My coworkers and I visit Publix at least once a week for lunch. We go back and forth between this Publix or the larger one at Colonial Town Park Center. At times this one has better subs an fried chicken, but there are times when it's better at the other store. It's crazy how prices have soared at Publix over the years. I remember when you could get a full sub for $6.99 and a box of chicken for almost the same price. Now, a full Italian will cost you $10 and a box of fried chicken wings is $16. In the old days, you could find a two for one bag of chips for $5 now its abot $7. However, if they're not having any sales you're looking at spending $6 a bag, it's crazy. Oh and a gallon of lemonade or tea used to be two for $5, now it will run you $7 for the same deal. My team loves these M&M cookies which cost about $4 back in the day, now they are $6.19. Once in a while we'll pick up a cake and some ice cream for a birthday. The cheaper cakes cost about $7. And a tub of Blue Bell ice cream is about $9.20. Specialty cakes are anywhere from $15-$30. We usually buy for a group of seven or eight people, so we easily spend $100 or more each time we come here yet It's still cheaper than going to most other places in the area and you'll get a lot more for your money. We like to put our order in around 9:30 or 10:00 a.m. so we can pick up by 11:00 a.m., just in time for lunch - anytime after that Publix is pretty well slammed and you might be eating after 1:00 p.m. The store is always clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. If you are in the area and craving a great sub you have several options but Publix will cost you the least out of all of them (Laspadas, Jersey Mike's, Upsala Grocery, Firehouse, Jason's Deli, or Honey Baked Ham). If you have never had a Publix sub I highly recommend giving one a try! read more

Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you experience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. I found the ambiance to be inviting enough and overall, made my shopping experience a better time. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location for that matter and I give it five stars. read more

I'm a huge fan of Publix. While many items cost more than other stores, you also get the service that comes with the price tag. Also, they have some amazing bogos if you you look for the em on food, wine, beer, seltzers, etc. sodas sometimes are buy 2 get one. Carrot cake is a must if this is your first time, and the tendies are really good too. Seriously though, look for those bogos! read more

This has been my go to Publix ever since I moved to Lake Mary about 5 years ago. And there are 3 others in just a couple miles vicinity. The products are always well stocked and the customer service is always satisfactory. I always love walking down the aisles and seeing what buy one get one free goodies are displayed the current week. Some of the employees know me and they always greet me with a smile and say hello. Whenever I need help, the employees always make it a point to resolve my issue. It really has that neighborhood supermarket feel. I highly recommend this Publix whenever in this area read more

Nice place to grab groceries. It seems to be a smaller publix compared to the two nearby. Was happy to see some grass fed beef options in the meat section- two types of grass fed ground beef. Couldn't find anything else though. Picked up some free range organic ground turkey. In the produce section, I couldn't find the broccoli slaw. There was an employee there that asked if he could help! Awesome! He showed me where the slaw was (unfortunately not organic) and helped me find other items. The organic free range eggs were on sale $2 off! Woohoo! Grabbed two of those. They also had a great sale on hummus. At the register, I used my club card and immediately received $5 off. My lucky day! They offered to help me out with all my items as well. Great place to shop. They make you feel like a valued customer. read more

The only reason this store warrants a 2nd star is because the groceries are always well organized, fresh, and the prices are reasonable. They have weekly deals like buy 3 boxes of mineral water/seltzer (I like the Polar brand) for $12, buy 1 get 1 free whipped cream or 2 for $7 on Edy's ice cream. If you're one of those shoppers that picks items you didn't intend to buy because of the deals, be sure to take a quick photo of it. Why? Because otherwise, it likely won't ring up correctly and the cashier (someone with a name like Hozanna, for instance), will argue with you for a solid 5 minutes about how the savings was only for a different item while you hold up the line looking like an asshole. The cashier asked 3 other cashiers/managers/bag boys nearby (correct, 4 employees total) sided with the cashier and nobody bothered to run back and check because it's such a long and tiresome freaking walk, right? It must not be possible to ring up the next customer while you hold items for another, my bad. I can only deduce this stems from upper management who train their employees to argue with their customers and miss out on deals they have, but won't give you. I was just stupefied. Even the lower priced grocery stores I've gone to in the past would either check or just give it to you. I finally just told her to ring them up as is for individual items. I walked back and checked myself, took a picture, and told them to take better care of their other customers. A cashier named Melissa rechecked the items, and gave me some of the cash back. The other employees gave me dirty looks on the way out, because it's apparently my fault for being such an abhorrent customer by expecting to pay the posted prices. Don't shop here unless you want to pay full price on every single item regardless of advertised "deals." Take it from customers like myself that had to learn that little charming experience the hard way. read more

This location is decent but as with several others in the area, very high traffic, so I tend not to frequent it as much as a couple others. Normally I only pop in if I'm on my way to the Sanford Sam's Club and need a normal grocery item that Sam's wouldn't have. I find the staff here pleasant, and the store itself is very clean. I'm usually able to find what I'm looking for with no issues. I had to take away stars for the parking, and also the lines can get a bit long with seemingly not enough a staff to get people out quicker as I've seeen other locations do. I have not used the deli here so I'm not sure about their sub quality/speed compared to other locations. You can order deli items online though and I've found that to be a huge plus so that's something to try. read more

Definitely one of the nicer Publix stores. Fairly large size, though it can seem a bit crammed during busy times. Well laid-out as far as floor plan. Pretty good beer and wine selection consider it doesn't have its own liquor store. Meat section is a little small, but produce is rather large. I will say the deli section is pretty slow, especially if you want a sub or chicken tenders, etc. The employees are all nice and friendly. They do a good job. My biggest complaint would be a lack of shopping cart corrals in the parking lot. There's only one or two of them. Most carts wind up on the grass or just left in between cars. They need to get more cart corrals out there. read more

This is my Publix near work. Staff is always so nice here. Lines move fairly quickly, granted I do come in at night maybe 15-30min before they close. Either way, it's pleasant, and clean. There is plenty of parking, and pricing, well pricing is Publix pricing, you know, random things BOGO Free, so here you are buying 2 giant tubs of Peanut Butter, because you're wondering "when will this every happen again?" And then it does like 3 weeks later... and again the next month....and the next, but you still never learn and continue to get sucked into the BOGO Free items.. lol. I'm just saying.. Avoid the deli! Avoid the deli! Incompetence, poor management makes this department the worst I have ever experienced. The old saying is three is the charm, not here, maybe 4! I ordered a sandwich at 7:30 PM and my pick up was for 8:05 AM. When I arrived, my sandwich that was made to my liking wasn't ready or even started. The blond manager apologized and offered me a ready made, I was so insulted, really? This is just not how you make a disappointed customer happy. Ready made? Publix, get that job posting done ASAP! This was the same manager that told me to order online for faster service. 3 of 4 times I ordered, my order was 15 minutes late or done incorrectly or not done at all. The deli competence is so sad, and I feel bad about how incompetent they really are. The problem is all about poor leadership. Deli Station I work across the street and come here almost daily for lunch. Food is always good of course to start off. The biggest issue would probably have to be the staff placement at certain stations and taking initiative to replace food stations before they actually run out. I'm sure I can speak for everyone else and say nobody likes spending their lunch break waiting for food to be refilled when it's been there empty all day. Example) -came in for soup -"20 minutes till it's ready" -co worker tried getting chicken-"sorry we're all out" -Tried getting my coworker Mac and cheese-"hold on I have to get some more" This was all in one visit that was supposed to last a few minutes... On any given day after work this wouldn't be too much of an issue but it can get annoying when it's an everyday thing at your favorite lunch spot during work hours. This place would be amazing if they kept up with the busy hours nonetheless. read more

Great Publix,clean and friendly staff. The parking lot is easy to get in and out and the location makes it convenient for me to stop by on my way home. This is another one of my favorite Publix locations, even though I've been to it only once (this past Saturday). A friend told me that this location had some of that Ben and Jerry's cannoli-flavored ice cream that I like ... so, since it's a limited-edition flavor and it might not be out for much longer, I decided to look for it here and do my shopping at this location this past weekend. My friend was right - the store did have two of the cannoli ice creams left, so I took 'em both. (They appeared to be the last two, so I got a little lucky.) I also found a few other cool items here. I got a package of the Thomas cranberry-flavored English muffins as well as a few flavors of Gatorade that aren't available everywhere. I like it when that happens! I don't know when I'll be back here again since there are so many other Publix locations that are closer to where I live, but maybe I will stop in every now and then to see what the store has. I also should mention that the employees here are overly friendly. My check-out cashier and the young guy who bagged my items were really nice. The store also appears to have a good layout and seems to be clean and well-stocked and -maintained. Thanks again, Publix! This is another winner. read more

I don't use this Publix anymore because of their customer service. I spent about an hour shopping one day with my crying baby boy (any mother who has done this will understand my predicament) only to find at the check out that my bank card was MIA. It was a terrible feeling and I was incredibly flustered and frustrated. I asked them if they would hold my cart so my husband could come up and pay for the groceries and I wouldn't have to do all of this shopping all over again. They said they would and asked when he would be coming. I explained he was still at work but it would be in the next 4 hours. They said they would put my full cart into their back refrigerator. Needless to say, when my husband arrives to pay for the food, no one could find the cart and the woman at the customer service center was incredibly unhelpful and rude. She acted as though it was our problem, not theirs, that our cart full of stuff was missing. I called up there and spoke with her, and she couldn't had sounded more disinterested to help me and had an enormous chip on her shoulder- so much in fact that her responses to my questions sounded like there was a question mark at the end of them. Example: if I had said "I was told you guys were holding my cart, but now no one knows where it is" her response would have been "ok well there's not much I can do about that???" Really???? I couldn't talk with her because it made me, again, incredibly frustrated. Finally I was told that someone put all the items back because they didn't know when someone was coming. It was insane. I told the manager that I've never encountered anything like this at our other Publix, and now would have to reshop for all of it. By the way, the snobby and unhelpful CSR told me it was reshelved because they only hold groceries for 2 hours in the refrigerator. I told her that it would have been nice if they had shared that with me when I told them my husband wouldn't be able to come until 4 hs from that time. Somehow she felt like that was my problem, still. The manager, in effort to try to help out, pulled the receipt from the register and went through and grabbed all he could, but forgot a few things. I haven't been back since just because of how unprofessional I found the whole experience. read more

Not the bet publix but it's so close to my house it's my publix- Bakery has one mean lady- all the kids call her "the mean one" when asked who handed them their cookie! I won't leave out "the nice one" she is sweet and has literally watched my babies grow up and always greets them with love- but the mean one was not happy with me today when i was given my order and the sprinkles were the "rejected" sprinkles and not the rainbow ones- i said-i can't buy these because the theme of the party is rainbow sprinkles?!? I went to the bigger publix on 46A and they solved the problem-fast! Everyone else here is nice but ordering meats and cheese from deli online sometimes doesn't get filled and i end up waiting longer then if i just waited in line! Those r my complaints of the day! Heidi the pharmacy manager is absolutely amazing! Her customer service skills and friendly demeanor are usually hard to find. She's the best! The lady at the "recipe counter" is friendly, as well. (My grandson loves her!) My only concern with this location was one of the stockers in the dairy area...previously, on 2 separate occasions, as my husband and I selected yogurt, she said "oh that one has the fake sugar in it and will give you cancer." It may not have occurred to her that some people choose the sugar free options for health reasons, and her editorializing wasn't appreciated. I did mention this to the management staff and I assume they said something to her, as I recently shopped for sugar free yogurt as she stocked in the adjacent area and she didn't say anything. read more

I used to drive out of my way to go to The Publix in Heathrow because I liked it better than this one. A few days last week I came to this one in a time crunch and found a few delicious items that I cannot live without I now come to this Publix and it is my favorite. They have a pasta Caesar salad with artichoke fresh spinach and black olive that is to die for. Their fresh baked asiago cheese bagels and everything bagels are very delicious. And what is a month without a Publix fried chicken day? I don't come to Publix often because it is more expensive I will admit I do shop more at Walmart but what I love most about Publix besides their bakery and their deli is their buy one get one free offers. Their customer service and the employees are great I just wish the regular prices were lower more often. read more

Although I have had wonderful success with this Publix from their bakery department and have purchased often, they let me down the last time on a cookie cake for a birthday for my grandson. The cake was dry, distasteful and we ended up throwing it away. I was very disappointed in the product and will not use them for the bakery products moving forward. Nothing to complain about at this publix! The staff is great... They're all super helpful, and know exactly where things are (even obscure things!). The managers are always at the ready to open additional lanes if more than a few shoppers are waiting in line to check out. The produce section is always stocked with a great selection of fresh fruits and veggies. I also love the deli... Everyone from florida knows just how good publix subs are, and this location is no different. That buffalo chicken tender sub... yum! In addition to the deli, this publix has a small sushi station in the back... I like to pick up a package of this every once in a while for a cheap lunch (chop sticks, soy sauce, wasabi, etc are all provided for you as well) read more

This is the cleanest Publix around and easy to get in/out. You get through check-out fast which is always a good thing in my opinion. It has everything else the "bigger store" across I-4 has except the crowds and traffic congestion. read more

The Deli Dept. at this Publix is an absolute disgrace. 4-5 people standing around while one person slices the meat. I've mentioned it to the manager and nothing changes. Same lazy deli staff that act like you are invisible. I mentioned it to the cashier and she said, "I'm sorry, if you only knew how many times I've heard that same complaint." So clearly a major issue and nothing is done, so by all means drive to the Publix on Lake Mary Blvd or the one on 46 in Sanford. The deli Departments at both of those are head and shoulders above this one. If you don't need meat or cheese then you are fine here. read more
