Jeanette - the on site manager - reached out to me multiple times leading up to our moving items into our space to make sure we were able to access the space under the new safety guidelines during the covid pandemic - but it was really what she did for us this past weekend that I'm writing about. Jeanette went above and beyond anything I could have expected when we were unloading a truck and putting items in a new space - and the power went out during a storm. After making sure we were all safe - no one stuck in an elevator - she helped us out by lending us a ground floor space for 48 hours until we could return and move everything up to the space we'd originally rented on the 3rd floor. I would happily recommend this location for self storage.

No way to contact anything or anyone but an answering machine to have the matter handled. During this time the gate to the facility was wide open, none of the doors were locked, the lights and air conditioning were off (obviously) and likely the security cameras were too by the third day without power. They don't prorate months so now I'm stuck paying for another month at an insane rate. If you are a day late with payment they will harass you, but if you want to move out before the end of the month and the power's off you're sol.

I was initially happy with the facilities and service here. It was a little more expensive than…read moremost places but I was willing to accept that due to it being climate controlled and close to my house. However, after only 2 months of renting my price went up by 50%, and then another 25% after another 2 months and then another 30%. I had my unit on autopay so I didn't notice it right away, but they ended up hiking my rate over 100% in less than a year without any warning before signing the lease that this could happen. They hope that you have movers fatigue and will just accept the new price without doing anything about it. I reached out about moving out and no lower rate was offered. I am in the military and am deploying, so the days leading up to my deployment instead of being spent preparing and seeing family, were spent moving everything out of extra space storage because I refuse to give them another cent.

Spacebox is a great place to for your storage needs if you're interested in a clean, safe and…read morecentrally located storage facility. I've used other storage facilities in the area, and they pale in comparison. I was offered a great deal on a last minute unit, that I needed for a couple of months. They have a convenient loading dock in the front of the building that's only accessible with your security code. You also have to use your security code to access the elevators, which adds another level of security and safety when coming and going out of the facility. No need to worry about cars blocking the loading dock, because there are several designated parking spaces available if you're not loading or unloading. I really appreciate how sanitary the facility is, compared to others that I've used in the area. Lots of bright light, climate controlled units varying in size, and something right for any budget. If I was going to rent a facility for storage, I would definitely choose Spacebox. Aside from the convenience of location, and how well-maintained facility is, they also have wonderfully helpful staff.

The customer service isn't criminal but it's baseline. Several negatives from my experience:…read more *They lock you out of access on the last day of the month for what was explained to me as "taking inventory".... I am a musician and need access to some gear on a moment's notice and experienced this "inventory lockout" on the last day of the month several times when I needed my stuff and couldn't get to it. I simply forgot about the lockout at the end of the month and it was inconvenient to plan around rather than having true 7 day a week access. Be aware of this. *Had auto-debit set up for my unit and had to replace my debit card; this of course meant my payment was rejected since the old card was canceled. Instead of simply calling or emailing me, they sent a snail mail letter telling me my form of payment was cancelled and since I don't get to check my mail all that often I was charged a late fee. Again, not criminal customer service - it is my responsibility to pay for contracted services after all but they could have picked up the phone or at least emailed. They have all my contact information and it would have saved me a late fee after at least 1 year of on time payments. *The 30 something male manager was very personable and friendly and let me know how much he appreciated my business, but the other employees I encountered were not in the business of smiling or communicating in a friendly customer service oriented way. It's just a given that if you're not ordering from a fast food restaurant that you're treated as a valued customer from top to bottom. I was not given this feeling from all of their staff. I felt strongly enough about not having my expectations met to take my business elsewhere.
