Two employees there decided that they were going to discriminate against me as a young black man…read more They both were very rude and when I got into the store to look around and see if I want to get anything, they told me to be in the store I had to show them my id first when this is nowhere at all solely because I looked young. I later went to a shop ( river falls smoke shop) that is also own by the same person and they told me it is not state law for me to HAVE to show my id as soon as I get in there. It was two white employees one female with reddish hair and the other was a white man who tried to intimidate me but just looked like a dude on steroids and no neck. I will not be back and I will make sure others don't go, I will spread the word that this shop is racist towards young black people.

Not all adult establishments have to be skeevy, and Lion's Den is a prime example of a store that…read moreisn't. This store is a two-story retail store. There is an enclosed "adult DVD" section that's away from the rest of the store (I didn't visit and I can't comment on it). There is a separate male and female restroom that doubles as a dressing room - the women's bathroom was spacious and very, very clean. You can find a wide variety of items here. Most of the lower floor is going to be what most people expect when going to an adult store. There's bondage stuff, adult toys, adult books, and lots of lingerie. There were also giant inflatable pool toys and glass parapanelia for tobacco products. The upstairs ia bit more confusing. They sell a lot of clothing and swimsuits upstairs. A lot of the clothing is legitimate clothing - like sweatshirts and tank tops. Most of the clothing style tends to fall under what I'd call "biker" style. A lot of skulls and crossbones, motorcycle references, and things like that. It's not really what I expected to find in an adult store at all. Well-lit and safe-feeling store that doesn't feel shady in the slightest. Doesn't have the largest selection of adult products, and it doesn't feel like a particularly sex-positive type of place (with well-trained staff, etc.), but it doesn't feel bad at all, and if you want to explore adult things solo or with a partner, it's roomy, clean, and leads to a good experience. (Disclosure: The store has a sign that says they request no photography. I assume this is because they want to protect patron's privacy. I was very careful to avoid showing any customers or staff, but I DID want to do photos to show that this is a well-lit, comfortable place to shop.)

I inquired about Blue (the carrot loving dog with adrenal issues) Me:hey where's Blue? I haven't seen him in awhile Store clerk: (flat expression) he's dead Me: (in shock) he's dead? Clerk: yep he's dead Me: I thought maybe you would say it nicer Clerk: well what? He's dead I gave him the chance to correct and realize how cold he sounded and he didn't just double down he tripled down and followed it up with Clerk: yeah and it was a real rough end to he suffered I just stared at him in disbelief as he smirked at me. I left! As I left I explained how incredibly cold and rude he sounded and his last words were I mean he was like family I said "then act like it!" This is th face of your company today. I'm not sure I'd be too proud of that if I were you. Actually I just found out Michael, who I thought was as a clerk is actually the Manager. We got scammed and I feel like a total idiot! I wanted to…read moreshare this store with my teenage daughter since I had gone to Maharaja's when I was her age. It USED TO BE COOL. We pulled on the door around 1:00 on a weekday afternoon. The door was locked but a store employee came and let us in. We looked around and my daughter liked the t-shirts and tapestries. We got to talking with the owner and I had mentioned I had come to Maharaja's when it was housed in the larger store. He said that it is next door and we can have a tour. We went next door and took a look at the black light room. On our way out my daughter found a shirt that the owner said was a one of a kind shirt by a local graffiti artist, Kater. He gave his price, which was EXPENSIVE. We decided to purchase the shirt. After the fact, we found out it was not one of a kind. Embarrassing. I want to share our experience so others can avoid this store.
