I have been a patient at Middleton for years. I have decided to leave. They have changed their…read morepractices to the point it has gotten ridiculous. I have never missed an appointment and always paid my bill - even when I didn't have insurance. They now require that you confirm your appointment a full week ahead of time or they fill your appointment. I am a busy person, i planned on going to my appointment, had it on my calendar just hadn't confirmed. They cancelled my appointment and then gave it to someone else 6 days prior. This is not the way it used to be. They have forgottent they are selling a service that is available by a lot of dentists in the area so I will go elsewhere.

Deceptive Billing Practices…read more * Incorrect Billing for Fluoride Treatment for Two Years * Charged $40-50 for a "BOGO" fluoride treatment that should have been fully covered by my insurance. * Insurance Coverage Confirmation: * During a call today, it was confirmed that both children and adults have 100% coverage under your insurance plan for this treatment. * Billing Discrepancy for Adults: * Although the treatment is fully covered, the dental office never submitted the claims for adult treatments to the insurance as required. * Refund Request Denied: * You requested a refund for the past overcharges; however, the owner refused on the basis that the claims had already been submitted and processed. * Billing Standards Conflict: * Billing records clearly show that the fluoride cost on our copies of billing statements, which underscores that patients should not have been charged out-of-pocket for a procedure that is entirely covered by insurance. * Overall Concern: The situation highlights poor customer service and deceptive billing practices, potentially harming patients both financially and trust-wise. You have to wonder how many other families they are doing this to every day. Edit Update after reaching out to our insurance company Insurance Confirmation: Our insurance provider clarified that performing a fluoride cleaning without submitting an insurance claim is unacceptable. Direct Outreach: They have proactively faxed and contacted Middleton Dentistry, advising that a new claim be submitted for our fluoride treatments, which will then result in reimbursement. They also advised them - "all fluoride treatments should be submitted on all claims". Persistent Advocacy: This resolution would not have been possible without our persistent follow-up and insistence on addressing the billing discrepancy. It was clear Middleton was going to do nothing to correct their mistake. We have not received a refund yet but will post again once it has been completed.

RIDICULOUS! I've been a patient at Lakewood for about 2 or 3…read moreyears now. I've only gotten cleanings and x-rays here, and mind you, I've loved tooth cleanings since I was a kid -- these people stab your gums more than is necessary and practically drown you with the water before suctioning. I'm pretty sure they train dental students here, so I can forgive that for the most part. I scheduled a wisdom tooth extraction procedure more than 3 weeks ago, and their oral surgeon is only in the office 2 days of the month (every other Wednesday, I believe). I had to change my insurance information, so that was already a bit of a rough endeavor but it got done. It was scheduled for 1:00 pm; they called me three days before my procedure to see if I would be able to come in at 9, 10, or 11 am because they were short-staffed. I ended up rescheduling for 11:00. It was understandable and mostly expected because: While in my time as a patient here, I had only been rescheduled or canceled on once or twice; I made recommendations to people to go there and all three of these people had bad scheduling experiences on separate occasions. One was called about an hour before his appointment to reschedule for a different day! Then, they met my expectations even more by calling 2.5 hours before my appointment to reschedule for noon because they "had a call-off". Call me delusional, but the woman who called seemingly tried to catch me off guard or convince me it was already for then when she started the call -- "I was calling to make sure you're still all set to come in at 12?" "No, they told me 11:00..." "Oh, (pause) I'm so sorry about that. Would you be able to come in at noon instead? We had a call-off." And I asked about earlier times (9, 10)... Nope! Then, a few minutes after the call ended, I got an alert that my appointment time had been changed to noon. (So it never said I was in at noon, huh?) Also, I asked about payment plans or being billed for services because even with insurance, they were estimating $608 to pull all 4 wisdom teeth, and she told me I would have to pay up front!

I'd give zero stars if yelp would let me. Just awful! What could have been done in two visits was…read moredrawn out to seven. When my insurance changed at beginning of the year, they tried to get me to pay out of pocket. I'm sure that they just dragged it out so long so they could milk medicaid for all those extra visits.
