Like everyone else said, clean, efficient, price is more than reasonable, work is absolutely solid, and gives amazing recommendations when I ask about their opinion on aesthetics. Usually on time or early, if plans change they let me know way ahead of time. They also care about the longevity of their work (an example would be coming to me and letting me know I should buy a metal hose rather than use the one provided with the washer/dryer unit.) They started last Monday and had the rough done by that Thursday during which time they started the tile work--anyone whose done any DIY construction knows the rough takes the longest and they were able to start the finish work that same week. No one tried to upsell me on anything, or recommend work I didn't need done unless I specifically asked/requested. It was all about what my vision of what I wished the bathroom to look like and that is really important to me. My husband took one look at everything they did so far (he's a perfectionist, to put it lightly) and was extremely impressed--he had quite a bit of anxiety about not being able to finish it ourselves but it put him at ease when he saw the skill and care they put into making it our (my) dream bathroom. The workmanship is excellent, and they are meticulous about doing it right. Because of this, I also contacted them to work on another property I have in Queens, and again, the price of which was reasonable and since I trust their work, it was a no brainer to go with them again.

Natural marble evokes images of nature and even the ocean. Quartzite can emit light and allow backlighting on a countertop. If you're interested in that type of thing. For me just seeing light through quartzite is amazing. The one thing I suggest is 1) go well before they close - they don't appreciate last minute browsers coming in at closing time. 2) if you buy - nark your piece or inspect before your fabricator pucks up. We, unfortunately, dealt with Joe for our basic 60" vanity top. It was a complete disaster from…read morestart to finish. Workmanship and especially customer service are completely lacking. We will most definitely be looking elsewhere for the rest of renovations. This was our awful experience: It took a week for Joe to get a hold of the template guy to schedule an appointment for which he never showed up. Joe, of course, did not take the blame or apologize for the no show. When the measurements were finally taken we were told by Joe that it would be less than 2 weeks to fabricate. Four weeks later and after countless unanswered messages from Joe, we finally got the word our counter was ready (by calling ourselves- don't expect them to do their job). We scheduled the install and they showed up without the back splash because, according to the installer, they broke it while cutting (when we asked Joe why we were told it was all done if it had broke while cutting he changed his story saying it broke while loading onto the truck). We were underwhelmed with the product and installation. There was a large gap left between the wall and counter top. We complained & Joe said the side splash (which we did NOT want or order, but apparently paid for) would cover it- we had no choice but to use the side splash at this point. We just got the back splash and side splash installed and they are too short for the counter top. I expected everything to be perfect considering it took a month for a 60" vanity top. Precision is important in this industry, but apparently not to Gem. The polish on the stone is not good, the measurements taken were not correct and Joe was an absolute horror to deal with. They take no responsibility for their mistakes and they did not reduce the price for our troubles and the poor quality of their stone or offer us a corrected back splash for their measuring error. Save yourself a lot of stress, wasted time and money... go elsewhere.
