You walk into the midway area and they have a merchant stand with all kinds of cool Halloween items not just their own merch but other artists and creators they host which is awesome to have locals be recognized. They have a small walk through "home haunt" area which was so cool. Especially knowing that the show stemmed from a home haunt to now a full blown business. Speaking of business, the owners, you won't know it but are always out and about when the show is going on. Interacting with customers, helping with crowd control.l or even par taking in the actual show! Although very clearly stated on the site. It does have a very unique and thrilling storyline. They keep the concept flowing very nicely and utilize the size of their attraction to the fullest. Every actor made the experience. They PERFORM! Yes there are anamatronics and jump scares but the actors bring the entire show and scares to LIFE! The set designs have some of the most incredible never before seen ideas that really stood out. From where it started to where it is has been incredible. Worth every penny and drive out!

They offer activities all October on the weekends at various times. But night time I can imagine is the most fun. The ticket line was short but the line for the event was pretty long. It did move quick as we got there a bit earlier in the evening. Once you are through that line, you get on tractors that take you to the first spot. And then there's more waiting. Even though it was cold the staff did a great job, they were all in a great mood and festive. The corn maze was fun but not as scary as I expected and not too hard to navigate. I enjoyed the twisted path more, it was more scarier. The path is very well put together with each piece creating an awesome ambiance. Overall it was a great experience and worth doing again. There are a number of mini haunted houses along the route that you enter while walking on the trail. Definitely bring your boots because it gets very muddy. Please note: Their actors DO TOUCH YOU, which was unexpected. They will grab your legs, shoulders, etc. Besides that, we had a great time and have to say that this place beats Erebus any day. P.S. Each section was unique and fun with lots of unexpected thrills. I did have a very hard time navigating the pipe maze section because of a disability. The 3D effects in the circus area are fantastic, and the towering clown..... BRILLIANT! The music was wonky in the Wonderland area - did not fit the vibe at all. Aside from the icky orange guy at the start, the off-setting funky smell at the end triggered an airway reaction that had me scrambling for my inhaler. Still, I've already called out of-town family and friends to come next year to experience The Haunt. They especially will enjoy that clown section!!!

Been a returning customer here for years. This is by far the longest wait we've ever had in the GA…read moreline, on weeknight at opening. From the outside, it looks like the line is "not that long." Over 2 hour wait once inside. They need let ppl know the approximate wait time when you get in line. MI Adventure. Disney. They all let you know your wait time. Perhaps we would have bought the fast pass had we known. There are other options for haunted attractions. This one is losing its appeal.

Great haunted house in the greater Mid Michigan area!…read more First, the location--it's located out in a rural area, a ways south of Jackson. Yes, this probably makes for a bit of a drive but adds to the overall experience. Driving through the dark woods, I could imagine we were straight out of a horror movie. Upon arrival, the sprawling property, a former pig farm, does not disappoint. The property is big.. perhaps too big considering there seemed to be a lot of unused space in the middle between the haunted houses. The haunt does a really great job with the staging/waiting area. Great detail here and I loved the way the line was situated to allow the actors to easily move about and frighten folks in line. Great attention to detail in here too. The waiting area can add so much to the overall haunt experience and I'm excited when a place uses it to full advantage. The houses themselves: DarkSyde has 4 distinct houses, but they are basically all strung together, one after another. In other words, we waited in line once and then went through each attraction in order. They did not have a hayride or zombie paintball going this year, but the 4 houses provided enough activity for the price. They had Labrynth/medieval themed maze, your now-mandatory killer klown 3D maze, an outdoor pallette maze that was actually a maze, the "rusthole" and a pirate theme maze. Of these, I enjoyed the Rusthole the most. It's an interesting theme - sort of industrial factory gone out of control. Lots of strobes, darkness and loud noises. Good stuff. Some constructive suggestions: the outdoor pallet maze was a cool idea but turned out to be too confusing. Our group got turned around and accidentally exited out of what we later guesses was a safety/chicken exit. From here we were so confused we almost missed out on the Pirate maze which comes next. The actors here could do more to help guide people through or they need to block the safety exits better. The end is also a little disappointing - there is a good final surprise in the pirate maze, but then you are left to go down a long hallway to fill out a survey. Kinda anticlimactic. Could develop the ending to be more of an intense grand finale. There is also more the haunt could do with all the space in the middle of the attraction (the big grass area with bonfire) to keep people engaged when not going in the haunted house itself. All in all a great experience in the Michigan haunted house scene!
