This Publix was amazing. The staff was great, it is very clean, they were prepared for game day and Valentine's Day with special food items like heart-shaped cookies, football cake, and balloons . Everything looked very festive. One of the unrelated items were out of stock. However, two staff members went to look for the items that were missing to try and make sure I had what I needed. In case you're wondering it was a StoneFire pizza crust, ultra thin. Lol Anywho they are now offering rain checks again so I locked one up for the deal, yay! They also offer paper bag instead of plastic just asked for them. They have a decent clearance section as well. Overall, it was a great experience. read more

Love this Publix as it's so spacious, clean and organized. I was looking for some flowers to give to my mom for her birthday and I was able to find a great selection. I was so happy when I walked around the corner and saw the selection they had. This is one of the big locations as I've been to some small ones and have a very small one located in walking distance from my house. This Publix is located in a huge shopping plaza where places such as Party City, Lowe's, Dollar Tree, Marshall's, Bath & Body Works, etc are located. Impressive ethnic aisle, so much so I texted a friend about it upon finding some really difficult-to-find European cookies. That said, I think this Publix has it all. Ample parking, a bakery and pharmacy, plenty of cashiers, you name it and it has it. Oh, and add a cheese or two that isn't fairly common to this list of stuff that isn't readily available elsewhere. Not all Publix's are created equal. This one is a little difficult to get to in the Pembroke Commons shopping plaza, but is well worth it. I went for the first time at a 1:30 pm on a Saturday, yet it had lots of parking, light traffic, and cashiers waiting with empty lines. Cannot say enough nice things about this location. Have not had a bad experience yet. We are new to the area and this grocery store chain has me coming back time and time again. To the point I rarely shop at Walmart for groceries anymore. The chicken tender subs....delicious! The subs in general are delicious and great to take to the beach. Produce: is fresh and well stocked Bakery: get the carrot cake, red velvet or the cookies. You will NOT be disappointed. Meat department: always has specials in the weekly flyer and is fresh. Grocery: I can count on this store to have the stuff I shop for frequently to be in stock. The staff is cheerful and helpful. Parking lot is clear of carts. They have lots of weekly Bogo's. Only difference is there's a small café where you can get ham, cheese & chicken croquettes, Cuban toast, empanadas, potato balls, stuffed yucca, bocaditos, and guava and cheese pastries; along with beverages such as American coffee, Cuban coffee, café con leche, cortadito, colada; and bottled juice, soda, water, iced tea & coffee. I've been to this location a few times and the store is always clean with organized aisles. Employees are friendly and helpful if I have trouble finding an item in the store. I patiently waiting for the young man, so he approached me and ask me if I was being help" I told him No , so when I requested what I wanted he asked the other 2 ladies that were in the 1st place if I can be help with what I requested. They looked at me and smirk with an evil grin is like they didn't want to even bother with my request . There customer service skills were very POOR , RUDE and Evil is more like it ! One had a green tee and the other was a light blue button down tee ... I've never been treated like that ever in NO PUBLIX! If you don't like your job don't do it ! They shouldn't even be working. But I just moved to the area of Pembroke Pines and Miramar and decided to give this Publix a try for a quick dinner and I was pleasantly surprised. I came to get a roasted chicken they were cooking them at the time the deli associate told me 20 minutes. I came back in 15 and I saw that he had some out I grabbed one and kept shopping then I see him hunt me down in the store telling me he had saved me one. Omg!!! that is the sweetest thing ever !!!! thumbs up five stars service... I'm very happy and he's amazing he definitely deserves a raise LOL I will continue to come here and I'm very happy I found this Publix by my new home. I ordered a Princess and the Frog Cake. It was a Half and Half Buttercream Cake. The cake was finished on the date and time that they promised. It was so good that I went home and had a few pieces after I left the party. Thank you Publix! In addition to a great Bakery, I love this particular Publix! Their Publix Aprons cooking section is always great. They do mini cooking sessions/demonstrations and then customers are allowed to sample the food. I have picked up many simple meal ideas from Publix Aprons. They also give you a cooking card with all of the ingredients and directions to take home. All of the ingredients that you need to cook are conveniently located right next to the cooking booth. I love this because I don't have to go all over the store to find what I am looking for. I love living on the west coast, but the one place I will miss the most is PUBLIX, especially this location. We were in the area for a week and this Publix was such a great location to frequent. The deli staff was beyond friendly. The sandwich maker (I cannot remember her name) was so friendly and attentive and the fact that the sandwich itself was delectably delicious just pushed me over the ecstatic edge. The catering manager was so helpful to my family with ordering platters from so many different people and she even helped us out to the car and helped with the condiments, etc. The cashier was also super friendly and helpful with finding random items and just made it such a pleasure to shop there. We need more people like the staff at Publix out in Los Angeles!!! read more

I had been a Walgreens pharmacy customer for years. My insurance coverage changed this fiscal year, and I submitted 2 scripts for refill. I was shocked, the price went from twelve dollars and change to fifty plus dollars every month. So, I told my doctor of the cost dilemma and she found that Publix provides free refills on one of them. In addition, she looked up a prescription discount. I went to Publix happy that I would receive a discount. Once I arrived there, the pharmacist advised that they refill 3 months of both subscriptions for just over sixteen dollars. This store needs to get their deli section together when it comes to making subs and the online orders. So many times I've gone to this Publix to grab an online order and I would just hear excuses from the deli crew why it hasn't been made or it was never made. I placed an order today for 6:00 knowing they take their time to get to the order so I arrived at 7:00 today and nothing so I left, order no. 12-6659 for the curious ones . This is my preferred Publix out of the several options in the area. They have a much larger produce section than the others. Another plus is they are fully staffed. Today was a great example. We got a late start shopping and managed to hit the full New Years Eve rush. The massive parking lot was packed, and we were nervous that we waited too long to get our party supplies. I loathe crowds, and normally am anal about avoiding them by always being ahead of them. However, inside the store, they had a done an incredible job of preparing with ample supplies of the right holiday items. I wanted to get some decent mushrooms for stuffing, and didn't have high hopes. This store had absolutely the best mushrooms I have ever found for stuffing at a supermarket. They had tons! It was like they knew I was coming and put them out just for me and 20 other slackers who waited until the last minute! Then we headed over to where the strawberries were and BAM! They had tons of strawberries on sale. Everything was in stock, and the place was ridiculously packed with other procrastinators. We headed to the champagne section and they had the exact bottle I was looking for and there was a guy working the shelf there and was able to unlock it and give us the bottle right then and there. We grabbed all the other stuff and dreaded going to the check out line. The great thing was, every station had a cashier, and they have a LOT of registers at this location. We didn't have any wait at all. We were in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. It was like the super market fairy came in and waved the wand and made it all magical! Publix is almost as big of a rip off as Whole Paycheck I mean Whole Foods. The prices keep going up and there is nothing special about the food they just own the market. Sedanos is so much better priced and if you want to deal with the devil Mal wart you get twice as much for the dollar. I will tell you that if you sign up for coupons with Publix online they start to send you 5 off of 25 and 20 off of 100 to try to keep you as a customer. They know they are overpriced and try to keep clients that are price conscious with these coupons. read more

Shopping is a huge F'ing pleasure at this location which is like a regular publix on steroids. They have a huge selection of everything particularly ethnic foods. The nearby publix on Taft street pales in comparison. I would spend weeks looking for things at that other publix that I would find immediately at this one. Let me first clarify that this review is not for all Publix stores but for the bakery department at the Publix on University where Bath & Body Works is located. I have used several Publix Bakeries over the years to bake my special occasion cakes, cupcakes, and cookies but this particular location is the absolute WORST. Initially the lady who took my order messed my order up and it went down hill from there. I was told that I would get a call to clarify a few questions that I had regarding my order but no one ever called me back. When I went in myself to get some clarification I was frustrated to learn that my order was wrong. Had I not come in when I did I would have been screwed at pick up. I specifically asked that a black bow be made for the center of the cake with the ribbons draping the side and the initial rep told me it was fine but that since it's a custom order request she could not confirm the price but that someone would call me with it. No call! On the day that I went to clarify I actually spoke to a manager that went over my order with me and made clear that my original request could not be done but that they had pre-made bows that they could spray black for me for an extra $5 charge. Not what I wanted but I agreed, asked for them to place the sugared sprinkle on the side, and confirmed my balance due, and pick up date and time. On the day of pick up it was a complete infuriating disaster. Josie (who was nice and professional) had no record of my black bow nor did she even know what I was talking about, they put the sugared sprinkle all over the cupcakes, and I waited almost 1 hour to have my order resolved. Thankfully I had my copy of the order form or I would have left empty handed since I was originally told that my order was not due to be ready until the next day (wrong). I will conclude by noting that Jodie herself informed me that I should never come to this Publix bakery for future orders because "the people here are disorganized, not professional, mostly new, and don't know what they are doing" "they are always messing up people's orders" well she is right and I will NEVER place an order or make a purchase from this bakery again. read more
