Wow, with the recent renovation the lobby looks very spiffy. I also really like that they relocated…read morethe Pharmacy to right by the entrance. It's a lot easier acces-wise than walking down a couple halls. I've always had pretty good experience with Health and Wellness. I usually make appointments online. You have to currently enrolled in their system in order to access site. Once in, you can easily make an appointment. When visiting, it's the usual clinic wait time. It does get a little busier later in the year around flu season. The doctors and nurses I've seen have been very nice and helpful. Last year my eye was bugging me a lot and I went in to check it out. My doctor was afraid I had damaged my cornea so she called up a local eye doctor in Moscow to get me in immediately. She even called and checked up on me a few days later to make sure everything had turned out fine. Her thoughtfulness been very memorable. They're closed on the weekends except for urgent care. I've only gone in once under those circumstances. The doctor saw me almost immediately, I don't even remember any other people coming in for medical advice. I was in and out with a prescription relatively quickly and back in my bed to hibernate. They validate parking if you go in for medical services if I remember correctly. I usually schedule my appointments around my classes so I just walk.

I paid a visit to my optometrist Dr. Robert Wayne recently. Feeling embarrassed, I asked when I…read morewas last in to see him knowing it had been years and that he could tell by the condition of my glasses. Leslie - wife and office manager, (is that the correct title?) said it had been ten years. Couldn't believe I was still in their records and the details the doc remembered about me personally. He was right, I had been putting off this visit until I could afford a quick trip over from Seattle to see him and get new glasses. You see I first saw Dr. Wayne when in my twenties and he correctly diagnosed me with a condition which causes me to see everything in a kind of misaligned double vision. Of course my parents always saw to it that my glasses were up to date, but previous docs had somehow missed this. Dr. Wayne put a prism in my glasses at that time which changed everything for me. Vision didn't hurt anymore. For the first time I could read more than two pages without becoming exhausted. I started to enjoy reading instead of avoiding it and that changed my life in ways I had never imagined. My new glasses also have a prism and are progressive bifocals as well. Learning by reading instead of memorization is a privilege I'm so grateful for and I never take it for granted. Reading is like a delicious desert at the end of a great meal. Today there is better technology which allowed Dr. Wayne to take a baseline picture of my retina which revealed that my eyes are very healthy and we discussed preventing eye diseases using natural supplements - an approach I've used for the rest of my organs over many years. I'm a cancer survivor from the age of fourteen and I just turned 46. As I said to Dr. Wayne, I've learned over the years to be very particular about doctors. Only the best for me, thank you. Nicer, more competent people you will not find. They are the real deal. You'll love meeting them even if you've been putting it off for awhile.

I'm so grateful for his care, and his desire to educate me about the problems and options available. He and Leslie are a huge blessing to their patients.
