Worst place ever they stole my truck when was paid to store there they had towed and held illegallly

Raised my rent $65 dollars on the 4th month. Cant ever get anybody to answer the phone during so called business hours. Very frustrating.

It was pretty easy to get set up with a storage unit! Staff was friendly and helpful. My only grip is that the ground by the gate isn't level so water puddles up and it's pretty deep. Plus you need to go through the puddles to enter the gate code resulting in wet shoes. Just a heads up. Also, I got a larger storage area and it came with a lock, but j was a bit disappointed I could not attach a secondary pad lock for added security. Would I recommend it? Sure, probably. read more

I can't wait to get my stuff out of here! Over priced and they keep raising the price! I was set up on autopay and I just got a notification that my payment was late. I swear these people are crooked. Instead of paying the 131.00 (which has gone up $31 dollars/month in one year) they are charging me 157.00 for a late fee that shouldn't be late considering I was set up on autopay and the payment is in my autopay account. Try to sell your stuff if 30 days late. During the Pandemic they offered no assistance or relief and payment increased. They cut my lock that I paid for off and put theirs on and now demand that I buy one to replace the one they cut off. $134 for a small unit is ridiculous. My storage unit had a depression in the pavement just outside of the door. My belongings didn't get wet, but accessing my unit was difficult because of 4-5 inches of water directly in front of the door. They also have huge puddles of water at the entrance gate. Getting into or out of the property after a rain is going to leave your feet and pants wet. The staff here is very unprofessional. They have yelled at my wife over the phone and called multiple times while my wife was attempting to work. They are NOT military friendly. They would not accept my wife's power of attorney to handle my account. Instead of using the existing account, they forced her to open a new one. Again, terrible customer service in every aspect of my interactions. If you can avoid using this location, do so. There are better cared for and better managed properties elsewhere in KC. I have zero interest in ever using this location again. If you are unlucky enough to already be a customer here, I recommend dealing with the website or their national customer service 800 number. You'll get better service from a stranger over the phone than the person on the other side of the counter. read more

Every month there prices are higher and higher there 1 dollar for the first month is bullshit, I paid about 70 dollars the first month then 135 the second month now there trying to charge me over 200 dollars for the 3rd month these people are a joke, they dont tell you anything about these prices that get higher every month. I can not wait to pull my things from these crooks I will never do business with this storage facility again. Also the balding older guy in the office is a absolute idiot it took over a hour to get me signed up for one storage unit. He had to redo everything about 4 times because he kept making mistakes not sure why he works there he didn't know his ass from elbow. These people take advantage of people. Businesses that do things like this to people are a disgrace to the industry. And they should be put out of business for shit like this. read more

So I called to inquire about the dollar first month and was told my fee would ONLY BE 25.00. I get there and it's 65.00. Last check 25 wasn't 65 right? Pissed off. Kinda feel lied to. When I brought it up I was told "yea when you do this over the phone they don't tell you about all the additional fees and add-ons." Yea well I didn't plan on 65.00 either so now what? This public storage and the home office support is absolutely disgusting . We have a pod we were trying to move out of to move into this storage facility. When we informed the property manager of this she absolutely refused to allow us to bring the pod onto the property to unload it. There is plenty of room along the fence or even to the side in any of the rows to have the pod sat down without blocking access to anyone or disturbing other tenants. However the manager insisted abd informed us if we brought the pod onto the property they would have it towed off and call police. They said it needed to be placed in the parking lot next door to the property. This is absolutely crazy that I would have to unload the pod onto a truck or trailer just to go next door through the security gate to access my unit then unload the truck trailer again into the storage unit. No one else is barred from bringing in a moving truck and spending as much time as needed to unload and out into their units do why am I descriminated against ? I called the main office only to not get a response then get a call back but then they wouldn't return my calls . This is silly and nutz I have now spent an additional 160 dollars on an extra month of the pod and now in going to have to hire some guys to unload the pod onto a truck and trailer so I can drive it 250 feet just to have them guys unload everything into my unit. This is unbelievable . I can't believe they would treat a veteran like this without any compassion whatsoever. By the way the way they charge for units is nothing less than criminal anyway because I know the price on my 10x30 is only 110 dollars when I know some people are paying 200 or more for the exact same size unit. This whole place is less than ethical the way they try to force insurance on you and require their special little locks which they also happen to sell. Nothing but crooks and jerks the Gladstone mo. Property is where this occured and the manager is unreasonable and a total $@$&@.  U would not recommend this place to anyone until the management is turned over read more

Our unit door was damaged by a vehicle backing into it. They called and I went over to inspect the damage. The door was off the track at the bottom but it didn't look like anything was taken when we first looked at it. I took our lock off and the property manager put their lock on so repairs could be done. Four or five days later they called and told me the doors was repaired. I went back and we put our lock back on the door. When I opened the door it was apparent that we were robbed. The manager said she was sorry but she had to leave for an appointment. Boxes and tubs were opened and our stuff was strewn over the floor. This break in occurred while their lock was on our door. They have no security cameras on the property. read more

Don't rent a parking space here. They aren't insured and they don't have cameras. Very dissatisfied with this place. For all the money all of their tenants give them each month you'd think they would invest in some basic security cameras. There is not a rating low enough I could give this place. read more

dont rent from public storage! its a sham! they will raise your rent after telling you it will stay the same. and they raised it by 30%!! no manager ever returned a call or district manager has called me back ever! its been 3 months! they hook you with a dollar 1st month rent then increase it as they see fit. you cant lock in your rent or get a lease for 6 months or a year to lock in the rent. zero stars!!!!!! they are classic bait and switch con artists!!! go to a locally owned storage unit in gladstone or kc. public storage is a fleecing company!! read more

I waited for a customer who was behind me who was supposedly only paying a bill at this location for about 30 minutes. Then when they started working with me the lady kept apologizing for her sickly condition that day and suggested that we drink orange juice so we would not get sick. My son was with me. On top of that she then told me I had to purchase insurance on the space unless I could prove that I already had it through my home owners policy. None of that was at the website when I reserved the space or I would have brought proof with me. Therefore I wasted $11 because I have coverage from my home owners policy. When I reserved the space online it said I would have 24 hour access and the lady told me that was not true. Then she also said they are to have a manager on site but you cannot call them to help because they are very sick. What kind of rinky dink operation is this. It took us so long that day I had to transport my son to the movie theater and pick him up later because otherwise he would have missed a date. Later when I went to show my insurance and pay my next payment a couple of days ago I waited in line for over an hour and I was the third person there. The kid did not even know there were other people in line. He had trouble taking off the insurance and I am not sure that it will be removed when I go to set up automatic payments for January.
