I absolutely love this Publix. Their deli sandwiches are a staple for me, and their Wednesday sushi sale is honestly one of the best deals around -- the quality is consistently great. The produce section always catches my eye too -- the colors are so vivid, especially the way the fruit is arranged, it almost reminds me of a 1960s psychedelic poster. I try to pick up something new each visit, and you never know what you'll discover -- a fruit you've never tried before that turns out to be amazing. Kind of like how a long-lost color video of Led Zeppelin performing was recently rediscovered in a university archive, footage nobody knew still existed, filmed here on the sacred ground where this Publix now stands, back when the location of this Publix was home to Thee Image Club, a legendary psychedelic rock venue in the late '60s. Their natural preserve jams are a favorite of mine too -- they always makes me think of those groovy musical jams. And of course, no visit is complete without their cookies -- genuinely one of my favorite treats, sweet, soft, and I still don't know their secret recipe. Funny enough, it reminds me a little of the mystery around the Grateful Dead's six shows at Thee Image Club back in 1968 -- no known recordings exist, just the memories of the people who were actually there. Some things stay a mystery, and somehow that makes them even better. There is a magic to this Publix -- you can feel the groove in the air, the memory of what it once was and the presence of what it now is. This Publix was absolutely divine. I have been to other locations across Florida, but this particular one which was less than a three minute walk from the condo was not only convenient, but every staff member we encountered on every single day we came here which were all different we're so incredibly friendly, quick and helpful. For example, the staff at the deli counter lets you try the food before you buy the food, which is really unique and different. When we were going up and down the aisles, the staff would actually ask you if you needed help finding anything which is also not common here in my hometown area. Further, all the cashiers were super friendly and looked and sounded very happy and always smiling regardless of what day or time we came in for example we actually came in on some days very early and and we also had some late night visits when we thought of some last minute items as well. The new managers Karen & Vik (a man) on photo in this Publix in Sunny Isles are absolutely rude, harassing, with a total lack of professionalism. They had been rude to me at customers service for a small matter in violation of Publix policies. Before I walked away Not to forget their names I quickly snapped a photo of their badge name as they refused to provide & I didn't have a pen on me to write. After I left They followed me through entire store into the exit, than all the way outside through parking all the way to my car taking video of me. I waited till they left and they seemed did but instead they were hiding behind the column. When I approached with my car that only exit, they came out of hiding place & continued taking videos of me and my car all the time till I drove away!!! Now this is another level of CRAZY, HARASSING, HUMILIATING MANAGERS! This store has reputation harassing children & now These 2 Publix Employees are stocking customers!!!! Ive shopped in Publix for 25y! the stocking & making videos is just Publix Sunny Isles hit rock button low managers behaviour. The best Publix in my opinion. Sales associates and managers are always extremely friendly! They've seen us multiple times so they always stop and say hi. Bakery is great always a good variety, deli is usually packed so we place our orders online sometimes but depending on how packed it is it might take longer than expected. The chicken tenders and wedges are delicious at Publix so we normally get those when we don't feel like cooking. Great selection of stuff and shelves are always stocked. Recently reopened & newly remodeled Publix on Collins Ave. and the only one in this particular area. The new Publix has a unique structure with the covered parking garage on top of the market. You then take the elevator to the ground floor market. The market is new so it's clean and well-stocked. It's also big & bright. The staff in the departments (bakery, pharmacy, customer service & cashiers) I've visited have been cheerful & friendly. I don't particularly care for the parking situation but on the plus side you're protected from the elements (rain/sun). read more

Plenty of Bentley's, Rolls', and Ferrari's abound not to mention the classics. It's like the who's who of cars out here. Nice over sized elevators, just sayin'. You have to consider or at least should, rent and real estate not including location, location, location's got to push prices up somewhat justifiably so though I didn't notice so much "priced for your convenience" prices. This was my local Publix when living in FL, and it was excellent! The parking garage takes you to an elevator so you can enter the Publix store. If you're new to Publix grocery stores, the best things in my opinion are the BAKERY, Publix-brand iced teas, and last but not least the Fried Chicken and Subs. I've had the pies, cookies, and cakes from here and each time it was been fresh. The sweet or unsweet teas they have in half-gallons (Publix brand) are also delicious! The fried chicken is what they're famous for, and usually people around dinner time would be grabbing the ready-made packs of fried chicken under the heat lamp, so be sure to get there early !!! They DO get busy & run out! If there isn't fried chicken, or you're craving something also special - the famous Publix subs are SO good.* *I have friends that are native Floridians, and when I moved there, they urged me to get Publix Subs . I do NOT usually like sub sandwiches but I realized I never had a great, well-prepared one like Publix until last summer. The FRIED CHICKEN TENDER sub with buffalo sauce or any other sauce will CHANGE YOU. It surely changed my opinion on grocery store subs. It's customizable, and you can fill it with fresh veggies. I'd honestly eat Publix Subs over any fast-casual place in the area since it is THAT good. Try it yourself, because I was a skeptic too at first. You will BELIEVE! The woman making my sub is usually friendly at the Deli too. We bought littleneck clams from Publix last night. Asked for 22 clams from Lurch behind the counter, saying "please no broken or open clams." He grunted and grabbed 5 handfuls. Didn't even look. Wrapped them up in plastic. There were 6 broken in the bunch. I asked him to take the 6 out, he grunted, and took them out. We got the clams home. They smelled "fishy", so we cleaned the outsides pretty good, with a brush and vinegar. Put them in the pan and WAHHHHHHHH! The gates of smell opened up, and released a scent demon that smelled like rotten fish cooked over a dumpster fire. I literally almost threw up in the pan. My girlfriend, in the other room almost threw up on the floor. It was bad. The apartment smelled for 20 minutes, even after opening all the doors & windows. It was BAD. I will NEVER order seafood from Publix ever again. Those clams must have been weeks old. read more

Compared to other Publix grocery stores, this place had the most limited cheese and fruit/veggie section with several bins of fruit and veg completely Empty even though we were there mid week. Many of the products I wanted to buy (milk, yogurt) were at their sell by date. The bread section was under stocked. The sandwich counter (in the deli section was fine and is the only reason I am giving 3 stars, rather than 2. I have a gone if my way since then and shopped elsewhere. read more

I had big expectations about the reopening of this Publix store in my neighborhood. They need to be more consistent with the producta. I could list several item that I consume and they do not have them available in a consistent basis. A couple of examples: This happens at the fruits and vegetables departments all the time, when I ask for the products, they say that they had them in the "morning". When I complain about it with another employee, then they find the product in their storage immediately. The famous cheese bread, they never had enough production, no matter if I go in the morning or evening. Staff in general is very helpful and attentive. read more

Publix is amazing no matter the location but this one wow! This location was torn down and rebuilt a few years ago. It has a parking garage and you can see the beach from it, and you can't beat that view! Also it smells like Publix fried chicken in the garage which is very dangerous when you're hungry! The parking garage really is clutch though, your car is not baking in the hot sun and if it's raining you won't get wet putting your groceries in the car. Staff is friendly and helpful at this location. Only give it 4 stars because you won't have phone service inside. Other than that great location overall. read more

They've reopened new Publix at this spot. The new store is huge, with several floors of parking above it. I must admit that regarding price/variety Publix is my favorite supermarket in the states. This particular one pleasantly surprised me with fresh soups. I went there almost every day to try new soup for lunch, I personally recommend Lobster soup. Other than that they have fresh veggies and fruits, a lot of hot and frozen food, alcohol, drinks, juices, a wide variety of ham, swimming accessories, sushi, etc. I don't know how this store was before (I see that last review was several days ago), but after rebuilding it is a really great grocery store, with a bunch of freshly cooked food, that changes daily. I'd recommend giving them a try, for me, it is totally worth it, I wish we have something similar in California. read more

This is apparently an "old" location, complete but definitely outdated in it's design and floor distribution. I only stop there for basics or a bite to bring back home, and it does the trick, but don't expect anything more. It has the lone advantage of being the only "complete" supermarket of this size in Sunny Isles. The closest alternative, if vastly superior in food quality, is the relatively recent gorgeous Epicure store 3' down the road, but hang on to your wallet and throw away the pennies!! On top of everything, you really have to have an excellent lateral vision to not miss it driving south on A1A. Be warned that in Sunny Isles Beach publix they stopped disinfecting shopping carts, unlike other Publix where if they have a person assigned to disinfect shopping carts, recently ask the man who enters the used carts from the parking lot, and they put them on line on the first floor in front of the elevators, and the same man sent me to disinfect the shopping cart that I was going to use, and pointed out where the wipes were that I had to use to disinfect in the time of the covid, the I alert everyone to know that those shopping carts are not disinfected as if they are doing it in other Publix. read more

They are going thru a remodel. And I've noticed a big change in their employees attitudes. They are friendly now and actually helpful! Don't see what you came for? If someone hasn't already came and asked you if you needed help, just ask. They will always go check! Want a different amount of their produce they prepackaged (like their ginger), they will be more than happy to go weigh the amount you want. I am also seeing a slightly better selection of organic and health foods. Which is great bc now I don't have to go to whole foods as often. Wish they had PB2 though. The people who bag the groceries could be better tho. I'm super picky and hate it when things are just thrown in. Like why are my grapes under the apples? Or why wouldn't you put my frozen veggies with my yogurt so everything stays cold? I always have to be that crazy lady that reorganizes her bags before leaving. Anyways. Publix - The yelping Gods have answered my prayers! PUBLIX NOW HAS PB2!! - Grocery Near Me - Sunny Isles Beach, Florida

For the most part, got what I needed during my brief stay in Sunny Isles. I always walked there -- no rental car-- but the parking lot was never entirely full, so drivers will always get a space. Overall, the supermarket seems small, as does their selection and variety of the produce, dairy brands, dry foods (pastas), in general. They have almost all the brands you may find back home, but in much smaller quantity. The aisles aren't very large, and two carts can squeeze through, but it's a tight fit. If someone parked their cart and then stood looking at the shelves, no one could get around them from either direction. And for some reason, people are stupefied when you say "I'm sorry; excuse me" or flat out ignore you. Yeah, old man with the huge beer gut -- you're the only one standing in front of me, so who else would I be talking to? Organic produce section is small and limited but had delicious and crisp gala apples, spring mix, baby lettuce, spinach, carrots, mushrooms, etc. I only managed to find tomatoes one day. Produce area seems to just stick to the basics here. But that's all you need based on the location. Frozen aisles were super fun to look through: tator tots, garlic bread, mac and cheese (gluten free options as well), mixed frozen veggies, prepared foods like potato skins and buffalo wings, frozen meats/seafood, Stoffers/Boston Market entrees. I grabbed some Edward's cheesecake, and it was a great, cold dessert at the end of a humid night! Bakery/bread aisle: French baguette, rolls. Big assortment of muffins, cookies, cupcakes, and a couple display cases of more elaborate cakes. Looked awfully tempting. We ended up opting for a packaged container of chocolate/vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting. Were surprisingly good for a supermarket. Chicken noodle soup, chili, and another kind of soup available. Prepared sushi/sashimim. Organic Applegate hot dogs, as well as typical brands, deli meats and cheeses, deli sandwiches, fried chicken (one day got a 8 piece mix, another day 20 piece wings -- crispy skin and flavorful), rotisseries, hot foods such as fresh mac and cheese, mashed potatoes. Was looking for yogurt, but didn't see peach Fage or Siggy's brand. Got chocolate milk, Tree Ripe OJ, and Vitamin waters. Organic eggs. Very satisfied with what we were able to purchase here, because we saved a lot of money preparing Ham/egg/cheese English muffins, or making pasta for dinner. Lines were never long. Plenty of registers. If there was a line, it moved quickly. Cashiers were friendly enough, but I had one bagger who was particularly nice, and helpful when telling us our English muffins were a BOGO and that we could go back and get it after we paid. Didn't have to mention anything at all, so that was appreciated. Didn't recall seeing any self-checkout lines. One redbox kiosk. read more

I was waiting for this Piblix to open for a while, because I used to go to the old one all the time. They are open now. The store is big and bright, plenty of parking, there was no lines so check out was quick. I didn't like that you have to take elevator to and from parking garage, I wish they had escalator instead. Also, when I came in just a few minutes after 8, the salad bar was empty, I decided to get chicken tenders and they didn't have any, then I asked for a sauce for my sandwich and they were out of it as well. I think if the store is open until 11 they should have everything available until 10 at least. They empty out the buffet and run out of stuff 3 hours before closing. Also everything in the bakery section was burned. That's not always the case but sometimes they do burn their pies and still sell them. read more

Worst customer service we've received in any super markets. We tried to use a plastic box at deli section instead of paper box because we wanted to put deli food that had sauce and didn't want it to leak through paper box for our outing on our yacht. A Publix worker named Janine started yelling at us for using a plastic box instead of a paper box, and most shockingly with an F-- word thrown at us more than 20 times. Janine screaming at us 'F--k you!' And 'F---king this and that' astonished us. We said we need to report this matter to the headquarter of Publix, which we plan to. She went on with her antics with more F words. We said 'Publix workers are told it's fine to throw F word to their customers?' We received more of 'F--k you! This is my station. I get to do whatever I want! Use the f---king paper box! Go ahead, report me! Am I gonna be fired ?! Huh?! Disrespectful f--king ass holes! Use the f--king paper box, not plastic box! F---k you !' It was such a traumatic experience that one of us got into crying as we walked out of the store. Other customers who witnessed this scene were in shock and later came to us asking 'that worker acted out like that because of which box you tried to put food in??' We said yes, and they were more in shock. We hope the manager of the store will read this report we are placing here and take some necessary action on the worker named Janine at the deli section. We will reach out to the headquarter of Publix as well regarding this horrific treatment the Publix worker gave us. read more

We stopped by here to pick up cupcakes for my son's birthday party. It took my wife twenty minutes to get cupcakes, water and juice boxes. She wanted cupcakes that said happy birthday on them, but with it being SB Wknd, that's what we settled on. There is no such thing as a quick line in this Publix. Its a mixture of slow inattentive customers who get to the line unprepared, and the slow cashier counter parts. Its unbelievable some days and can be infuriating !
