sumo squats are not my friend!. If you have been to Pure Barre I would say the classes have similarities but Barre3 has more cardio/yoga and a more intense warmup. I like that they throw more cardio in, it makes it feel like a better all around workout. I hate when you go to a new studio for the first time and no one really shows you the ropes. Not the case with Barre3! The front desk had already marked down that it was my first time so after a bit of paperwork I got a quick tour and learned what to grab for each class. Tori C was an awesome instructor for my first time back at the barre in years. She was friendly, motivating, and always there to give me a helpful correction. I have also really enjoyed Suzanne's class. She is upbeat and motivating! The AC was not working at full force during the last class and she had me so much in the zone I didn't even notice. Highly recommend checking them out. They even offer child care at a super affordable rate during class. I think that is such a nice touch for moms. **Really bummed they are no longer letting Class Pass people sign up for classes, the only option now is a 7pm weekday class. I completely understand not letting Class Passers in to their busiest classes, but for example Tuesday at noon, that class is usually pretty empty. I was told they ran the Class Pass test for a year to see what they thought. Sad this will no longer be in my weekly routine.**

My addiction to barre has become quite fierce lately, I think I've made my way to almost every…read morebarre studio in town! Every studio is so different but I have to say barre3 is definitely one of my favorites. What makes barre3 stand out? 1) more cardio then other barre studios 2) lot's of mirrors and a much bigger room then some of the others in town 3) childcare (no I don't need it but I have so many friends I want to bring to workout with me and none of these boutique studios have childcare but barre3 does!!! ) Check the times though they only offer it for certain class times. 4) easy parking I was sweating puddles in this class an really enjoyed the cardio aspect. I also enjoyed the burn in my muscles the next day which means I got a good workout. We did a crazy plank series as well that was very challenging. I'm here to workout and that's what I got at barre3, can't wait till my next class.
