I authorized the $150 fee to have some tiles pulled and tested; the D&S employee said we'd have results the next day. When we didn't have results the next day we discovered it was because D&S hadn't submitted anything for testing yet. They were waiting for me to pay an invoice that I had not yet received...to say nothing of the fact that their employee never said anything about pre-payment (otherwise my realtor would have given him a check on the spot). Since they don't take credit cards I can't just pay them over the phone. Now I am going to have to take a half day off of work to get to D&S offices before they close at 5PM so I can pay them. They are charging me over three times what the lab actually costs to do the testing (I know of a lab in Parsippany that will do the test for ~ $20/sample X 2 samples). When using D&S seemed like the quick, convenient option, that was worth the extra expense. Now? Notsomuch. I will still use them for the testing, as it will still be the quickest option for me, but I have serious doubts about whether I would employ such a company for any further work (such as the actual remediation should the tiles come out positive). My realtor, on the other hand, is PISSED!!! I'm pretty sure D&S will not be getting much future business from the realtors in her circle again.

Mikula was the largest company and I located them with a Google search. The other two contractors I found by word of mouth. Mikula's estimate was the most competitive and once they started the job they worked continuously to completion. They demolished a 4500 square-foot house with concrete basement, a four car garage with attached clubhouse and an in-ground reenforced concrete, swimming pool. The operators of the excavating equipment were highly skilled and easy to communicate with at all times. Scheduling was accomplished through office personnel who were very knowledgeable and responsive. There were no glitches in the entire operation--from estimating the job to obtaining permits to completion. In fact, the quality of the work was so impressive, I hired Mikula to build a rock wall around the perimeter of a pond on my property and install a French drain to divert surface water. This second job was completed in 2 1/2 days and the results were impressive. This is a company that has earned its reputation for excellence and the machine operators and laborers obviously take pride in their work. Plus, Mikula owns most of the equipment used on the job--excavators, dozers, skid steer machines dump trucks and trailers - -so the company is not dependent on others to get the job done. I highly recommend this company. John Collins Livingston, NJ

I had a popcorn ceiling with asbestos that needed to be removed. Danny is phenomenal. Quick to…read morerespond, was very nice and answered all my questions. Test results came back in ~24 hours. Pricing was competitive, completed work ahead of schedule and were able to get me booked in about a week. The quality of the work was extremely good, Danny is extremely professional, and I HIGHLY recommend anyone in NJ who is looking for this type of service. Thank you again!

Danny was great!…read more For our inspection/estimate, he arrived on time, advised us on how to get multiple pieces of insulation from the attic tested. He actually told us how to get it done from someone else, as it would be cheaper than him doing it. But since we were on a time crunch, we opted to go with him and the Lab he works with. Very cool that he doesn't try to get more money from you and gives you options. When we scheduled the work to be done, he was very busy and didn't reply to the emails we had sent, but we finally reached him by phone. We confirmed the date in advance, filled out the contract paperwork, but the day before he was supposed to start, at 5PM, he said there was a scheduling mix up and he wouldn't be able to come in. I wonder since we were talking with him directly if he was the one who simply forgot to put us in the schedule. It messed up our plans a bit, as we had scheduled other contractors that same week so everything would be coordinated. We had to reschedule for the following week and prolong our stay in NJ ( we are originally from NY). Regardless, his crew was on time for the work at 8AM. Danny called us at 7 AM to let us know they were en route. They were very thorough. After the removal they took 1-2 samples to test the air and make sure that nothing went airborne. They sent it to the lab to be tested right away and there was a bit of a wait, for around 3 or so hours to get the results. Once we were all clear, it was all good. Would recommend!
