If you want a "zero star experience, RENT HERE"! If I could leave zero stars I would...worst experience of my life. The West Lafayette storage on Sagamore Pkwy in West Lafayette, IN is nothing but incompetence and fraud. Rented a 10x10 space on the phone a day ahead and go to the address....gate won't open. Went inside and got zero customer service from an actual person inside the building = first indicator of the zero star experience. Find the building down the road after 30 min of driving around, get inside the building, no map or number match our storage space. Another phone call, was basically ridiculed for not being able to find our unit (which wasn't labeled at all at the front of the building with the other numbers). Fun times so far! Find the unit, open it up, and it is a 10x10 with 25% of the space removed by some type of building column, so essentially we are missing 25% of our storage space (we measured). ANOTHER call to the friendly gal in the office (insert sarcasm) and she said "Well I didn't build it" as to the explanation of why we are missing 1/4 of the storage we paid for and planned to fill with our belongings. With nothing but fury, disdain, and sweat we load as much as we can in that smaller space. Had to take some things elsewhere. Mental note to call customer service when I calm down. When that day came, tried contacting customer service and get transferred like a hot potato. I finally got smart and hit the button to "rent a storage space" from the menu to get an actual human on the phone. Was told she would "email" someone of higher power when I said I would like a 25% discount because we were misled on the space and missing 25% of the storage...she informed me I would receive a decision by email later that day. Within the hour I receive a generic email that says...SPOILER ALERT: they aren't going to discount me but would be "happy to help me" find a storage space elsewhere. I have NEVER EVER dealt with a company that has worse customer service and blatant fraudulent business practices, false advertising and just plain rotten people. read more
