To begin, I waited about 20 minutes just to find parking, then stood in line for approximately two and a half hours. Despite that, I stayed in good spirits because I came prepared with a detailed list of edibles, along with plans to purchase an ounce or two and some moon rocks. Since I live out of state, it was especially important for me to clearly communicate my order and double-check everything before leaving.
The associate who helped me (name possibly Uleane or Juline, she refused to raise her voice) immediately came across as uninterested and disengaged. I don't want to assume anything beyond poor customer service, but the interaction felt uncomfortable from the start. The store was loud, yet she made no effort to speak clearly or ensure I could hear her. She spoke extremely quietly, often seeming like she was mouthing words, and repeatedly backed away from the register while speaking, making communication even more difficult. At times, her demeanor made me question whether she was overly inebriated.
She also seemed unfamiliar with the inventory and hesitant to ask coworkers for help. At one point, she stopped looking for an item entirely and didn't mention it again until I prompted her to check the back. This lack of initiative and communication added to the frustration.
When about 80% of my order had been gathered, I asked to pause so I could verify everything for accuracy, especially important given I was already noticing incorrect items being pulled several times. Her response was shockingly unprofessional: she became visibly irritated and dumped the contents of my bag across the counter in a passive-aggressive manner. Even a nearby coworker appeared confused by her behavior.
Instead of allowing me to review the items, she began rapidly counting them. When I clarified that my concern was accuracy, not quantity, she scoffed, rolled her eyes, and insisted, "I got everything you asked for," while continuing to bag items without addressing my request. I calmly explained that I needed to verify, but her attitude remained dismissive and hostile, so I quickly ran through my list.
Due to the tension, I asked her to complete only one of my transactions so I could work with another associate. My boyfriend, who was with me, happened to be having a much better experience with another associate named Celeste.
While Celeste initially seemed friendly, there was another issue that left a bad impression. At some point, it appears my original associate shared a biased version of our interaction with her. Toward the end, Celeste began speaking negatively about another customer, referring to her as a "b**ch" and making comments about giving her a free preroll so she could "chill the f*ck out," along with other flippant remarks. At the time, we didn't realize she was indirectly referring to me, so we didn't engage, due to how inappropriate it was. It was only after leaving and discussing everything that we made the connection. I want to be clear that I'm not trying to police the tone of a dispensary environment, it should be fun, but this is still a business, and professionalism and respect matter.
It was especially disappointing because we had tipped Celeste generously, all while unknowingly being spoken about in that way.
Unfortunately, my concerns about order accuracy were validated after leaving. I was charged for an item I never requested, received incorrect gummy flavors, and was missing several items I had intended to purchase, issues I specifically tried to prevent by reviewing the order in-store.
To make matters worse, I followed up with an email about this experience and never received any reply or acknowledgement, which only adds to the disappointment.
I visited multiple dispensaries on 4/20, and every other one provided exceptional service. That contrast made this experience stand out even more negatively. While I used to enjoy shopping here, this interaction, combined with the lack of follow-up, has significantly changed my perception. I will not be returning. read more
