We stopped by the Deli today, because you can sit inside and have your hot food from the deli right there. It was very nice upstairs, super clean and very relaxing. The BBQ Brisket sandwich is fabulous. The only issue was the Philly Cheese wrap, was smaller than anticipated, and over filled with onions. It was only about 3"-4", and about 1" thick, the ones I have receive in the past at other locations were always bigger. After I got most of the onions off, it was very good. Not sure why but the deli counter person didn't seem like they were having a good day, hope his day got better.... Sometimes it's an off day. read more

I ordered a cake Friday that made totally wrong for a special woman and the sissy manager took 3 times to help me, had to pow-wow, then shove a refund (in 7 days of course) and NEVER offered to make a new one. Order 1712-8881. Came ALL RED. Then the jackass called today and lectured me because Corporate called him to do his job. He said I agreed to his LIES !! I wanted a new cake but sissy Publix millennial shoved this and made me wait a week, then tells me he "thought" I agreed, I did no such thing. LIAR LIAR. This is the Publix by the Tomoka Oaks and Trails neighborhood. They remodeled the whole store and it looks really nice but honestly the selection is "ehh." One thing that is actually really irritating is the Deli. The employees are super nice but it's super slow. You'll have about 3-4 people back there slicing up meat and cheese but one person actually helping customers. Then that person has to set up and take down with each order and takes his/her time doing it. PROS: - Néw store - staff is really nice - great bakery bread - good selection of yogurt and creamer - have BOGO when you walk in - cosmic apples available - Olive bar, it's okay - sandwich is tasty but super slow CONS: - baby diapers and food selection sucks. No nighttime diapers for babies and baby food selection is lame - bakery never has little fruit tarts and if they do it always has oranges on them (allergic) - Apple chicken sausage never available - always out of white cheddar jalapeño Cheetos - wine prices are really too high - finding more unique foods that are carb conscious, organic, or paleo is really challenging - the food bar food is drenched is whatever oil they use that it makes the food taste funny. Even their fried food isn't a guilty pleasure Sandwich counter is so slow - expensive. Plain and simple this store is expensive For the prices they have they should just transition to be more like a Publix/Whole Foods type of store. This Publix is clean, &has caring customer service. The Deli department is great, fresh foods at a value . The Publix brand is dependable quality. All Staff who I encountered here are super helpful. Today I went to get my sub I ordered online and it was made quickly, and correctly but during my check out process and customer service, the young lady Megan was not inviting and seemed to have an attitude. I may be wrong but see just scanned my items and looked at me like I was crazy. She did not speak one word at all. I generally have never had a bad experience at Publix at and of the locations I've been to but today wasn't the average experience. I really needed to speak in this because this isn't the normal service I have come to love and appreciate over the years. Great customer service is the biggest reason I've chosen to go to Publix compared to going to the competitors. Maybe she needs to be retrained in customer service and customer appreciation, making the customer feel welcomed. read more

Not a fan of this Publix. The parking lot makes no sense, as if it were designed by a 4 year old with an etch a sketch. It's ridiculous. The store itself is older and a bit out of date. Not being from around here we needed some assistance while visiting this store. We had great customer service. Another local location was not as successful as this one. We needed some soy milk in the carton. The other location had none. After getting directed to the right aisle by friendly staff we had a number of choices to choose from. Yea! While checking out we were happy and surprised to find that we could get extra cash on our debit card purchase - for no fee! A super added bonus! Very happy with our experience here. read more

So.. I don't even know where to start. I went to Publix on Sunday, December 16. I bought a package of hamburger that was in date until Monday, December 17. Well, last night, I'm in my kitchen, making dinner and I take a big whiff of the meat. Welp, the meat was ROTTEN. I was so disappointed that my $7 package of ground beef was spoiled and it hadn't expired yet. Note: I have changed the names of the employees that I had contact with. Let me set the scene: It's Sunday, around 2pm and I, like many other shoppers have crowded the store. I went to the deli first like I always do and then I hit the meat counter. Another customer brings it to the attention of the staff in the meat department, that the meat cooler was warm, like they had the heat on. "Mike" stated that the cooler had been placed on defrost because the meat was frozen. So, I figured, "okay, if they are just defrosting the meat today, if I have it in the refrigerator, it will still be good tomorrow." I called the store as I am cooking the meat and filling my house with the stench of rotten cow. "Rebecca" apologized profusely and told me that I could bring the package in for a refund or an exchange. I arrived at the Customer Service counter and she asked if I wanted another package of meat and I told her that I did not. "Rebecca" opened the bag that I placed the package in and she herself got a big whiff of the stench. She gladly gave me a refund for the price of the meat and I left, vowing to never eat cow again. read more

I love Publix. However this is not my favorite in town, hence the four stars. I don 't know it it is the unfamiliar aisles or what but I like my Publix at Ormond Towne Square much more. The staff are super friendly and the store for the most part is clean and well maintained. Biggest complaint would have to be how expensive the food is getting, especially produce when compared to other stores. The neighborhood Publix is convenient for sure, but often times I just don't leave with as much groceries as I would expect when shopping somewhere else like Walmart or Target. Overall though Publix has great selection and the boars head deli section definitely makes visiting a must. The buffalo chicken subs here are some of the best I've ever had, although like I mentioned with the food in general it's a bit on the expensive side. The bakery section has bread on the cheaper side that tastes great though, so it's not all bad. It also appears the store will be expanding soon, so additional space should widen the selection even more. read more

I have been to a lot of grocery stores over the years and in general Publix Stores are the best. They stores are clean and the staff are well trained, friendly and knowledgable. They seem to be really motivated to work there as well, which is a refreshing change from the rest you can find what you need for the most part and it's not hard to find buy one get one and other sales. read more

Don't get me wrong, I generally love Publix. I wouldn't shop anywhere else. I do, however, have a few misgivings about this particular store. Firstly, this store is way too small for the area that it is in. Ormond Beach is booming, but this store is not keeping up with the times. It is located smack in the center of town, which is terrific, but this store does not compare with the store located further out of town. There is no pharmacy in this location. Many seniors frequent this store because of its location. Seniors don't want to go next door to CVS to get drugs and other incidentals, they need to get everything they in one place. I take my 90 year old mother there because it is close to her house and let her walk around on her own to shop. I usually have to stand somewhere because there are absolutely no chairs to make the wait more bearable. Also, many seniors, my mom included, need to sit for a moment to catch their breath or rest their legs. Let's get with the program, Publix. read more
