A couple days after we bought the set, we received a call from the installer to schedule a time for that; they showed up on time and talked through all the options how things could be installed on site. They finished the set in about 5 hours (So glad I had them do it! It would have taken me 2 days!) The look on my sons face when he first saw it all up was priceless, he absolutely loves it and so do we! Yes the price was a bit higher than the kits you can purchase, but this thing is built like a tank, serious quality here, the installers said it was rated for adults too! Well, when they were gone and no one was looking of course I had to give it a test ;) Yep, it definitely is well built! Weeeeeee!

After years of…read morecoming here with my family--and now getting the opportunity to see it from behind the scenes--I have an even greater appreciation for what they've built. Maris Farms Throughout the Year Maris Farms creates some wonderful experiences for families throughout the year. Their spring events, including Springtime Babies and all the baby animals, are fantastic for kids. But obviously, the highlight is the Fall Festival. There is so much to do: games, apple blasters, obstacle courses, slides, animals, and activities throughout the farm. There truly is something for every age group, and you can easily spend hours here. And the food is legitimately good--not just "good for an event." The burgers are great, the lemonade is fantastic, and the street corn is easily one of my favorites every year. Then the sun goes down, and Maris Farms becomes an entirely different experience. The Haunted Woods I've gone through the Haunted Woods with my daughter for five years, and it has become one of our favorite traditions. I've experienced plenty of haunted attractions, and I genuinely believe Maris Farms has one of the best haunts in the greater Puget Sound area. The sets, lighting, fog, animatronics, sound, and especially the way the entire haunt flows are incredibly well done. Every year they change things just enough that there's always something new waiting for you. But what really makes this haunt special are the actors. These people absolutely love what they do. From the first guests coming through around 8:00 until the final groups well after 10:30, they are ALL IN. They're performing, interacting, reading people's reactions, staying in character, and finding creative ways to scare you. Whether you're the first group through or the last, they want you to have an incredible experience. You can tell this isn't simply an attraction to the people running it. Haunting is a passion for them, and they're exceptionally good at their craft. Behind the Scenes This year, for the first time, I joined the Haunted Woods team in a security/safety role, which gave me an opportunity to see everything from the other side. It honestly affirmed everything I already believed about this place. The actors are every bit as energetic and passionate behind the scenes, and there are some genuinely great people working here. But I especially want to recognize the unsung heroes who build, maintain, and operate the sets. These guys are incredible. They're there long before guests arrive--building, repairing, adjusting corn and set pieces, testing lights, fog machines and animatronics, and making sure hundreds of little details are working correctly. When something breaks during the haunt, they're there fixing it. And after the last guests leave, when everyone is exhausted and ready to go home, they're still there. They walk the entire haunt again, checking everything and making sure it's ready to do all over again. Most guests will never see that work or know the names of the people doing it, but they deserve a tremendous amount of credit. Five Stars--From Both Sides of the Haunt After five years experiencing the Haunted Woods as a customer with my daughter, I already loved this place. Getting to see the actors, builders, designers, technicians, safety staff, and everyone else behind it has given me an entirely new appreciation for just how much work goes into creating this experience. Whether you're bringing the kids during the day for the Fall Festival, grabbing some street corn and lemonade, launching apples and hitting the slides, or coming after dark because you want somebody hiding in a cornfield to scare the living daylights out of you, Maris Farms is absolutely worth experiencing. I'll admit I wasn't fully aware of the various types of pumpkins, but Knutson Farms provided an experience that extends past my imagination. I was blown away by the colorful array of pumpkins of different shapes and sizes from small to humongous that even Cinderella would envy. Knutson offers tons of amenities aside from pumpkin hunting, such as petting zoo, farm rides, corn mazes, and farm games. My personal favorite of the farm games was the Rubber Duck Race game where they play using a cast-iron hand pump to propel a raft of rubber ducks down a track (rain gutters) to the finish line first. There's also food like Fiesta Corn, Brisket, Giant pretzels, and adult beverages among other exciting things to consider. They offer four affordable packages ranging from singles to groups, so research ahead of time so you can pick the package that benefits you or your family. Overall, Knutson Farm is a treasure trove tucked away in the Puyallup Valley.

Spring only in Knutson Farms!…read more Tulip town in the south, our go to destination for every Spring. this is the second time we are here and we love it. what we love is the number of activities to keep the my toddler occupied - the cycle track, large bouncy area, bubbles spot, the new hay pyramid was a welcome addition, the barn and the cute animals, the corn pit, the tractor ride to the tulip farm. the tulip farm isn't as grand as the skagit valley but does pleases you heart especially with small props like benches that are kept on the field. the flowers display throughout the farm is very cute. the food scenes could be improved with more additions. the restrooms are the cleanest porta potty you can find on any farm! the lemonade stand is amazing. the OG lemonade is without much sugar and tastes perfect. buying ticket online is recommended as it gives you faster access to the farm than waiting in the line to buy the ticket. plenty of parking available!

Our annual Christmas tree hunt goes not farther than Schilter Family Farm…read more The Thanksgiving week end usually slams this tree farm. However, we always find a quality Noble fir if even we have to hunt a bit. This year was REALLY unusual. The Monday after T Day we went with the idea we'd have to spend time searching. The most helpful young man pointed us to a new field of Nobles. And there, no more than 10 feet in from the path was IT (visions of Clark Griswold!). There were countless more even after that Turkey Day rush. The same man came by in his tractor and asked if he could cut it down for us. He had a chain saw. I had a hand saw. No brainer!! The service and selection are first class. Topping this off is the gift shop, where you pay, has all sorts of Christmas related things, including fresh wreaths (which we bought)

Honestly, my last time here was back in 2022 when I needed furniture myself, so I don't come here very often. The building itself is massive and huge, housing many sections filled with furniture and tools of different kinds like for the kitchen, living room and bathroom, along with rooms for lighting and the warehouse where you can grab your stuff. This isn't even the bulk of it, and we spent a while in here while also getting some dessert! DISCLAIMER: If you're here for just food and/or know how IKEA works, you can skip the next two paragraphs of this review. When you get in, you can pick up a brochure outlining the approximate layout of the building's section and a small pencil. For almost every room, the larger furnitures have numbers on them that correspond to the parts you pick up yourself from their warehouse section, which comes just before the cash registers. There are smaller objects like small lamps, nuts and bolts, fixtures and pots that you can just pick up and put in your cart/bag. Even though each area is numbered a certain way and the map on the brochure looks linear, you can skip sections via shortcuts placed throughout. Otherwise, you follow the nicely placed arrows guiding you through all the sections and just enjoy the placements of some of the things you wanna get. I found myself oogling over the kitchen and bedroom setups every once in a while! Once you're done with all of that, you can purchase your items either through self checkout or at the registers where staff help you. Some of them also stay by the self-checkout areas and assist those who have trouble with some of the features. Some simple tips I have for grabbing objects: - Depending on what you get, make sure you grab ALL the parts for the stuff you get in the warehouse! They're usually clearly labeled but it's easy to miss some of them. - My friend used the IKEA app and came prepared ahead of time with a long list of items he wanted. He used some of the computers spread around the store to help him find which specific room carried the object(s) he was looking for. - Writing the numbers for larger goodies isn't always helpful as you might not remember what an object looks like when you reach the warehouse. I usually take photos of that number along with the object so I can gauge if I'm getting the right things. After doing all that shopping, we stopped by the small cafe just after the cash registers and got ourselves their frozen yogurt, which essentially tastes like vanilla ice cream but has a slightly different consistency from regular ice cream, something I can only describe as being a lot smoother than ice cream and a little tart. The cone it's served in is your standard ice cream cone. From friends who love going here, they advise to go during weekdays when it's not as packed, and to not try the overhype Swedish meatballs either. Since I'm a foodie, I'm gonna do the latter next time I come here!
