I specifically was seeking out Sky River Bakery on 3/15/25. I lucked out with a nearby parking spot and had an opportunity to check out the pastry case offerings while in line. There's also a few tables to dine at onsite. Pleasant small town, neighborhood feel. Both folks behind the counter were welcoming and kindly answered my questions. Nice assortment of beverages and baked goods available like biscuits, cinnamon rolls, cookies, muffins, cupcakes, and other pastries. The person ahead of me made it a point to have biscuits and gravy plus cinnamon rolls to go. Cinnamon roll got my attention! I ended up ordering a ham & cheese biscuit - got two mini ones for the price of one, plus a cinnamon roll. The latter kept really well refrigerated which I later ate for breakfast before work during the week. Nice that it was a manageable size and not too cloying with glaze...Goldilocks just right, lol. Enjoyed this destination detour and thanks to fellow Yelp Elites, Craig and Earnie for putting this on my radar screen!

The latte was really good, but I wished the savory bread had more filling. The flavor was nice tho. The person who helped us was very nice. We finally decided on a hazelnut cake (that she actually grinds hazelnuts into the flour), with layers of poached pear (in pear liqueur) mousse and caramel mousse, with buttercream frosting. It was better than we could have ever hoped for, and many of our friends and family commented on it being the best cake they had every tried! We are counting the days to our "anniversary" cake that Judy will be providing us next year!

We had a lot of fun exploring the different cake and specialty shops, with elaborate displays with many options to taste and choose from. Even at Judy's shop there were so many options. But she stood out because of her insistence on high quality ingredients, a perfection of layering light layers of cake with multiple mouse and fruit fillings, and her great focus on service and quality. My favorite part, besides eating the cake, was getting a computer generated preview of exactly what our cake would look like. Really, how cool is that? At our tasting she had the typical array of options, but she also had incredible combinations and flavors in mind that we didn't see anywhere else. The options weren't overwhelming either because Judy was careful to provide good constraints and recommendations on what goes with what. Not only that, she took great concern for the actual day of delivery considering weather and time of delivery. She warned us the cakes wouldn't be there by the time we arrived if it was too warm, so when that happened we didn't sweat. They magically appeared sometime after the ceremony and well before cake cutting time - they were on display and all. She came in and out like a ninja, we never saw her! In summary: amazing cake, great for foodies and serious cake eaters, fantastic service, and comfortable collaboration all the way through.

So far living in this area for quite some time now, I have not yet come to a point where the doughnuts where not good. Each time I have come in they have tasted fresh and you know they change their oil often. Have you had a place where you can taste that the oil has not been changed for quite some time? I have. This place has not given me that and it shows. The person that owns this place is always friendly as well and makes me comfortable with a quick chat before having to go back and make another batch of doughnuts. It is always super clean in the shop, but it is not a place to sit and eat. Definitely go in and grab the goodies and be on your next destination type of area. I really enjoy the fritters here and the maple bars. No crazy fancy doughnuts here if that's what you're looking for. But they do have bacon maple bars.

Nothing too grand and great but, if you want some fresh out the fryer doughnuts, they have it. The coffee is okay, I like a more robust tasting coffee roast and I feel like they use a more medium or light roast coffee. (not sure) The folks that work here get real busy and may get agitated by the time you get to put in your order. I am local here, so I see this often when I come and grab coffee. Its not bad where I have had too much experienced someone with an extremely bad attitude but we are human and have our days. The stand looks clean and well kept. I am not a big fan of the biscuits and gravy which they have here and I am not rating based off of that but I think it would be good to mention this for folks to know, it is not for me.
