I have never rented anything from them and I never will. I called them and others today for the first time ever inquiring about prices as I will need a unit in the near future. I made it clear that I was just checking prices and I am not ready to lease anything. After hanging up the phone a few minutes later a lady calls me to complete my electronic application that had already been submitted on my behalf with a move-in date of today. I informed her that I never gave anyone permission to create me an account and told her it was illegal for anyone to do that without my consent. Well, that was the end of that conversation. Beware. 0n 7/31/25 after 9pm I rented a storage unit. This location is not accessible after 9pm, so no big deal, on 8/1/25, I stored my stuff. On 8/2/25 I was charged another $5.** fee and called to inquire. It was a prorated charge for the 31st even though I had rented after they were closed and could not gain access until the 1st. This type of behavior is unacceptable! Oh, did I mention that to rent, you are required to purchase their insurance even if you don't want it. Misleading customers, and poor customer service has been my experience. read more

Public Storage 1730 Jake Alexander Blvd W, Salisbury, NC 28147 Self-storage facility Tammy Cuthbertson Furniture stored at Public Storage and after a year my furniture, entire bag of nice towels (a gift), dining table, and musty smell ruined my things. File insurance and was told no water damage or flooding was evident. This unit was dirty when I arrived and during Covid they were scarce. I received a offer after two months of less than $500, and this really cause my trust to waiver with Public Storage. Just sharing my experience with them. Thanks read more

At the time that I moved into my storage unit, I could not get the door on the unit to open and went to the office to ask the clerk if she could come help me. She said that she would and that it would be in about 15 minutes. We'll, I waited for a little bit and saw that the customer that she was helping had left. I thought she would be along any minute now. After another 15 or 20 minutes ( without any customer at the office) I finally left to go get my belongings... when I got back she appeared and told me that this was the first moment she had free! This is so poorly ran. I have 2 storage units over $400 a month. Get a bill for one of them and try to pay, it keeps going to paying the other one. So I over payed that before I realized I was over paying the one, I was locked out of other. No one seems to know how I can pay..... I keep hitting the Email for the passed due unit and it takes me to the other... late fees??? LATE FEES and Im over payed!!! Locked out... Oh yeah and its a Business. POOR stuff... Grrrrrr read more

This is the worst place to store your things, they cut your locks off every month if your late, I've rented with public storage for years in Florida, been late plenty of times, never had to replace a lock so many times. The prices for your unit goes up every 3 to 4 months which is crazy. I wanted to wait to write my review until I checked out, as the sales pitch is always nicer then the cancellation it seems. Yet here at Public Storage of Salisbury, NC it was easy to check out as well. I was here for 4 months and it was easy to pay online. They have a great customer service and sales team who are friendly and knowledgable. The site is safe and secure, and no issues with maneuvering through the buildings. Public Storage bought out Cowens Ford Storage. Worst storage place around since that occurred. Public Storage went up on rent by $52 without any notification. When I brought that into question was told that rent automatically increases every 6 months. Had to beg to get rent decreased but is was still a $29 dollar monthly increase. Looking or other storage places that will not treat customers like this. Beware and stay away from this company. read more

They always try to sneak in extra charges and the facility causes your things to get wet and mold, I lost $2,000 worth of valuables due to my things getting wet and ruined! I would never ever recommend public storage facilities from any state. They are horrible!! And they are extremely exspensive for such small storage spaces read more

I wish that I could give this place negative stars. The insurance coverage they force you to get is useless. My furniture that was ruined by water got molded and had to be thrown away. Insurance coverage managed by Sedgewick Claims Management through Orangedoor Insurance is the WORST!!! Stay away from outdoor storage facilities. Overpriced and not worth it. I paid 18 months on a unit only to have to throw my furniture away when it was time for me to move. I paid Public Storage and Orangedoor Insurance for nothing only to be offered $250 for the insurance claim with a $100 deductible. WTF.....can I replace with $150??? read more

Poorly maintained -- the entry/exit gates are often broken, and even when they do work, the posts they're mounted on wobble so badly it's hard to input your code. Storage bay doors are never lubricated, so they're a pain in the ass to open and close. Mine has been missing the 10-cent piece of pulldown rope for six months despite repeated requests for replacement. Storage is not secure because people have punched large holes in the drywall and your neighbors can sample your stuff through them. Staff is surly and unengaged. The required insurance is overpriced and a joke. Security is almost impossible with a raggedy-ass fence that runs along a railroad track -- anyone can penetrate unseen with ease. Don't even think about storing anything that's not sealed in a tote or protected from wet and mold. And they will raise your price a chunk as soon as they can. read more
