While visiting SF I stopped in to review their selection of vape pens, and after a great conversation with the two guys working I decided to purchase a Nimbus. Fast forward two days, I'm finally back home to Seattle and was excited to try my new toy for the first time. I plug it in to charge and notice that the battery unit on the device is showing no life. I waited 2 hours for it to fully charge hoping that this would change but nothing happened. I tried multiple different techniques for getting my nimbus to work but had no success. The very next morning I called the shop to arrange for a refund and was told they its against their store policy to give refunds and I would have to send it back for them to review. I then explained that I was purchasing this for a special Thanksgiving dinner and I couldn't wait up to a week for them to review and replace and I would rather just have a refund so I could purchase close to home. The "co-owner" then proceeded to blame me for being inpatient and living in Seattle and would only give me store credit. The conversation went in circles for the next 5 mins, so I just decided to count my loses and work directly with the product manufacturer. Double-Check all the purchases you make with these guys because even if the purchase is defected they will not refund you. read more

This review is gonna make me sound like a HUGE stoner, which I'm not, but: Adam M and I went here to get a piece for our roomate's 30th birthday. Y'know how head shops tend to inflate the hell out of the prices? $60 for a bubbler? $40 for a decent pipe? Not here. We got a nice bong with an ice-catcher for $60. We actually had to have a long debate about which of the modestly priced water pipes we preferred. Of course if you're a stoner trust fund baby they have your $400 4' tall, inside-out blown, triple diffuser, glass on glass, glow in the dark, therapeutic, artificially intelligent, aerodynamic monstrosities as well. The staff were friendly and fast ("Oh! That one wobbles? Here, let me grab you another... alright, here's a green one a yellow one and a blue. Feel free to swap the bowls around!") and the place was clean and well lit. Everything was also clearly priced, which means you don't have to ask a salesperson about any piece that looks remotely interesting-- a definite plus if for *some* reason you're paranoid... Great smoke shop. Yes, it's a bit commercial, but this store is pretty large, has a great selection, & the customer service is excellent. At $10 a pop, I thought their fake cigarettes were a bit pricey & they break very easily. That's my main complaint - otherwise, I think most things are reasonably priced. The Salvia here is much cheaper than what you would get on St. Mark's in NYC. After some advice from one of the staff here, I tried the 60x. Five minutes of the weirdest visuals I've ever seen... I was visiting san fran with my wife, and stopped off at this shop to get a replacement for my easy vape because it had a chip in it. The guy went to the back to get the replacement, and i opened and looked at it before purchasing. Later, after I had driven back to Colorado, I discovered that they had covered up a large chipped piece with the rubber tube. Great, I bought a chipped piece to replace a chipped piece. It doesn't take much effort to discover they have done this to a number of other people. If they want to take responsibility for their bad practices and the expense of shipping me a replacement they can send me a message on yelp and I will remove this, but otherwise potential customers should consider their reputation for selling bad wares before purchasing. read more

Seamed like they had a pretty good selection however as I was bout to ask for help an older male employee (maybe a manager) yelled at another employee in front of me and my roommate. It was completely uncalled for. By the look on the females face it seamed as if this was a pretty normal thing and it upsets her. There is no reason to yell at another employee on the sales floor. I have no idea what the issue was but even if an employee made a mistake you don't yell at them on the floor in front of costumers. Because of this we decided not to purchase anything I can't support a company that treats its employees like that. I agree that they have a vast selection; however the quality of their bongs is horrible. Bought one of their small size bongs the other day and 2 hours later, the glass cracked. Called up the store to see if I could come by again to get a replacement or to have them check it out since I bought the item 2 hours prior but they blamed me and said they're not going to do anything about it. They walked me through options, educated, fostered and even therapeutically supported my transition off of tobacco and were truly proud of me for taking that step. Didn't buy anything, just browsed but BOY, what a selection. If you have to buy a hookah, pipe or lighter, you have GOT to check out Puff Puff Pass. Never have I seen such a vast array/selection of pipes, lighters and hookahs! They even have a girly section full of mostly pink, blown glass pipes which is kind of cute. Amongst all the smoking paraphernalia, I saw dolphins, Spongebobs, a Marge SImpson and even more animals and what not. The owner is damn well-friendly and very nice. Probably my favorite smoke shop on The Haight. I've never actually bought anything for myself here, but I have bought stuff here for my underage friends lololol don't tell anyone. They have a great selection of good - looking pieces in all price ranges, with some cheaper little ones in the front, and some pricier stuff in the back. There's also always stuff on sale, even though I'm sure every smoke shop always intends to sell their stuff for the "50% off" price that they sell it for to make it seem like you're getting a better deal. Well, it actually is a pretty good deal. My favorite thing about this place, though? Minimal pressure. They will, of course, ask you if you would like to see anything in the case, and even sometimes bring out some options, but for the most part, if you say, "I'm just looking." they won't bug you too much. Prices were great for the location. They could easily charge 15% more for everything and they could get away with it. Best headshop on Haight, hands down. I bought a $30 torch from a different shop and it broke in 10 days. I went to Puff Puff Pass yesterday and told the guy at the counter my story. For $40 he hooked me up with a sweet torch that heats up the nail in less than 15 seconds. He also threw in a dabber and pack of rolling papers.
