Despite having plenty of employees on the floor, service was extremely slow. The employee making my sub openly complained to her coworker about items not being stocked and moved at an exaggeratedly slow pace the entire time. I ordered one of the simplest subs possible, yet she kept walking away and taking unnecessary trips back and forth. At one point, another employee was standing behind the counter and asked if I was being helped. I honestly said I didn't know, because the woman making my sub kept walking away and disappearing. Even after telling her three separate times to add mayo, she still forgot it. The customer behind me finished their order before mine, which made the delay feel intentional. Other customers were clearly irritated, including a group of teens openly commenting on how slow the service was. A man even tried to skip me in line, saying he needed to rush back to work. The lack of professionalism continued throughout the area. A young male behind the counter called the woman next to me "sweetie" and placed the price tag from her sub on his own shirt as a placeholder while working. It was strange, unhygienic, and uncomfortable to watch. I hadn't had a Publix sub in a long time and was looking forward to it, but this location has seriously gone downhill. Poor attitudes, no urgency, and behavior that doesn't belong in a professional food-service environment. Very disappointing. It is very bright and welcoming as well. They have a small deli area where you can get Boars Head provisions. They have fresh chicken, frozen fish, produce (of course!) and many other grocery items. I find with most farmers markets that I always need to go to Publix after to pick up a few missing pieces. However, I feel that Produce City has enough where you can actually skip a Publix trip! This time I grabbed some large Portabella mushrooms that are grown in California, broccoli grown in Canada, grape tomatoes grown in Virginia. Butter, milk, and eggs for baking are always reasonably priced. I don't buy meat or fish here. Cheese, turkey breast, nuts, and beans are wonderful sources of protein often better priced than any other stores. The items I love are blueberry ghost cheese, baby mozzarella, chick peas, and provolone cheese. Did I forget the snack isle? Their chocolate from Germany is excellent. Around Christmas, they have Marzipan stollen which is hard to find in South Florida. There is C another 1,000 reasons to shop here, don't knock it until you try it.
