Fried fish Fridays really should be a thing!! I'm always on the hunt for a good fried fish…read moreplate, so I decided to give here a try. Upon entering, I immediately noticed a smell. It was most likely that fresh seafood smell gone bad. I don't know. Since this was my first time here , I decided to order my go to. Whitening plate with 2 sides. The plate was a generous amount of food. I didn't even eat it all! Fish was fried nicely but lacked in taste overall. It was missing something. I hated the fries. They appeared to be freshly cut potatoes but lacked seasoning and the hush puppies were just ok. 4.5/10 Service was straightforward. Nothing overly exceptional. I was impressed with the variety of fresh seafood offered. I think this would be a good option if you wanted to just grab and go! I may go this route the next time I'm in the mood for some seafood.

STAY AWAY AT ALL COST…read more The worse place. They have fresh fish with TERRIBLE ATTITUDES. I came here 3 times. 1st time was good only because they were busy. 2nd the GUY WITH PONY TAIL was EATING had food on his lips wiped it off with his hands and didn't clean them before trying to serve me and pick up my catfish. He also saw I was in a hurry and gave me BURNED okra and catfish that was cold. Tried to give the benifit of the doubt before leaving this review, but I came today and the owner with glasses was EXTREMELY rude. I spoke with him nicely and directly aside about the incident of the food being burned and who did it and he took offence. Didn't want to cook just because I asked if he could please make sure I get fresh okra as the last time it was over cooked. I said it's not bad but it's just his partner or employee made a mistake and it was a TERRIBLE experience as I couldn't eat it and there's the food away but he was angry and side buy to fool at home since we can't cook. The waitress checked on us frequently. Their menu is huge and has something for everyone. They didn't have my first request, but I got the pesto pasta with shrimp as my second choice and it was very good. I liked the oysters, but the ones we tried were very spinach forward, and if you aren't a fan of that, you may not like these. Next time we'll try the other oyster types they have. I'm surprised I had never made it out here before. I will definitely come back - but not with the kids. They have some great lunch specials as well.

We were seated promptly handed menus and about 30 seconds later approached by the waitress for drink orders. We asked for a drink menu as there was nothing to advertise what drinks they were serving. She returned with 1 drink menu for all 3 of us and stood there waiting until we decided. We asked for some time so she left and returned about 2 mins later. We ordered drinks and she returned 2 mins later to take our food order. We ordered appetizers, salad and main courses. The drinks came quickly, the salads came right after and then about 3 mins later, the appetizers came out. 3 mins after that, the main courses arrived so we had plates stacked everywhere on the table and quickly tried to finish our salads and appetizers before the main dish got cold. The waitress never returned to the table until she brought the bill. The plates were all cleared by someone else. We saw her leave a bill at the table next to us and wait until they checked it over and figured out a payment method, so when she arrived at our table we just handed her a credit card. The food was average but the overall experience was terrible. I realize she was probably new and this may have been her first night but some training would go a long way! For $180 dinner, we expected a lot more.

Our eyes popped, mouths fell agape, and rumors of fainting abounded. The overall shopper's experience here is the best in Decatur. Among the Pan Dulces (Conchas, Ojo de Buyes, and such), we espied something similar enough to Chocolate-covered Doughnuts to make us kill for it. But we had a bag of goodies we'd already purchased and somehow staved ourselves off. Formerly at 6th Avenue, LEF&FM is a must visit. Oddly, four of the other Supermercados are within walking distance and thus in direct competition, a move seemingly both unwarranted and unwise, unless a concentrated Hispanic population in the immediate area ensures their collective viability. I can't say. The first items you'll notice as you walk in are the greens and such in the well-stocked and eye-catching produce area, and the atmosphere was well ratcheted up in our estimation due to the fact that the employees were all friendly. LEF&FM had a wonderful dairy department, stocked with Queso this, Quesillo that, Quesadillo these, and Crema those. Some cheeses had Jalapeno, others, Loroco, which is evidently a flower bud of Central American origin. The popular Cotija Molido, which is merely grated Cotija, was also evident. It's one of the crumbly cheese you'll see in Mexican food...in fact, I believe it's one of the ones of which you might say, "Why doesn't it melt?" In addition to the bakery and dairy areas, the display of "soda pops" (to import a term) and such was better than average. Yes, they have Jarritos, but also have Foco, Boing!, Tiky, and several others, some of which are actually Asian in origin, rather than Mexican or South American. We are already talking about returning here...and that's a thirty-plus-minute trip. And we won't come back empty handed. Possibly in a sugary haze, but not empty handed.

The only reason we didn't buy these is that we'd already eaten elsewhere AND bought elsewhere.

Soup changes daily and this day was chickpea and chorizo. Nothing life changing about it but it wasn't bad. We walked into a small, dark, crowded dive bar and ordered amongst several other people after waiting in line shoulder to shoulder with other customers. I say this not to complain (because with a crowd like this on a random weekday, they're obviously doing something right) but to take your kids in car seats (‍) with caution. Crowds in small spaces stress me out and it would have been even worse if we'd had the boys with us. I'd also highly suggest going on a day when you can sit outside. There's very minimal seating inside. They do have a lovely, spacious patio that also feels like a garden with plenty of trees for shade. However, they make it clear they don't want dogs there. Parking was horrific. A narrow street with cars on each side. We barely fit through it. If there wouldn't have been an open spot on it, I'm not sure what the next option is because I didn't see anywhere else and this street only held so many. I would dine here again because the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and they obviously know what they're doing! I was pleasantly surprised that they had prosecco as well. Just heed my few warnings and you'll enjoy as well!
