The area is beautiful. Some staff are friendly & helpful, others seem irritated to speak with campers. Our 40 ft camper & long bed truck fit nicely into the semi-level pull-thru space. Yet, getting into & out of the truck was treacherous due to the drop offs on the sides. The tall, unmowed grass was deceiving & falling down hill was a real concern. They locked hot tub, the guest had to request them to unlock it -- feels creepy. Admittedly, I had to change my reservation due to grandbaby's early arrival & I made a mistake. However, I caught it, called them, rather than adding the extra days to current reservation--they made a new one. When I arrived, I pointed this out. Yet, I had to check out & recheck back in. I didn't have to move camping sites -- so that was a plus. We've stayed at many KOAs this one seems to have no pride of ownership. Great Stay at Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA We had a wonderful stay at the Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA! The park was clean, quiet, and very well maintained. The sites were level, paved, and easy to access, with some trees offering a bit of shade and privacy. The hookups were easy to get to, which made setup quick and simple. The staff was super friendly and welcoming -- they even escorted us to our site and let us know their hours in case we needed anything. It's a peaceful, well-run KOA that made for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Highly recommend this location! read more

this was the cleanest most friendly park we stayed at on our trip. Park gives a Veterans discount, which always helps. Staff were very friendly, putting us near the dog park in a nice pull through. Rubens (owner) was great to talk with, giving me some background on the park, & his desires to make it the best around. This park is wayyyyyyyy out of town, so no city noise or light pollution. Showers were great with lots of hot water. Nice big playground & fenced in dog runs. They have cabins on site. Their team leads you out to the parking spot in a golf cart, even offering to help set up (which I passed on). on Rubens recommendation I bought the most outstanding custom made TV cable wires I have ever seen. No more dealing with the crappy little nuts on the cables. I you can pass on through Colorado Springs & drive a little farther south to this wonderful place. WE WILL BE BACK! read more

Just another crappy park that spends $500 at tractors supply for bs outdoor activities but isn't actually accommodating in any way. Pool is basic and looks like it belongs in the ghetto. The "hot tub/sauna" area is a hot tub that's locked up with chains right next to the front desk and the maintenance barn for a majority of the day, including the times a person would actually want to enjoy it. Also better hope you don't have two vehicles because you can hear your neighbor shitting. The best thing about this park is something they had absolutely nothing to do with, it's the views. This is not your typical stuffy KOA with tons of rules and regulations. Very relaxed and enjoyable. There were two family reunions going on and it was amazing to watch people truly enjoying themselves. The staff was very attentive. I had a reservation here and after driving 9 hours I ended up at the Pueblo KOA in Pueblo. I was very tired and the Pueblo KOA put me up for the night. This KOA Pueblo South refused to give me any kind of refund. I paid $75 cancelation fee. I have never been treated so poorly. Nope. Hit the KOA before or after. The staff is rude and argumentative. We stayed here a year ago and it was nice but changes have obviously taken place. Brianna should be fired. The rest of the staff won't even acknowledge you. Hannah and her family were the only pleasant people. The grass is ankle deep. The pool pump is broken. The spa is chained up. There's no poop bags but don't bother because you can't find the poop the weeds are so high. The staff BS's in front of you in the office/store. There are thugs living in a cabin that play music all day. Harleys wake you up at 5:30am. Chalk it up to Poor management. Been here 4 days. Left for KOA Wellington and Victoria is as kind as can be. We stayed in a Deluxe Kabin for 2 nights. Booking was easy on the app. Kabin was very clean and stocked. The Window unit keep the place cold. The front porch was a nice touch to be able to sit and relax day or night, with a view! The place was quiet and clean. Everyone was friendly. We played golf and enjoyed the park. This was the second time we have been first in a RV. We highly recommend this place. Pool is under construction. read more

Love this little Gem ! We got in probably around 6:30 last night. And Ashley helped us out. She was very friendly and helpful on the phone and in person . Very sweet lady. We told her we are new to RV'ing and she was more than accommodating. She put us in a spot where we did not have to disconnect. And also made sure we had help to go with us. His name Tom. Another very nice and helpful person. He's the grounds keeper. He stayed with us until we were comfortable and answered a LOT OF QUESTIONS that I had about my trailer and camping. He was awesome! He lives on property and told us if we had any issues to knock on his trailer. Very nice!! Park: overall very clean and lots of spaces. Benches everywhere, playground , laundry room, showers , hot tub, and gift shop has lots of cool things you might need or forgotten. They do have firepits but because the fires your not allowed to have a campfire. Playground closes at dark . Very nice experience and stay. We arrived here in a freak snow storm and loved loved loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the fact that we could go to the restaurant up the hill before the storm really hit. The cabin was amazing. The tiny room with bunk beds was a hit with the kids. It was perfect for us. Two adults and three kids. If we stop by in the summer time we will definitely be staying here and using the BBQ pit on the porch. read more

The weather took a turn for the worse, so instead of camping like we had originally planned to do...we searched for a low budget cabin with last minute RSVP. This place was great! Not only did they take my RSVP, but they gave me a discount. When we arrived...they even led us (by golf cart) to our cabin as it was dark and late at night. This was our first time staying at a KOA cabin and I can say that we were pleased with the results. I actually felt a bit spoiled as there was a TV, mini fridge,microwave, coffee pot and portable heater in the cabin...I was kinda expecting to rough it. Im thinking this is my first "Glamping" experience. My two boys loved it, as well...especially the bunk beds. The only cons... 1) If we wanted a fire pit, it would have cost extra. Lucking, they had a grill so that we could still cook...but nothing beats that open fire experience. 2) Too close to the interstate...would have been preferable to be in more of a secluded location. 3) The internet stated that the hot tub was open year round...It wasn't. All in all...I give this place 4 out of 5 stars. If it wasn't for those few cons, I'd give it 5 stars. However, Thank you to the staff/owners for your kindness and hospitality. My kids and I truly enjoyed our stay and we will be back come spring or summer. read more

Everyone we interacted with that worked at the campground was so nice! They were very accommodating and let us borrow an adapter to hook up our camper. Very clean bathrooms and even had a dog area. The views are pretty. We went to Three Sisters for dinner and it was very good! Just 5 min from the site. We will be back. read more

We needed a place to overnight on our way home to Albuquerque. This KOA had space and were very pleasant when we called late in the day for a reservation. They guide you to your space and the lot was very level making parking and setup easy. If you have kids there is a play ground and little mini golf for them. Though just off I-25 it doesn't have really loud highway noise. read more

We stayed one night in our 37' motor home. Our site was graveled, with the back right side lower than the rest, requiring auto-leveling. Best wifi we've had at an RV site; accessed quickly and never dropped the signal. We had a nice view and no problems with sulfur smell that other visitors have experienced. There is a decent dog park. We didn't use any amenities, but several are listed on the handout. There was no option for delivery of food to campsite from local restaurants. Cable connection was good, with a large assortment of channels. Easy access off of the interstate. read more

New owners. Guess they need some time to get their feet on the ground. Some of the staff is friendly some not so much. RV sites adequate, bathrooms clean, putt putt course needs new fabric. Washer and dryers are old. Make sure you have lots of quarters because the dryers don't dry very well. Had a catered chicken dinner, chicken was dry, fries were the frozen kind, not crispy, rolls- no butter. Lemonade and ice tea - no ice. Meeting room is ok. Have fenced in dog areas. Hopefully when we come next year the new owners will have their feet on the ground and we can give a higher rating. read more

We made a reservation with this campground 6 months ago. We received an updated confirmation from the campground a week before our scheduled arrival. Two days later, 5 days before our scheduled arrival, the campground called us to cancel our reservation, ostensibly because the person who presently occupies the site had a heart attack. However, the campground stated that the present occupant has been a permanent resident and occupies a monthly site, whereas we reserved a short-term, pull-through site. Ostensibly, the campground had no other sites for us. Our suspicions are raised by the fact that the campground was trying to assign us a monthly site when we had reserved a short-term site. The campground representative stated that "all the other sites" were taken by folks who had been yearly regulars. We find the campground's explanation unbelievable and we believe that, due to the unfortunate camper's heart attack, other campers were shifted around and into the site we reserved, and that we were arbitrarily cancelled. If this was the case, we find this highly unprofessional. read more

First, let me start by saying that this is a pretty nice KOA as KOA's go. That is about where it ends. Customer service is horrendous!!! We were traveling with two other couples and we reserved our campsites a few months in advance. When we reserved the sites, we saw that we could not pick a site. We called the KOA and asked them if they could put us all together. They said, certainly, no problem. A week before we arrived, we called them again and asked them if they could put us together. Again, they said no problem. The day we arrived one of the couples got their a couple of hours before the rest of us. When they checked in, they told the reservation clerk that they wanted three sites together. They said, no problem, we will give you sites 4, 5 and 6. About an hour after our first couple got settled, the camp escort put a camper in site 5 (one of our sites). The couple immediately contacted the desk clerk and told them of the situation. They acknowledge the issue and moved the camper from site 5. About an hour later, the camp escort, put someone in site 6 (another one of our sites). The couple called the desk clerk and they said that they would send the manager over. The manager flat out told them that they were not going to move the campers from site 6 and that if they didn't like it, they could find some place else to camp. I have never heard or seen such poor customer service in my life. We had sites reserved well in advance and the management was so rude. We ended up in a site that was so muddy that the dogs tracked mud in our new bus. We could not even hang outside as it was so sloppy and muddy. To make matters even more frustrating, the grounds crew was mowing on Saturday. The busiest day of the week. We used to love to camp at this KOA, but we will NEVER camp here again as long as this management is there. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE! I have both worked and camped at many a KOA. The owners of this KOA are the rudest that I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. I dread having to stay or utilize any of the facilities there. When I have purchased only showers or propane, water, etc in the past, I was treated like a 2nd class citizen. They asked me to park on the opposite side of the park, as the open lot that I was in was reserved for overnight (big money) patrons (seriously I was the only person in a 5 car lot). I recommend holding off for Colo Springs, or Alamosa, or somewhere in New Mexico if that's your direction; just DON'T stay here. read more

We don't usually choose a KOA to camp. However, this trip we diid and we were pleasantly surprised! The park was very well maintained. And offered many amenities such as miniature golf, swimming pool, horseshoes, clubhouse and frisbee golf. Not to mention a well stocked convenience store and laundry facilities. We had trouble connecting to the cable, mostly due to operator error and received expert help in figuring out the problem. One of the best places we have stayed. read more

We came down the mountain from a hunting trip to dump the Waste in the Camper and wanted to park the truck/trailer for 30 minutes while we grabbed a bite to eat. The owner said nope, we can go find another place to park where it is free even though we paid to dump and use the facilities. Rude service at this KOA. read more
