Went in this evening. Waited in line behind an employee to get his chicken out of the case. As soon as Bruce got done with the Publix employee he proceeded to go and handle the trash. I was standing right there. I defend the exorbitant prices at Publix because it's where I grew up shopping. Unfortunately ever since Sonja left this location it is absolutely horrendous. Customer service needs some attention and Bruce needs a stearn talking to. read more

I love the Sushi station employees here as well as the Pharmacy employees. I will say that stopping here on my lunch breaks is missed. It truly was a pleasure shopping here with the employees. The disgruntled, inconsiderate seasonal traffic not so much. The people who worked here were kind. I once was in check out and went to pay when I realized my debit card was missing. Rather than letting me come back to pay after work, the cashier used a card and paid for my $10 tab herself. So kind. I went back to repay her with a gift but I never did see her again. This Publix truly does care about their community. And it is a pleasure to shop here. read more

Whenever I vacation in Florida, Publix is the place to go to stock up on groceries and other essentials. And unlike in PA, they can actually sell liquor in addition to beer and wine. It really is your one-stop shop. One thing surprised me, though - their hoagies are really friggin' good. There's a super wide selection, and you can choose to have them made with Boar's Head delicatessen meats, cheeses and condiments for an extra $1 or so. Maybe my palette sucks, but I couldn't really tell the difference between their normal deli meat and the Boar's Head. The good news is they both tasted delicious. So if you don't really care about getting name-brand meats, just go with the regular stuff. I placed my sandwich order online where you could easily see what was discounted (they usually have a sub of the week that is $1 off) and make various customizations. Perhaps my favorite feature was the oil & vinegar packets. You know when you order a sub with oil & vinegar but you can't eat it all in one sitting? So then the oil & vinegar just makes everything soggy when you go to eat it later. Publix has these little O&V packets, which I have never seen before. This way, you can apply it as you see fit. I wish I had a million of these little guys. They would seriously come in handy - not just for sandwiches, but for marinades, cooking, salads, etc. It was about a two years ago when I was searching for the best national hoagie. Whether it be a chain or convenience store like Wawa or Sheetz, I wanted to know. I was legit surprised to see people claiming Publix - a grocery store - had some of the best hoagies they ever ate. But now I realize, they weren't lyin'. I have seen the light, and now I'm a believer. read more

Tried to order a sub at 7:00 pm, two hours before they close. Was told by an employee furiously cleaning, that they were short staffed, no subs. Ridiculous. Heard a couple in the parking lot say she could only get cold sandwich cause the deli was closed. Who is in charge here? Constantly telling people Publix is miles above the rest but I literally could not be more disappointed tonight. read more

Went to get something at the deli case where they serve. The hot food stood there for over 15 minutes kept telling me it just be another minute just be another minute. I don't know how many minutes it could be, but will never come back to the store ever again went and spoke with the manager all he could say was I'm sorry 1000 times do something about it don't say I'm sorry. read more

Well, I typically look forward to my visits to Publix when in the south but this one fell a little short of the shiny and festive versions I've visited historically. The produce section was oddly located in a back corner along with the bakery and meat counter. Typically, these fun and visual sections are placed near the front. The bakery staff was friendly and offered us a cake sample while we were selecting which was super sweet. We also noticed this location could us a bike rack at the entrance. Overall, it was just fine but not as beautiful as some of the others we've experienced in the past. read more

Whenever we're down South, this is our, "Go To" market for everyday needs. Great produce and a really great bakery department. I'd put them at a notch or two above Shop Rite up here in the North. read more

I've never been given such horrible treatment at a such a respected chain retail store. Yelp advertises this store closes at 10 pm. However, I arrived at 9 pm only to be given the most hateful treatment informing me "we are closed." In addition, the middle-aged hateful woman who apparently was self appointed in turning people away was extremely rude and almost seemed to find satisfaction in declining my patronage. I think this is Florida's Stop and Shop? Am I right? The stores were easy to navigate and the prices were great. I have no real complaints and it was great that they serve beer and wine, and the Publix Liquor Store is right next door, that was a convenient and welcomed surprise. They have it all, it is a super market of course. The produce looked fresh, the meats looked like meat, and the aisles had things of food and other categories in them. The aisles were clean, and then staff is friendly and conversational, so that is always welcomed. I will be back if I ever visit Englewood again, or in many years if I choose to retire to this particular area. read more
