This company has the absurd policy of charging cumulative late fees (late fees for unpaid late…read morefees); so a $7.00 unjustified late fee accumulates to become $14.00 the next month even though that months bill is paid on time. Moreover their customer dis-service department is abysmal. They are not allowed to be fair because Harry Apostolos (CEO and co-founder of Guardian Water & Power) deliberately put this rip-off policy in place to enriching himself by cheating customers. -0 stars

This business had been providing me water submetering service for years. One day my submetering…read moreequipment stopped working, so I reached out to them for assistance and they said they would get back to me. While waiting for them, I was able to get the equipment to work again on my own. However, the business continued to insist that the equipment was not working on their end and they were searching for a solution. Then about a week later, without any explanation, they told me that they were canceling my account. Around that time, I noticed my equipment's cellular function stopped. After some investigation, I discovered that they had called the equipment provider to shut off my equipment remotely. I felt betrayed. It was bad that they didn't help me fix the issue; it was worse that they CAUSED the issue. At first when I called them, they would not give me a straightforward response. Only when I presented them with evidence did they confess to shutting off my equipment. Then they just stopped responding to my emails and phone calls. They still owe me a refund for credit on the account as well as reimbursement for resetting my equipment, which they deactivated remotely. I absolutely do not recommend this company for submetering services. Actually, based on their customer service, I wouldn't recommend this company for anything.

Horrible company. No detailed billing. Average cost for a 2 bedroom townhome is $250-$350 and…read morelately $550-$750 per month in the winter. I'm not joking. This has to be illegal gouging customers like this. DO NOT move onto an apartment that has NEP for electric. You have been warned....

If you have a choice, stay far away from apartments that require Nationwide Energy Partners (NEP)…read morefor utilities. NEP handled water billing at our apartment for years, but serious issues only became clear once residents were forced to use NEP for electric service. At that point, our electric charges were significantly higher than what the local host utility (PECO) would have billed for the same usage, and NEP could not provide clear, reproducible documentation explaining why. When I requested a tariff-based explanation, NEP repeatedly claimed that my comparison to PECO's Price to Compare (PTC) was "not properly calculated." However, PECO has publicly published its Residential PTC Methodology, which confirms that the PTC includes generation and transmission, along with capacity costs, ancillary services, line losses, and taxes. In other words, the PTC is the exact consumer-facing benchmark PECO tells customers to use. Despite this, NEP never provided a transparent, line-by-line reconciliation showing how its total charges matched what PECO would have billed. Instead, NEP relied on internal calculations that residents cannot independently verify. NEP eventually admitted billing errors for multiple months, acknowledging that October and November electric bills were calculated using the wrong seasonal distribution rate, and issued limited credits. After that, NEP stated that its review was complete and declined further examination of billing methodology--while simultaneously inviting "further questions," with no path for additional review or resolution. This review is not about disliking utility costs. It is about a lack of transparency, accountability, and verifiable billing practices in a company residents are often forced to use. If NEP's billing truly matches the host utility, it should be straightforward to demonstrate that with documentation. In our case, that documentation was never provided. Based on my experience, renters should be extremely cautious and scrutinize every charge before signing a lease that requires Nationwide Energy Partners.

I lived in Powell years ago for 10 years. At that time Powell was rural so most of us had back up…read moreheat. Once there was a power failure but it was due to Powell growing faster than the transformers. I read every review only cause its a habit of mine. I find a lot of the problems people had here with AEP is their own personal responsibility. BAD CREDIT is a biggie-you are now paying for all that student debt you skipped payments on. Fix your credit and your life would be more hassle free. It is your responsibility to alert your utilities (water, electric, direct tv)that you moved. Period. And check again to make sure they closed that account. Oh and did you have good credit with the utility company? Oh so you didn't pay a few bills last year...don't expect them to go head over heels for you. You have to go online to double check that it went thru-you would do that with online banking depositing that check from mommy & daddy why won't you check your utility account to make sure it is closed? And with rebates-you ALWAYS need to read the requirements. That is not the utilities problem but the customer for not being a good shopper. And with wind, you better figure out how much wattage you use in a day, then compute what the solar puts out-and see proof from the manufacture cause guess what, they lie-then see how many sunny days you had the last 5 years (farmers almanac) . People eyes glass over when the solar panel salesman (a step lower from a bridge salesman) tells you that you can sell your extra electric-what a joke! There isn't any extra power, and you will find you still have to buy, and those $22,000 solar panels will never pay off. I wish High Schools would teach a class 9-12 called LIFE. Our younger generations really lack in knowledge they need just for living. If you want to experience a bad electric company, move to Maine. Every time the wind blows 30 mph+ you have to start preparing for the black out. Keep jugs of frozen water in the freezer-will buy you a few hours of coolness. Charge up all the spare batteries for phones, and on internet. Buckets of water for the toilet cause water to flow needs electric pumps. They are a Canadian company-think they care about us? Other problems I see is not AEP or any other utility companies fault. See all those extra charges? Thank politicians-Al Gore is responsible for one, The local gov forcing the electric utility to buy that promised (see solar panels) high wattage trash burning electric plant. Thank Washington DC for all the regulations put on utilities for fake science and untrue facts COST YOU MONEY added right into your bills. Do research on your house representatives on what bills they supported-go back as much as you can to see which party is the most active in doing this. Then there's house representatives from other states trying to make a name for themselves so will come out with statements that are so far from the truth you have to laugh-but this only creates more hysteria, so the party that likes to do add ons to your utilities can add EVEN MORE and YOU WILL LIKE IT feeling you are saving the earth, when in fact its all a lie. People actually think cooling towers that are releasing steam is pollution.

They are horrible. Even when you pay the full bill on time, they somehow have a late fee on your…read morenext bill. And even when you pay the disconnect fee they add more fees on top of it later on. They do not work with you at all despite your situation. They dont care.
