Unfortunately for me everyone here is a smoker. I had to step through a cloud of smoke to get to the front door while stepping over numerous cigarette butts all over the ground. Yuck. I came by because I saw on Instagram that they had the viral Chinese Propitious Mango ice cream by Tao Q. It is a mango flavored frozen mousse or ice cream on a wooden stick and covered in a thin layer of white chocolate. No actual mango is involved in the making of one. They also have other flavors like peach and lemon and one with jelly in the middle. I believe they usually sell for around $6 but they get $8 for one here. Having finally tried one I was not impressed and my curiosity has been fully satisfied. I also picked up one of viral Dubai chocolate bars. It is made with milk chocolate, pistachio butter, and crispy toasted kataifi pastry. It did not have a price on it and I should have asked. It was $14 for a small bar! I really wanted the more affordable Trader Joe version but they sold out in one hour and they haven't come back in. I haven't tried the one I bought here yet but fingers crossed that it is worth $14. One not great ice cream and a small chocolate bar ended up costing $22. As I was trying to check out I had the added entertainment of watching the cashier attempt to be rude to a customer and she was not having it and dishing it right back.
