We love stopping at Publix when in this part of country. Clean rest rooms, friendly staff, lots of local foods, sauces, relishes, etc to choose from. However we also stop in for a deli sandwich. Made to order on fresh bread, Boars head meats, this deli beats out most delis we have ever gone to. This particular Public right at bottom of Lookout Mountain even had indoor seats to dine. read more

This Publix on N. Market is busy but my favorite. All the associates have been pretty good to great All except... the ladies in the Pharmacy :( I'm well aware of how demanding and hectic this department is. I know the challenge of servicing difficult, nasty people. But the witchy attitudes have got to go. I've visited there about 5 times, with different ones at the register = both seemed angry or preoccupied, anything but customer focused or pleasant. A few days ago it was the Pharmacist who reluctantly came to the counter, talked too fast, wouldn't make eye contact or try to engage the customer (me) & went right back to her p.c. without my response. Was it a bad day? or do you just hate dealing with customers? The associate at the register was kind enough to repeat what she said. Please, this job in part, is a 'customer' service position, hopefully not customer punishment position. read more

Love this publix! Been going here for about a year for my groceries and they are always so kind! They go out of their ways to ask how I'm doing or if I need any help finding anything (just going the extra mile it's so sweet!) Although a chain, this grocery store acts like a local, making sure everyone has what they need and giving realistic timelines on when another shipment of specific types of items should arrive when sold out. My Mom and I placed our first delivery order with Publix a couple days ago for more essentials, like food staples and cleaning supplies. Through Instacart, Publix offers home delivery through their own app. When selecting items to put in the cart, Publix asks if you're open to a substitute for that item if they're out, same product but maybe different brand or conventional vs organic. We also placed an order for just our treats throughout the week - Diet Coke for Mom and organic blueberries for me. The delivery time frame originally quoted changed just due to demand being higher. Our shopper was so gracious about asking which items we wanted replaced since so much was out of stock. She also was fine with dropping off our groceries to keep to the social distancing guideline. All in all, this was a great first big order delivery experience. read more

Still love this store! They have great selections of foods that are pre-prepped and just need to cooked. I had a shrimp and cilantro rice packet in a parchment bag that I just had to pop in the oven for 10-12 minutes. It was quite tasty and full of seasonings and spice. Super easy to do. I also love the parchment bags of vegetables that you can pop in the oven too, already seasoned. I work two jobs and I just don't always have time to prep and cook meals. This lets me skip to the cooking part. The bakery is also really good. I've had several types of desserts and cakes here and they are all top-notch. The staff is super nice and I love that they will take my cart to the car for me. Publix has been a great addition to the grocery game in Chattanooga. Keep 'em coming. read more

I love this store, however every time I go to this store there is no parking, not enough people working in the deli, and workers standing around. I hate that it takes over 1 hour to just go into the store and try to check out. The lines are much to long and you are loosing business because of this. I stood in line for 30 minuets on my 1 hour lunch break just to turn around and walk out because there were still 3 people in front of me. Again love this store, but I wish you could get the people standing around to help the deli because they are drowning. read more

I shop at Publix at 400 N. Market St. at least 3 or 4 times a week. I love their deli and the freshly prepared items and hot food. My favorite clerk Stephen Donald is so professional and helpful. It's really nice when you get the same personal treatment every time you walk into a place to shop. My trips to Publix is actually one of the things on my to do list that I actually look forward to. The store is clean, the staff are awesome and simply put, their management team must really treat the employees well. They're always smiling! read more

The CEO of Publix needs to be commended for the turn around of their stores. My first experience was in a Publix on Colonial Dr. Orlando, Florida. I was an out of state customer visiting Disney. I walked into the store to purchase food for my large group. I was followed as soon as we hit the store. I went to the deli and their employee totally ignored me... no other customer there. I asked for help. He continued to ignore me but another customer came up funny he waited on him. I left knowing he didn't like waiting on people of color. The entire store was that way. I like to commend the cleanliness, the friendliness, the well mannered personnel. I spent my hard earned money at this store and East Brainerd Store bc they value you me as a returned customer. My shopping experience is wonderful. Their staff sees you looking for something they automatically ask can I help you find anything. I tell them what I looking for. They tell you what isle but then go get it for you. I'm elderly. I was trying to get a case of water in my cart. This young man ran over and said madam let me get that for you. What an experience!!! Thank you CEO, Branch Managers, Store Managers, Department Managers, stockmen and women, cashiers, janitors...etc. if I miss anyone, your contribution to that store is noticed. i love publix. I've never shopped at a publix until I moved here to Chattanooga for 2 months for a school rotation. OMG. why aren't there more around the state?! the only ones I know of so far in the state of TN is the one here in Chattanooga and the one out in west Nashville. let me just say that this is very similar to your regular grocery store / Kroger. however, I find publix's a lot CLEANER, with better lighting, fresher groceries, and a better type of shopping environment. its never insanely crowded even for being the largest grocery store around here. the people are always incredibly friendly! (unlike some of the krogers that I've been to) one thing that I think gets lost into the large giant grocery chains is the baggers bringing your bags out to your car for you. I've only ever seen that at my small hometown in our smaller independent grocery stores. I know everyone wants to know about the PRICES at this joint. the prices are very very comparable! greek yogurt (their brand btw is AMAZING and literally the same quality as any fage or chobani type.. and I actually like their brand better than the other brands) is $1 each. and sometimes less than $1 if they're on sale! they have the normal stuff fruit, veggies, frozen and also a deli for your fresh meat, sushi bar, fresh cut fruit bar, meat/seafood bar, etc. I love publix! and there needs to be more of them around the state! read more

Apparently this pandemic is a joke to many. Customers at Publix are not required to mask, even though employees FINALLY were required to do so. I shopped at Publix on Snowhill Rd. One woman shopping was an employee and did not wear a mask. Customers ignored the signs for which way to travel down isles. I will shop at Whole Foods where it seems safety is a priority. read more

One of my favorite groceries stores. The deli has so many different cheeses, Turkey, ham, etc. All the produces are fresh and I love the international isle. The bakery has some great cookies and also my wife's favorite cake. She also loves the flowers and the prices are pretty reasonable. Very nice and clean Publix. They have a pharmacy located inside to the left and self checkout. I don't frequent Publix so I'm not sure if this exists at all stores or not, but it sure was convenient. Helps to have medicine area towards the front because who wants to walk around a huge store when they aren't feeling their best. Anyway. The greeters and cashiers were very nice and amiable. In a place like Chattanooga Publix is valuable for visitors on a budget. Seems to be the only free parking in town too. But it's not close enough to any event area for the lot to be valuable in that type of situation. On top of the fines you'd probably get for parking there. Oh, so nice have a quality grocery store in downtown Chattanooga. Gets a bit busy on a Sunday but they are well staffed. Great selection but I love the fresh Sushi. Great quick lunch or will be my dinner on the days I do shopping for the week. Deli counter has good selection including sandwiches, hot soup and other hot foods. This is the busiest Publix in the area/Tennessee. Fantastic staff are always prompt and give Premier quality food retailer service. All products are organized well and easy to find. If they are not ask anyone for help. Logan is the assistant deli manager and is a shining example of a customer service expert. He wants you to come back and tell him about your experience. Every department is kept up well and there are always plenty of registers open. They offer lottery and service for special needs people with a smile. There is an Aprons area where they demonstrate easy recipes cooked in house for you to sample. Just to the side of the demonstrators is a section with all the food ingredients for recipes already gathered for you, and this is some good healthy stuff. Last but not least the Store Management team is passionate and Jim Grover the store manager is always around to help you with anything necessary to get you in and out quick with a smile and have you come back again. read more

Publix is a decent grocery store but I can't help but notice how some of the employees are very unpleasant. One in particular is the store manager Ginger. Not only has she been rude to me a few times she's also rude to her employees I'm front of customers!! She needs to go through some courses on how to be a manager. There's more to managing a team than just telling people what to do. I've been in management most of my adult life and I always treated my employees with respect. You treat your employees good they'll treat you good. read more

Wow. I've never been in a Publix before, thank god, after this experience. It has a very barebones warehouse experience like an Aldi, except 2-3 times more expensive. Horrible aesthetics. Horrible beer and wine selection, overpriced. The other grocery stores should have nothing to worry about. I would rather shop at Sav-A-Lot, I just hate everything about this place. Seriously, end it now. This is the worst grocery store I have ever been into. Just stop doing business, please - there is no angle, they are not cheap, they are not good. This place is so bad that I prefer to save money and get a better selection by shopping at Whole Foods, which is nearby. I am not pushing Whole Foods, I basically dislike them too. But seriously, much better. And now with Amazon, let's see. Hopefully we can kiss Publix goodbye unless they can bring some value to the table. read more

Why Yelp review a grocery store? Because this particular one has an INSANE level of customer service. The women at the register were so helpful and work above and beyond. One ran back and checked to make sure they were out of an obscure item I couldn't find, just in case. And when they take your groceries out for you, they never accept a tip or anything. Thanks to the management of the Market Store, they know how to do business. This staff is friendly and helpful. If you looking for something and can't seem to find it, when a staff member passes you, I'm asked "can I help you?". Both young and old staff are so courteous. It's clean and well stocked. The service desk is helpful. The young lady looked up the item and then came from behind the desk to show me where it was. It's so nice the see young people getting a lesson of good customer service that I hope takes with them for life. I tried to tip them for carrying out my groceries and every time they refuse to take it. Please please don't change. I pass four stores to go to this one. We have other Publix near but they are nothing like this one. Other stores need to take a page from them. Thanks so much for the great service. read more

After a long night and Taco Mamas for lunch, I wanted a nice Netflix night with some grocery store sushi. I have an odd affection for grocery store sushi...don't judge me. We did not make it to Publix until after 8pm and most of the sushi was G-O-N-E, but the kind sushi maker said he would be happy to make anything we wanted. He was VERY helpful and chatted with us while he made the sushi. This man was a wonderful ambassador for Publix...sorry I forgot his name. I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Roll and requested for it to be made non-spicy. BF ordered the rainbow roll and had it topped with salmon, tuna, and shrimp (variety). Not too much rice, stuffed with all the god stuff. I was very impressed. It was great to have freshly made rolls on a Sunday night. Store was very clean, cashier was friendly....glad that Chattanooga got this gem in Northshore. read more

Very similar to wholefoods in many ways, offer much more organic selection then traditional grocery stores. Plus both stores have a similar ethos, in that anyone of their employee's will stop what they are doing and help you find whatever you're looking for. read more
