This Publix is right off the interstate and about the last one if heading west. Staff were nice as usual.

Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you experience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities that Publix opens a location in are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location and I give it five stars. read more

Absolutely the best Publix. Obviously Publix is one of the more superior supermarkets but have you tried their subs?! I would suggest grabbing some chunky white chicken salad and try it on the 5 grain sub bread, if you think the customer service is superb, wait til you try the sandwich. read more

I love the Bessemer/McCalla Publix! I'm not much for grocery shopping but I enjoy going to this Publix location. The produce is always fresh and the associates working at the hot bar are always kind. Publix offers organic products as well as healthy non gmo products. Honestly I find myself making several trips a week to this location. This location definitely gives-like a neighborhood type vibe. The sales and coupons helps cut the costs which comes in handy when shopping for high quality items. Love the chili at Publix! Going back tomorrow!! read more

I've been looking for this particular Sara Lee Coffee Cake my grandma used to always feed me and Publix had it. Thank you so much!! It's probably not that hard to find, but I was excited none-the-less to see they had it. This store is insanely clean, the people are very nice, friendly and helpful. The deli guy helped me pick a great Boars Head Turkey and sliced it to my exact specifications.It was delicious. I'll be back to this Publix for more grocery shopping. read more

Always clean. Always friendly. It's Publix!! No complaints other than it's pricer than most grocery stores but great sales & BOGOs.

The produce and meat department are really great. The employees are always very helpful throughout the whole store.

I used to primarily shop Wal-Mart for groceries since they had everything in one store, but have found that instead Publix is a great place to shop. I love the Publix brand of everything I've tried so far. The prices are actually comparable but the items are just better quality. read more

We also primarily shop at Walmart for groceries, but Publix has an excellent fruit and vegetable section as well as fresh fried chicken which is the bomb. The prices are higher but if you want a better cut of meat this is where you go. Very friendly. Very clean. read more

Went to this publix location on my way out of town since my family loves the bread and a type of nutrition bars that are not available where they live. Went to go buy the protein bars and went to check out. They only had a few of the bars I wanted invidiually wrapped but they did have some boxed up. So my wife asked the cashier if she could ring up the boxed protein bars as the same price. Cashier calls the customer service lady and she says no. And we can't even get some of the individual ones because there is a limit of only 10 and I had 20. There was no indication on the price tag that there was a limit. So the customer service lady called the customer service manager and she did not know if there was really a limit or not but her excuse was "we usually have a limit on stuff like that". That being said I called my other publix locations in hoover that I goto. They had the same "10 for 10" special but without a limit. I called the Bessemer publix customer service manager back and she said "yeah they do some stuff differently" and said sorry and hung up. Publix should promote price and promotion consistency in the same area. It's not like they are a franchise and can opt into a special If they want. I found the customer service staff, from the cashier to the manager, at this Location was very unprofessional. They did not try to work with me in any way but saying "sorry it's not personal." I have shopped at publix many years and have not seen this type of management. I do not recommend this location by any means to anyone and i for one will not be stopping by this location for bread or anything of any sort. read more
