Angeline Smith has messed up my entire healthcare so badly. She has responded to so many of my mychart messages with "I don't know about that." She has sent me referrals to places with inaccurate information. I have been waiting for FIVE WEEKS for her to fill out ONE PAGE front and back of a medical form that my HR is requesting. She filled it out once completely incorrectly with medical information that was inaccurate and not at all what we'd discussed, so I dropped off a new form to be corrected and wrote a letter describing exactly what I need. She MyChart messaged me that she would do it the first Friday after I'd dropped it off, great. I called the following Tuesday after not hearing anything, they said it is not done and Angie will be out all week. OK . The 3rd week, it didn't get done even though I called and MyChart messaged. The 4th week, it got done and I went to pick it up and she had only filled out the front of the form, not the back. She also filled out my PFML paperwork without any dates- showing incompetence. I had to return these to get redone AGAIN on a Tuesday, they told me the forms would get corrected before the end of that week. The 5th week, I called to see if it's done. She is once again out for the entire week and they say it'll get done next week, but who knows at this point. Lastly, she had to leave the room DURING the procedure to remove my nexplanon because she dropped the scalpel and couldn't find a new one. She was talking the entire time, it hurt and I was nervous and bleeding while she was out of the room to find out where scalpels were. Who isn't familiar with their own procedure room?? Completely unprofessional. Dr. Cargill was great. But I would not recommend anyone with any sort of medical complexity or chronic illness see Angeline Smith ever, worst care I have ever received. read more

Do not seek medical care here. I have interacted with four different providers and for all their goal seems to be to send you home with no diagnosis, no testing and no answers. During my most recent experience with them I was mis-diagnosed and then accused of being aggressive when I politely questioned if the new diagnosis wasn't correct either. They also became angry that I sought a second opinion after they told me to do so. Over the course of several months and two providers they have been unable to write a referral that will be accepted by a specialist and have become angry when I asked them to review the reasons for the rejections. I have asked them to make a note about my anxiety in my chart multiple times and been ignored. They refused to even see my partner because they are on ADHD medication and made odd comments in the notes about me bringing my partner to appointments, so don't believe the statements about LGBT inclusivity. I will likely be dismissed from the practice for writing this review. Also they may be limiting reviews on Facebook as I'm unable to crosspost there. read more

I explained to her what I had been dealing with and what worked for me in the past. She scolded me and told me that that wasn't the way they did things there. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have lung problems and I got really sick and had to go to urgent care. Of course you need to see your primary care to make sure everything is okay and getting better. The only appointment I could get was a month and a half away. I should have been able to see them that week with my history. They are horrible about getting refills for medications. I saw Dr. Jennifer and I felt like she wasn't listening to what I had to say. I am really disappointed in this establishment. I have had terrible patient care and service since the first time I stepped in there. First of all I was asked to complete a survey online and from that information assumed I was checked in (because the questions pertained to personal information along with covid questions) but apparently not because I ended up waiting until someone noticed I wasn't and so my appointment started 20minutes late. I had an appointment with Dr."X" who I proceeded to give all my information to (one being all the chronic/long term medications I am on including birth control) and if I forgot anything my records should have filled in the blanks. Finally when it came time to refill my prescriptions a few weeks later I call and hear about this "3 business day" policy on refilling meds because the doctor has to review and approve. First of all, you just saw me a few weeks prior and have all the information, it should have been reviewed and approved and ready to go that day for when I needed it since we discussed everything at my appointment and you knew my case or so you should have. Since I assumed this would be the situation (I am in the medical profession) it would make sense that all you would need to do is call and ask for the refills to be sent to the pharmacy. Not here, there is a poor patient standard of care because with a 3 business day waiting period to approve medications that should have been approved at the yearly visit, what happens is the doctors do all their appointments and refills get pushed to the side, prioritizing doctor convenience over patient care. I was also not made aware of this 3 day policy prior to calling for my refill and so I ended up going without important medications for a few days because of this poor standard. My refills should have been approved at my yearly exam! To continue the saga, initially I had the medications sent to a pharmacy in Pullman, but because I am a student and Pullman is not my permanent home, when I went back for the holidays it was like pulling teeth to get them to once again approve my medications. To top it off I had called Pullman Family medicine saying that kaiser had just sent them a request to once again approve medications for mail order delivery and the receptionist who answered the phone said she saw the approval request come in via email. This time I was more than 3 business days ahead of time. 3 business days go by and nothing. I call Pullman family medicine and now they say they never received any medication approval request, but Kaiser insists they sent it. So now for a second time my meds come late. Not to mention during all of this, I have asked to speak to the Medical Director who doesn't have a direct line and all 3 times I have been transferred to her line she "happens to be out of office" so I need to leave a voicemail and I don't get a call back. Round 3: I go on to Kaiser to refill my meds and I note that only 1-2 months worth of medication was approved. Dr."X"has now decided I need to come for a 6 month check-up, before she will refill my meds because according to the front desk staff "I have changed pharmacies". My insurance only covers 1 free visit a year and my appointment was about 4 months ago so please give me a reasonable explanation for wanting to see me again because as far as I know, I have about 8 more months to go ... and changing pharmacies is not a valid reason. Yes it is possible for a person who studies in one part of the state but goes home for holidays to use two different pharmacies. So I need my meds by next Friday ( 8 days away including the weekend) but it takes about 5 days after "approval" to get my meds delivered by mail and I can already tell my meds are not going to get approved on time for what is it, the 3rd time now?! because this place puts doctor convenience over patient care. Dr. "X" doesn't work until next week and no one cares enough to walk from their desk over to her and bring this to her attention until I call a second time. (Still waiting for the manager to call me back). Finally someone puts me on hold to go and talk to her, the medication I need is birth control and apparently we never spoke about birth control at my appointment. 1 - you have already approved it prior, so yes we did, 2 I came in for a pap smear and we spoke about family planning and 3, you have my previous records and my current records so all you had to do was look in the record if you didn't jot down what we spoke about. Not to mention there was another issue I had that she was to follow up on with me and never did. I honestly don't want to deal with this place and you should really take a hard look at your standard of care because it is really poor. Your negligence has resulted in me receiving my medications late almost 3 times in a row now. This is not ok. You are supposed to advocate for your patients and I have experienced the complete opposite here. read more

You would think of you practice medicine in this town that you would know how to submit a referral and what days the hospital runs imaging. Something has changed in this practice, and not for the good. Every member of our family is established patients, and they took good care of me through both my pregnancies, but that was 10 years ago. Recently our children were sick to the point that they needed to be seen. I was told that they were booked 3 weeks out and to take them to an urgent care. We wound up taking them both to the ER at different times. Then I tried to get follow up appointments for each of them and again was told that there would be weeks before we could get in, so we skipped the follow ups and by the grace of God they both recovered on their own with the treatment from the E.R. visits. Last week I tried to call to see about scheduling an overdue checkup for my husband who is also an established patient of theirs. It was not lunch time and during their normal operating hours, but they were forwarding their calls to the hospital emergency line for some reason. I tried again today, and the office actually answered. I was asked to "hold briefly", although I was long distance on a landline I said, "Okay". My wait on hold was not "brief", and then someone picked up and immediately hung up on me. I called right back and was asked to hold "briefly" again. This time I said I just went through that and when someone finally picked up they hung up on me. The woman on the line offered a robotic apology completely devoid of feeling or understanding in her voice. Then as if to excuse it she said they are short staffed. Then she again asked me to "hold briefly". This time I said, "No, I will call back." I doubt I will give them another chance. I'll be looking for a different primary care. So disappointing. I intend to post this on Facebook and anywhere else I can warn others who are looking for care for themselves or to care for their families. There's no help to be found here. read more

I had a doctor appointment at Pullman Family Medicine with Dr. Ben Adkins on 1/31/19. All vitals were taken and I was asked to sit in a room and wait for Dr. Adkins. Several minutes later Dr. Adkins entered the room, pulling a portable rolling computer station along with him. I didn't think anything was odd, but on top of the computer station was a laptop. It looked like a video chat window was perhaps open, but I didn't think anything of it. Dr. Adkins positioned the laptop on the rolling computer station, so that the laptop screen was facing me, and in hindsight, I believe he was ensuring I was in the frame of the web or video cam of the laptop. Dr. Adkins left the laptop positioned that way near the door, and sat down at another desktop computer station on the other side of the room. We conducted the appointment as normal, discussing various medical issues I was dealing with at the time. Towards the end of the appointment, I glance back at the laptop, which is to the right and slight rear of where I am facing/sitting on the exam table. I notice that the application open is indeed some sort of video chat application. I immediately am taken aback, because I realize there is someone connected on a live video chat, monitoring our appointment, seeing and listening to everything. I'm under the impression I'm in a private appointment with my physician. I'm completely shocked as the realization sets in that it's not a private appointment and there is someone else seeing and hearing everything. I ask Dr. Adkins, "Is that a live video chat open now?". He says, "Yes, that's our Stenographer, she's taking notes of our appointment." I'm a little incredulous at hearing this, feeling like my privacy was violated, as I wasn't informed that this was occurring. At this point, I tell the Dr. to have a nice day and leave, while informing him that this type of activity is unprofessional. From Dr. Adkins' reaction this isn't an isolated instance. It seems to be their policy at this facility to allow such invasions of privacy. After all this, I still had numerous issues getting some basic prescriptions filled. Dr. Adkins couldn't even print out basic information for the medications I was being prescribed. That took me nearly two weeks and half a dozen phone calls to remedy. Several of my issues that I discussed with Dr. Adkins were treated with the prognosis of "this is something you just have to live with." He didn't even evaluate me to come to this conclusion which is the odd thing. For example, in my foot, I described a symptom I was experiencing and he didn't even examine my foot. I'm describing the symptoms and he's just coming up with some prognosis without evaluating the issue. Just leaves me shaking my head. Lastly, during my first visit some months ago, (this was my second and probably last visit) Dr. Adkins suggested and offered to refer me for an X-Ray for one particular issue. During my second appointment, though nothing had changed, he stated he was "uncomfortable" referring me for an X-Ray. Ironically, despite that statement, he still referred me, which doesn't provide me with much confidence in prognosis. Again, as with my medications, he couldn't or wouldn't print me out any referral information (e.g. Doctor Name, Location, etc). This is the second physician I've tried in Pullman, the first was Dr. Robert Spady with Total Health Physician Group, and he and his team were even worse if that's possible. Unfortunately, I've been disappointed with the quality and professionalism of healthcare in Pullman. Based on our conversations with individuals and families that have lived here for any decent amount of time, most people seem to reluctantly find physicians in Spokane or even Seattle/Portland, which is really sad. read more

I saw Dr. Adkins several times several years ago and I'm surprised he's still practicing. The last time I saw Dr. Adkins he blew off my neck problems, told me I will have to live with my problems and proceeded to tell me his injuries from an accident or more than one accident and how he dealt with it. Excuse me but I'm 20 years plus older than he is and he seemed to be athletic. I don't want to hear about your problems, I'm the patient here! Then he told me I had fibromyalgia and he'd prove it to me. He gave me an injection that just about brought me to my knees and then walked out. Nothing else to say. Just left. I left in tears and never went back. I think he's very arrogant and has a horrible professional attitude. read more

This is a GREAT family medical practice in Pullman (and was conveniently located just down the street from where I lived when I was a student at WSU). They've got an attentive staff, great doctors, and are uber-easy to book an appointment with. I would come here quite frequently (due to sinus infections and other cold-like symptoms I'd experience all through college, ugh) and always felt so well-taken care of. I'd HIGHLY recommend this doctor's office to anyone in Pullman, especially any of you college kids who are on a shoestring budget and can't get home to visit your family practitioner AND, probably most paramount, want to go somewhere you can trust. Lived here for 10+ years, have had 2 kids, and although I strayed and went to other more specialized offices throughout the years(OB and Peds) I have now brought my entire family back here and we receive great care. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Jones and the rest of the staff at PFM! My only gripe is that she has ridden me hard about getting a flu shot, but I will always say no. I actually appreciate the fact that she makes it her duty to inform patients and see to it that they get the best and thorough care. I like the fact that she could relate to having a preemie baby. She is now our family provider, and I admire the Hell out of her fearlessness when I discussed the possibility of a second baby after a very high risk pregnancy the first go. While other doctors have been cruel and judgemental, she listened and supported the decision while still getting concerns across. She is truly a wonderful benefit to this community. Additionally, her usual nurse, Jamie, is always so chipper, thorough, and you can just tell that she cares and likes her job. The front desk folks are always willing to help with rescheduling and in general just get things done! Professional, yet jovial. Who knew that one day I (and now my daughter) would actually be excited to go to the doctor!?! read more

I am 19 years old and in the past 2 years I have had two knee surgeries (ACL/meniscus repair and meniscus trimming). When I injured my knee during a soccer game I knew I had seriously injured it. I hoped my concern and symptoms would be enough to immediately book an MRI but she was very hesitant. We waited another week and another doctor saw me with the same hesitation. I made it clear I wasn't leaving that appointment without booking an MRI so she put in an order. Turns out I tore my other ACL. They only offered me crutches after discovering the extent and seriousness of my injury. My advice, be an advocate for your health. read more

This place is on the smaller side but is clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and warm when I check-in, when they are testing my vitals, and when I check-out. I see Dr. Adkins here and though it can sometimes be tricky to find an appointment with him that works with my schedule, I never have to wait long in the waiting room or doctor's office when I arrive (I typically had to wait 1 - 2 hours at my previous doctor's office in Hawai`i). Parking is free and it's not difficult to find an open stall (I always have to pay for parking at my previous doctor's office and the parking, while in a large structure, was cramped and it was hard to find open stalls). read more

I think the staff at Pullman Family Medicine is professional, kind and knowledgable however when I needed an athletic release form signed for my daughter I was charged $20. Her yearly physical was in the fall of 5th grade and when I needed an athletic clearance form signed in the summer for middle school sports it cost me! In spite of being a patient for almost ten years I was charged. I was shocked at the charge and didn't feel valued as a patient. The top-notch service provided by the doctors and nurses just isn't enough to make up for the routinely negative experience with the front-office staff. Getting an appointment or asking a question frequently becomes an ordeal. It seems like the office staff's primary goal is preventing patients from getting access to care providers. Additionally, the billing is confusing. The last two bills each listed a several hundred dollar charge, but the description field was completely blank. It gave no indication of what the bill was for. If there is actually anything wrong with you do not go here!! They could care less about actually diagnosing your problem. They'd rather turn you around and set you on your way. Why? Do they judge you by your level of insurance? Do they judge you by your appearance? Does it matter to them your ethnic heritage? The front office is extremely unprofessional, like everyone is managed by someone with no business holding that job. They announced my medical history to a full waiting room in the most embarrassing way in complete violation of HIPPA. When my symptoms involved pain the response was to deny my claim and send me away. When I returned for another appointment and mentioned the pain still bothering me and asked if there were any way to get the medications I was previously prescribed in another town I was again denied and shamed as if I were just looking to get high or something. They then sent me a letter terminating me as a patient sighting me as a problem. ...And as others have stated, they do use a computer to monitor your appointment. They don't record it but instead have a person on the other end (scribe) who documents (paraphrases/interprets) what is said during your appointment. After reviewing my medical record I would conclude this is clearly biased in the defense of the practice in case anyone discovers the level of incompetence present here. Now, several weeks later, I am in Seattle and the pain became severe. I went to the ER. I had appendicitis and was admitted for an emergency appendectomy. Also, evidence of bleeding from an ovarian cyst that had ruptured. Extreme anemia and a lump on my liver to be checked by MRI. And a fairly good sized kidney stone were all discovered. These could all have been reasonable explanations for the pain I was seeking treatment for at Pullman Family Medicine. What did they do for me? They told me they weren't going to help me and asked me to never come back. After learning from real doctors what was going on with my body I can say that now, yes, I am upset with Pullman Family Medicine and I hope that anyone seeking medical help is fortunate enough to avoid this place. Dr. Adkins has been my doctor for a year and I can't say enough good things about him. I just had a baby and I felt like I was in great hands throughout my whole pregnancy and delivery. I had such a great experience and will continue to see Dr. Adkins and have him as our pediatrician as well. The office and staff are also great, I never have to wait very long, usually about ten minutes. I would highly recommend Pullman Family Medicine based on my experience. read more

The two good things I can say for this place is I got an appointment when I needed it and the doctor recognized he was not capable of treating my problem. I have been trying, without success, to get my records and a result of testing that was done at the doctor's instruction for 3 weeks. They have not been posted on the patient portal, and though it was promised I would get them in the mail I have not received anything. If you have a booboo go see them. Once I actually get an appointment, the doctors are fine. However, there is absolutely no way to schedule an annual appointment for the following year (why is it possible to do so with dentists and doctors elsewhere, but now here?), so I completely forget to make one. I've been going to Pullman Family Medicine for 25 years. All of the doctor's are superior. In the last few years, however, the staff at the front desk are not always facilitating and sometimes rude. Several of nurses are flip and inpatient. Clients pay large sums of money for their health insurance and medical care. Why is the service deteriorating? The staff needs a tune-up and the lobby needs an upgrade. read more

I've been coming here since 1997 when I moved to Pullman. I also brought my daughter here when she was growing up. Wonderful staff, friendly and professional! I've never had a bad experience. And I want to thank them for renewing a referral so quickly when I'd forgotten it was expired. It came through the same day!! This place has deteriorated into nothing more than a money grab. My entire family was a patient here for about 7 years, but they dropped support for insurances like mine unwilling to pay their high prices for seeing nurses. Their billing department is horrible when it comes to even cash adjustments; they told me recently that they wouldn't fix their mistake when they tried to bill the insurance company for a visit when it was denied by them. Additionally, scheduling an appointment is a nightmare. Good luck if you want to see someone the same day! You may get lucky with a same-day appointment if you call very early in the morning, but who wants to do that when they're sick? I would highly recommend finding another physician in the area that actually treats their patients like human beings. read more

They billed him and his insurance for a separate visit when it was only one visit. these people are trying scam group health. when he called billing department basically yelled and hung up on him. Dr LIES after offering to give 5 (five yes) meds off your allergy list and after figuring out the clinic failed to input said allergy list sent in his nurse with a shot of another med from your allergy list flat lied to cover his tushy . The coordinator for the clinic REFUSED to return your calls and instead fires you from the clinic trying to refuse even a 30 day med fill ( no control substance was even on the list) and after the demand for the meds the Dr dropped physc meds by half dosages. Medical records drags their feet to get a copy of the said records AND after having a request sent 4 times chooses to not send records via fax but snail mail instead. Saying there are people with cancer who take top priority for records, but having them have proof I am not only a stroke survivor but a inoperable brain tumor survivor you would THINK they would be willing to send my file faster and NOT be rude. read more

I've been a patient for over 30 years (mostly my kids early on) and we have received only excellent care and attention. I am a fan of the same day appointments. After my PFC Dr. retired I briefly went to Moscow Family and though I really liked the Dr. there you could never get in to see him. For sickness or injuries an appointment in 3 weeks doesn't help much. read more

There are quite a few people at this "practice" that prefer to neglect their clients rather than listen to them and their wants and worries. There is one doctor in particular who would rather give a "blanket diagnostic" and recommendation than actually try to work with the patient and help them through their medical needs. A doctors recommendation should be just that, a RECOMMENDATION not written law, if a patient is not happy with said recommendation, then another should be sought out, or another method of service should be searched for. If you are a patient here, please move on and find another practice, if you try and "request another doctor" then they have the potential to completely terminate you because one doctor in particular doesn't like the fact some patients want other alternatives and views. If and when they do terminate you, it can be over any reason they choose and the appeal is a 2 week process. If you are a patient here, make sure you walk on eggshells at all times, because if you say something that isn't satisfactory to them or they don't agree with, then they will likely terminate you. Trust me, the last thing they want is for you to stand up for your rights as a client, patient, and ultimately a customer. Another extremely troubling problem with this practice is that when you have an "appointment" at 10.30, you get called back into the waiting room, and can at times wait for 10, 15 or even 30 minutes for your doctor to saunter in the room like he is Gods' gift to earth. As a patient, I expect when my name is called, and I am escorted to the waiting room for the doctor to meet me, I expect them to be there promptly, I don't want to wait for minutes and minutes on end, only for them to walk in and think everything is fine and dandy. In closing, I would like to say that working with the office manager to "sort things out" is a waste of breath, oh and when they do terminate you, you DO NOT RECEIVE ANY NOTICE WHAT-SO-EVER! You find out by calling in and trying to schedule an appointment, they say "sorry you have been terminated, we will no longer see you as a patient at this facility. You can appeal, but the process can take up to 2 weeks." So, thanks but no thanks, this practice is absolutely terrible and I will never recommend them to anyone I know. read more

Not so great, really! Poor scheduling and no respect for patients or their time. Don't believe their self-proclaimed "goals." Out of 3 appointments all scheduled in advance, 2 appointments I was kept waiting and ended up leaving without seeing a health care provider. On the first occasion that this occurred, after 15 minutes waiting past my apt time I went to the desk and was told it would be another 15 minutes...I was the first appointment of the day the doctor was not behind because of patient care but because he was too late getting to work for the day. After 20 additional minutes passed by, I got up told them the doctor had no respect for me and I left. I wasted 35 minutes waiting. The second time this happened, after one good apt, I again had a long scheduled appointment (with a different doctor same group) for followup care and complete physical. When I walked in early for my apt, I was told she was running 30 minutes late. I wasn't happy but waited as I needed medical care. After the 30 minutes I went to their counter to inquire about my apt and was told it would be another 15-20 minutes. I was upset to say the least. Most of all, as I told the receptionist, I was going to be late for my physical therapy appointment and then be charged $25.00 by them for being late or missing my apt. I told her I was angry and didn't deserve to be so disrespected by them and that my time was valuable too. I left as I had waited 40 minutes for my apt. Well, I just received a nasty letter from them kicking me out of their practice telling me they don't want me as a patient because I complained and left. Unbelievable! I would have stayed if they had been on time for the appointments THEY assigned to me. Horrible way to treat people. (by the way, I went to them for swollen extremely painful hands. one insisted it was osteo-arthritis and would not consider otherwise though there is no history and symptoms didn't match well. Sure-enough the expensive x-rays proved it isn't OA...so much for diagnostics there either.) I think I should send them a bill for my time lost. read more
