The elevator was broken for a time but management (Laura) was amazing at being responsible and responsive to my needs. Ms. Laura called when it was fixed and discounted my rental rates to reflect the time I was unable to access my unit. Not only that, when I left a valuable item outside the building, she recovered it put it aside for me to pick up! Demonstrating that she is observant and a real gatekeeper to tenants at this location. Public Storage is lucky to have her and so am I as a long-time tenant. She was informative and had great sense of pride towards helping me with my storage unit. she gave me the best option for my situation and even offered me recommendations for storing my essentials (like moth balls (lavender) and mattress sheets to protect my bedding. The price discrepancies based off of what is quoted online and in store is crazy/ misleading but the customer service of the team members at the location were absolutely amazing! worst storage facility I've EVER dealt with by far!!! where do I begin!?! first of All the Outdoor units are Old, filthy and Infested with Rats, roaches and whatever else is around! The indoor units are pretty decent but the elevators suck and the carts are hardly available so if it's crowded you're out of luck. On top of Alll of that they have the Nerve to keep raising the Prices like the quality is going up as well! The bathrooms are closed or "Out of order" so you Literally have to Leave the property to relieve yourself!!! I guess the real reason I wanted to make this statement is because for such a reputable company there's no reason to be this Bad!!! Don't waste your time or money with this place. The facilities are very dirty and the outside of the climate controlled building always smells of urine. The ladies at the office are nice, but not helpful with concerns or problems. Pretty much a "shrug & oh well" attitude most of the time. I've had a climate controlled unit here for a while and took my belongings to another company. I did not feel safe at this location even during the day. When cancelling my rental, I was forced to call their corporate line because the location's manager doesn't return calls/messages left on their answering service. I waited for two weeks on a return call for three voice messages I left. Seems they need a bit of customer service training as well as housekeeping. read more

I have been storing overflow at the Frontage Rd location in the climate control building for over 5 years. The customer service is always good. A couple of years ago, some of my important papers and things were ruined by a water overflow from somewhere. Don't know, but luckily I got in there before any mold starting developing. When I reported it to the management, they were unconcerned and stated they didn't know where the water could of come from. Fast forward to today. Recently, I picked up another unit and was helped my Zanobia and Laura. They were awesome. Very friendly and accommodating. I rented an outdoor parking spot here by calling the main reservations line and arrived same day. The spot was on an incline and our camper would have rolled away. There was another spot potentially available, but the office was locked and no property manager on site, although it was during their business hours. PM also did not answer phone and has never returned my call. We packed up and left after roaming property several times looking for someone who worked there. Calling back the corporate line they said they couldn't do anything to change or cancel my reservation, I had to deal with the local property manager. Sooo, they could take my $ for a reservation and do nothing for me to ensure that reservation is fulfilled to my satisfaction INCLUDING allowing me the ability to cancel entirely, same day! I have called several times to close the loop with these crooks and am always told by customer "care" that I have to deal with the local manager. Every time I call the local number there is no answer, I leave a vm and nobody calls me back. Well guess what else? A month later I am getting delinquent notices for a parking spot that is empty. Ultimately, if this is not resolved and there is any attempt to put something on my credit report, I will take legal action. This is at the Fairfax VA Public storage location and maybe other ones aren't as horrible. It seems if corporate can't do anything about bad business practices of local franchise owners though I would suggest not renting with Public Storage period. I know I won't. read more

I moved to this Public Storage location after visiting my storage unit at the Old Dixie Road Public Storage and discovering "rodents" had attacked my unit and left their mark on my belongings. The district manager for Public Storage found this location for me and I couldn't be happier. Not only is my unit half the price of what I was paying at the other Public Storage, but it's climate-controlled! Laura was extremely courteous and helpful when I went to sign my paperwork and get my unit and made sure I was thoroughly informed of the rules and was satisfied with my unit before move in. PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE. I paid about $70 for a month of storage for a unit that was advertised as First Month for $1. All that extra money in fees. I rented the unit on the 28th of the month. 4 days later on the 1st of the month they invoiced me an additional $230! My $70+ was for a FULL MONTH. As I only needed the unit for a week, I moved my stuff out in a few days called to clarify if this invoice was correct and they said yes I have to pay! I went to talk to the staff in person and she said no, it must be a mistake! All of this within 10 days of renting the unit for 1 month. Of course I didn't pay and they sent it to collections! Did I mention the storage unit had ants and an unknown dried liquid in it that smelled. I have photos. If you want to pay $300+ for ONE MONTH in an outdoor, tiny, infested, stinky, dirty box that they couldn't even be bothered to clean before renting then be my guest. read more

Dirty, quite often the restroom is broken. Very hard to get anyone on the phone here or help with any issues. A lot of their policies don't make sense. My fiance opened this account for me but Public Storage would not allow us to later put my name on the account. Awful hours, not convenient to access your storage unit. Overpriced. read more

I've been a customer here since 2007. I've never had an issue with my unit. I'm in a climate control unit. The customer service has always been great. Today, Zambia and Ms. Laura were terrific. They helped me pick out a second unit. Very close to my first unit. Was in and out in 20 minutes. Highly recommend this location. read more

Dirty straight up nasty. Stomped on a cockroach in the climate controlled building. Storage was not cleaned out before I rented. Bathroom broke too. Discarded mattresses, clothing, boxes, etc everywhere outside; it literally looks like a county dump facility. Only a handful of carts for the entire facility(outside and inside). Three employees will be on a shift and you know all three are lazy because not one cleaned, checked the alarms or keypads to the elevators, and all 3 will ignore you in the office while they bs about stuff unrelated to work. Cops regularly are on Frontage road. This is definitely the hood storage. With all the Public storages around I never knew one could be so ghetto. read more

I came and rented here earlier in the month and I wish I hadn't. this by far was the worst experience I have ever had my entire life. The customer service I received from the lady who did my move in was just awful. Its sad to say but base off what I went through I would not recommend to no one to come to this location. She gave every impression that she did not like her job and that she did not want to be there but when you are dealing with a professional environment you are suppose to be on your p's and Q's at all times I felt as if I was part of the problem just for being there and how she treated me. read more

The customer service and the ladies that work in the office were TERRIFIC. They were always friendly and helpful. The one star review is for the following reasons: 1. my storage unit was in a two story building that was supposed to be climate controlled and secure. The climate control aspect was often not working properly and it turns out the building was not so secure. 2. the facility was often overrun by trash and a very noisy and dirty elevator. 3. My unit was one of the units that was recently burglarized. Items were taken from my unit. The office indicated that it was because I did not have a cylinder lock on my unit, they informed me that padlocks are easily tampered with and compromised. The ladies in the office were very helpful and suggested that I contact corporate should I have concerns that they were unable to address. So, I contacted corporate. It took MANY attempts, leaving many voicemails because I could not get anyone on the phone. After many attempts and over a week of trying to get someone on the phone, I received a call and expressed my concerns of safety to a District Manager. The robbery took place during access hours ... and based on the information I received, the cameras really did not pick up enough detailed information to either prevent the burglary or identify the parties involved. My concern was for my safety when visiting my unit. I'd hate to come into my unit while something like that was taking place. I suggested some additional safety measures (like real-time cameras connected to local police, individual access codes for customers) to make consumers like me feel safer. Since the incident, I have been extremely cautious and did not visit my unit alone. The District Manager indicated that Public Storage has taken a safety measure by decreasing the access hours from 9pm to 7pm and that Public Storage will not spend more money to implement any additional safety measures, and that if I felt unsafe then maybe I should consider moving my business elsewhere. I did feel unsafe, so I have moved elsewhere. I no longer use Public Storage and never will again! read more

I'm currently working out the country since 2014, and I packed up ALL MY things I own in the world in a 10x10 Public Storage unit. For almost 3 years I paid $75 a month, but my payments went up, and I wasn't aware... I checked on my stuff at lest once a year, and the last time before this last visit which was Nov 2017 I was about 2 to 3 payments ahead. Do you know when I came back this November, Public Storage on Frontage Rd. in Atlanta GA had sold my storage for $125!!! They said they called my daughter, but couldn't tell her why the were calling! Why wouldn't they tell her when I had her on my account? Really! My daughter said they wouldn't even tell her who they were. So, they sold everything I owned for $125, and I had paid them for 3 years at $75 a month. You go up on the payments without telling my daughter! So after they sold my things, they said I owed them $258. I paid them. No long time customer consideration at all. I've heard that they've done this type of practice before from my friend in Milwaukee. They didn't send me an email, NOTHING! Things like pictures, jewelry and family heirlooms that can never be replaced I've lost! So, I say Public Storage you will get what you deserve. Tell your friends and family not to ever use them again! They are thieves, and they care nothing about their customers. I explained to them that my daughter was my contact person, and they told me no problem. So, why wouldn't they tell her why they needed to speak with me because she could have let me know they had gone up on my payments. Why did they let me put her on my account if they weren't going to talk with her or even tell her who they were. So, I say move your stuff out of their facilities as soon as you can. I will never use them again, and I will tell everyone I know to never use them. read more
