Oh, Publix. We used to be friends. That is, until I started coming to this brand new and utterly crappy store you've just opened.
First, you tore down my favoritest mid-century shop in the whole world to build yet another fug strip mall on US1. Strike one.
No offense Publix, but did we really need another Publix shopping center that will remain empty except for the Publix (that will likely pick up and locust another strip mall in a few years)? I hate to remind that there is literally a Publix right over the bridge. And what about that once-thriving strip mall in downtown Jensen you just abandoned? You leave her high and dry?
Second, I wasn't sure if you had saved the jobs of those people who working at the old location, but it turns out you did.
I found out two ways: 1) by asking my Grandma and 2) realizing that the same old creepy dudes who would leer at me and stare at my breasts at the old location are still the same old creepy dudes who continue to stare at my breasts when I walk into the bright and shiny new Publix. Even under new lighting, it is still INAPPROPRIATE and HIGHLY DISCONCERTING.
Thanks for saving these creepy old dudes' jobs, but seriously, can you add it somewhere in your training manual TO STOP STARING UNCOMFORTABLY AT THE WELL-HIDDEN BREASTS OF WOMEN SHOPPING IN THE STORE????
Speaking of creepy old dudes, can we talk about the creepy old dudes who absolutely REFUSE to let you take your own cart into the parking lot?
Seriously, if I tell you I am fine to push my own cart, then JUST LET IT GO.
Don't, for example, push me out of the way, grabbing the cart from my hands telling me that you're walking me to my car.
Don't, for example, walk a few feet before calling over another creepy old dude to push the cart WHEN I AM PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF PUSHING THE CART SO MYSELF.
Don't, for example, allow that a-hole to AGAIN push me away from the cart even after I tell him too that I AM PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF PUSHING THE CART (AND, GET THIS, UNLOADING MY OWN GROCERIES!!) MYSELF.
Honestly, I shouldn't have to explain 16 times that I am going to use my able-body to push the cart and unload my groceries myself.
I even promise to use my able-body and put it in the cart corral. If there weren't so many freaking creepy dudes, I would even walk it back up to the store.
Lastly, who the eff do you think is shopping at this store? I am sorry, I shop at Whole Foods and get organic breads and produce and all kinds of amazing goodies for cheaper than this location. How is that possible? Are you not aware that we are in a recession? That your store is located right smack in the middle of an economically depressed area? Why on Earth is your pricing so much higher than your other stores?
Ok, sorry for all the hate. Get it together! We know you can do it! read more
