It was conveniently located at ground level, no elevator needed and the large moving truck could pull right up to the facility for unloading. The facility is clean, air conditioned, required a code to get in, lots of security cameras so I felt safe even after hours. They sell locks, packing materials, have quality carts for your use, a clean restroom and water fountains. Plenty of room in the parking lot to navigate your vehicle and load / unload. As I entered the office to inform them that I had emptied the contents of my unit, this woman continuously interrupted me, and started screaming at me to "Get out"!!!!! at least ten times. She accused me of blocking her gate, which I wasn't, as my wife who was following me had no problem driving through. This woman should be fired immediately if you intend to maintain good relations with your customers and ultimate success. As a result of this encounter, I will never use your services again, and will advise my extended family and my 29 employees to do the same. I would encourage management to review the video of this encounter, if available, which took place around noon May 9.

Guess what I found a Charity and they came and took everything on 5/19. My billing went from 5/15-6/14, and they charged me my monthly rate of 158.00.(3 days) Over 3 years Big Jims has made a small fortune off of us $5688.00. but still took their 158.00. Joe's family has owned this property for 22 years. Family owned storage facilities are the VERY best especially if professionally impeccably run like Sawyer. I rented from Public storage until this year in Minnesota - - they raised my rent 50 % in May to $1500 a month for 2 thirty foot deep temp controlled units after being a loyal customer for 18 years!!! 4 years ago the top middle and local management throughout Public Storage that had worked for years, suddenly ALL quit in 2-3 months, and then rental rates sky rocketed each year. This is happening nationally with all giant corporate storage companies! I now will ONLY use top quality local regional family owned storage companies. This facility originally was an ice skating rink then a post office. They retrofitted it into a spotless, perfectly lit, very very well air conditioned/ fully temperature controlled medium sized facility. The front door slim door mounted security key pad is very easy to use. We have been coming to Sarasota visiting in-laws for 35 years and never knew this building and street existed. It is very nicely tucked away hidden off two quiet small roads. Security outside and inside are excellent and someone is in the office/ facility daily 9-5, saturdays 9-12. I feel 100 % secure here coming solo ( over age 70). Location is excellent if you live in Osprey, Sarasota, Siesta Key, Downtown Sarasota and worth the drive if you live in Longboat Key. Enjoy!

I had a problem with my door code and he fixed it quickly. He is a phone call away! Never had any issues there in the 2 years I used them! I would refer anyone to them. It was an ambitious move but I needed to do it and Door to Door set up my storage needs for me. Well they gave me a date when my stuff would arrive and said that they would contact me or the storage facility would. The date came and went and still no word.. Finally I was able to get in contact with an agent through Door to Door to tell me where my stuff was he emailed me the info and I called the Hideaway. The first person I spoke with was Buck and he was so AMAZINGLY nice. He apologized profusely for not contacting me sooner and had said that Door to Door has sent incomplete information on my container I.E. no contact info. I know right? Incredible! I spoke with Buck and he went over the different options of what I could do with my stuff have it delivered etc. I opted for the cheapest way and just asked if I could come down and get it, it ended up saving myself like 450.00 doing this way then having it delivered which was fine with me, what was even more excellent he waived the storage fee. 55. bucks knocked off for storage cost because I had only had my stuff their for like two weeks. I told him I'd let him know as soon as I could when I was coming down there. Well things came up and I wasn't able to get down to Sarasota for a good month and half. All the while Buck, and a sweetheart named Ron were idly patient with me. I finally was able to get down there just this past weekend. Ron was so nice when I met him and so incredibly helpful. He made a way for us to move our 5X8 trailer inside the facility so we wouldn't have to move in the hot sun, and even lended us a hand moving my couch and sectional in the trailer. To top it all off they even waived the fee again for me even though they could have rightfully charged me. Hideaway storage in Sarasota was AMAZING. The customer service was outstanding and above and beyond in every way. I would recommend this company to ANYONE for storage needs, seriously so awesome, so nice and so willing to work with you. We rented 4 units, filled three of them with items to move where they came and picked them up and took them to the new house. We could then unload them at our leisure. (ok, moving is anything but leisure!) The fourth box we put decorations in and are using as a "Holiday" box. They will take it to their environmentally controlled storage facility and for a small fee, store it for the year. We call them and they deliver it at no additional charge. Great way to move!
