Only used them once so far but they had my medication quickly and lady at register was pleasant. I plan to use them again!

Guerin's Pharmacy is a historic pharmacy that opened in Summerville, South Carolina in 1871. It is…read morethe oldest pharmacy in South Carolina as well as the oldest continuously-operating business in Summerville. It was founded by Dr. Henry Charles Guerin. The roots of the pharmacy go back decades earlier. Dr. C.F. Schwettmann owned a drugstore in Charleston, but it was damaged by cannon fire during the Civil War. He set up a new drugstore in Summerville in 1864. In 1871, Guerin (a former Confederate soldier and graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina) purchased the pharmacy and Schwettmann returned to Charleston. After Guerin passed away, the pharmacy was taken over by his son Dr. Joseph C. Guerin. The younger Guerin's colleague Dr. Herbert F. Dunning later purchased the pharmacy. Since 2014, the owner of Guerin's Pharmacy has been Dunning's grand niece Barbara A. Dunning, RPh. My family and I visited Guerin's Pharmacy this past summer while we were visiting family in town. Our cousins told us to check out a really cool old pharmacy in Hutchinson Square. We had no idea that pharmacies like this still existed; we had only seen ones like this in the movies. In addition to a pharmacy, Guerin's also essentially doubles as a general store where customers can purchase souvenirs, postcards, books, t-shirts, etc. Guerin's is also home to a soda fountain, which were popular in drugstores during the first half of the 20th century but rarely seen today. Customers can get Blue Bell brand ice cream, milkshakes, malts, floats, fountain sodas, hotdogs (with or without chili), pickles, or a number of different treats from the candy counter. My wife and I shared a cup of "Mint Chocolate Chip" ice cream while our sons shared a cup of "Cookies 'n Cream". My wife also enjoyed a strawberry milkshake while I had a bottle of Cheerwine. It was so cool to step back in time at Guerin's Pharmacy! We'll definitely visit again on a future trip to Summerville.

Every other month I have an issue with my refills. This time I called to find out why I haven't received a text that my medication was ready. After being on hold for 10 mins a lady gave me two different answer of what was going on with my medication then put me back on hold. Several mins later a guy gets on the phone and tells me my medicine was entered wrong and the one I usually gets is not in stock and will have to be ordered. This is not a new prescription, I get this inhaler every month. I am out of medication and now it won't be in for a few more days. This pharmacy lacks respective employees and they don't care about their customers.

She was argumentative over the phone with me and refused to help me. She actually argued with me instead of helping me figure out why I was having issues with this prescription pick up. It took me having to call my insurance multiple times, local general practitioner multiple times and a previous Walgreens pharmacy to straighten out the situation. Turns out the employee at the Moncks Corner Walgreens did not know how to correctly run the system there and had messed up our prescription order entirely. Obviously there is a severe lack of training here, care for people's health and also lack customer service. I felt attacked, not helped. Will be changing pharmacies as soon as possible.

It sickens me to see that others have been through the same medical neglect with Hope. So here's…read moremy "Hope Story": Pharmacist (Hope Snell) was very rude unprofessional. We needed a prescription filled by three and called and it was short notice. Unfortunately, CVS was the only pharmacy with the medication that we needed. Instead of using her doctorate degree to help a patient she decided it would be funny to laugh at said patient. Publix stayed back to make themselves available for CVS to call to get the prescription transferred as they did not have it in stock. She refused to call them until they were off lunch (despite our explanation) and said she had 24 hours to fulfill the transfer request once received. At this point we were within an hour of the patient needing her blood pressure medicine. Another family member showed up at the store and Hope continued to be argumentative and act like she was on a power trip. Once filling the prescription, she even made a comment towards the family member saying can you please be quiet? I'm trying to count. The family member was on the phone and I made a comment towards her that she didn't appreciate, but ultimately she ended up filling the prescription. Fast-forward to about 20 minutes later and my phone rings, Hope being the professional that she is decided to misuse her power and look at my personal information in their system to contact me for a reason that I could not tell you because once she found out, I was recording the phone call she quickly hung up the phone. I called back and left a voicemail inquiring why I was contacted because I did not know if Hope may had messed something up ( I genuinely could see that happening)or if she was just trying to pick a fight. Again, my phone rang and she said she would not be assisting me via telephone and hung up. Nevertheless, a complaint has been filed with CVS corporate, which was escalated to the district level due the harassing phone calls from Hope. I have also filled a complaint with the labor licensing board due to her lack of patient care and disregard for patient safety. I really hope both entities take this complaint seriously and terminate her employment as well as her license. Oh and Hope if you are reading this, Yes this call will be recorded ;) I pray the Board gets you out of this line of work before you kill someone.

For years, this location offered top-notch customer service, which truly set them apart. However, in recent years, I've noticed a decline in customer service. The warm, attentive interactions that once defined the Publix experience are becoming harder to find. It feels like the store became a little too comfortable being the only major grocery option in the area for a while--and that has affected how customers are treated. With new competition moving in--Nexton, Moncks Corner, and the upcoming Carnes Crossroads locations--there's going to be more choice for shoppers. I hope this motivates the Cane Bay store to refocus on the exceptional service Publix is known for. I still shop here and appreciate many things about this store, but it's time to step it back up. The customers have noticed the shift.

Tons of parking, of course, it is a large grocery chain. Parking is shared with other businesses in the area. The store parking lot and inside were extremely clean and well laid out. Granted, this is a new location, but you can see the hard work that the team put in to keep the store looking fantastic. Don't you love it when a business team member goes out of their way to make things right? That's exactly what the very nice lady at the bakery did this morning (I did not catch her name). She went out of her way to find me some bran muffins, and cracked open a package that had already been sealed from their bakery, Just so that I could have that Muffin! How cool is that?! Walking around at the store, I was asked by three different team members if I needed help. Awesome and appreciated! The deli and hot food service is the bomb! Fresh and hot and great selection. The fresh produce department was beautiful as always, seems to be the case with Harris Teeter. We will be coming back to this store specifically because of this interaction and experience.
