Usually very happy with our experience. Tonight was a different story. We purchased tickets online, picked our seats and showed up 20 mins before show time... We then waited in line for over half an hour to get our tickets and enter the theater just to find we missed the first 10 mins of the movie. Super disappointed. Before covid they had kiosks to use, we were able to skip the line and go directly in the theater. Post covid they did away with the kiosk which is understandable. However, what I don't understand is why they wouldn't open another line for tickets only?! Once we got to the counter I asked the attendant to get a snarky "because of covid" remark. We won't be coming back. I'd rather pay double to get the whole movie rather than a 30 minute wait, a snarky attendant and missing a portion of the movie. If you can't figure this out. Stop pre-selling tickets online. read more

If you want a cheap movie, this is definitely the place to come, it's kind of small and older. But they show the same movies for a cheaper price! They have tons of snacks, drinks, slushies, pops, popcorn, pretzel and hotdogs, I'm sure more. Just a heads up, if you get theatre 10, don't bother. That theatre is the smallest I have ever seen, the seats are SO unbelievably squished together! Way uncomfortable! The prices of the food is super affordable. You know some people go to Walmart and get some small snacks and sneak them in ;) I wouldn't do that ..... because that's wrong. But some do! Try the nacho cheese and white cheddar on your popcorn definitely my favorite! They also have some little booster seats for little kids which is super helpful to see over big headed people!! This theater is our choice when we want to catch a movie. For four of us to go see a movie, each get our own popcorn and drinks cost less than just the cost of four tickets at one of the major theaters in town. The seats are comfortable and it's always clean. We also like that the popcorn is self- serve so we can get the popcorn how we like it as far as extra butter and salt is concerned. Drinks are self-serve too. The movies are all the most recent releases as well. Great little theater! read more

There are better theaters in the area. However there are not any theaters that can beat m89's prices. We go to the movies a lot. M89 5 tickets 5 large drinks 2 large popcorns and 5 boxes of candy little under 50 bucks. Compare that to the bigger chains in the area it cost about the same for 2 tickets 2large drinks 1 large popcorns and 2 boxes of candy. The service is pretty good too. One super plus if you get a hot dog the have all the fixens to do it up Chicago style. The 1 con to all the pro, no free refills on soda or popcorn, but refill are .75 cents. read more

M-89 gets four stars simply due to it's affordability. The screens aren't super high quality, the seats are akin to an airplane, and the place is a mess...but they make up for it with the price and accessibility financially. The popcorn is really good and for $3 we got popcorn and pop...what a steal! They have you pick certain seats, so be sure to schedule ahead. This is the best place in town to see a movie for a great price. I enjoy seeing the movies here, admission is cheap and matinees aren't breaking the budget. The seats are comfortable and you aren't losing anything by going to a cheaper movie theater. Most theatres are more expensive than this but you are paying for a brand name or the picture quality. M-89 had great sound, pictures and the movies are always accessible. I have seen many movies on release and back in 2012 I saw a midnight release as well. M-89 is a great place to watch movies and enjoy for a great price. read more

Who do I need to speak to about a double charge on my daughters cash card? Why was she denied a refund and told to return in 48 hrs and why didn't she get a receipt? I would argue that this is by far one of the best movie theaters on the west side of the state! I've been there many of times throughout the past three years, and I am never disappointed. Went yesterday to see "Wonder" with a few friends and had a great experience. The movie started relatively on time when compared to big-chain movie theaters who play 45 minutes worth of ads. Paid only $10 for the ticket (with reserved seating), a small drink, large popcorn, and box of candy. The only suggestion I would give is to improve the popcorn, as it isn't all that impressive. Overall all though, I LOVE this theater and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable movie-going option. read more

This is a great small town movie theater. There isn't anything flashy or fancy here. Having said that it is a very inexpensive time. For two of us we saw 2 different movies, pop and popcorn for $21. No way you could get that in a big city theater. My favorite part is you get to fill your own popcorn. Why is that so cool you ask? You fill your bag part way, then you can put butter and salt, then fill some more and repeat. It sucks when it comes pre filled and only the top gets the seasonings. read more

Best movie theater for kalamazoo, and plainwell. Make the journey it is more than worth it. It's not just because of the prices either. The lay out of the place, concessions, service, and everything else is exponentially nicer than what you get just 10 miles south. The kids working the theaters in kalamazoo are generally okay but their ownership has placed them in an embarrassing and shameful position compared to their proud counterparts at M-89. Just ten miles north but a light years difference. If you go to a movie theater then do the right thing for yourself, date, family, and country by going to M-89 theater in plainwell versus kalamazoo ten. Your spirits and pocketbook will be in much higher standing for doing so. read more

Sure, you can find larger theaters with better sound systems and presentation. But none of them will come close to M89's low prices. I'll take the slightly lower fidelity in exchange for cheap tickets and less expensive snacks for the family. The staff is also friendly and there's a healthy stock of booster seats. read more

Went to see The Mule with Clint Eastwood. Sound was turned way down. Not like theater sound at all. I complained but no luck. My husband then complained and said another man also complained. They turned the sound up some but still was quiet when Clint Eastwood spoke. Didn't think sound would cost extra. I complained on their website but only got a thank you for visiting and a lineup of movies. Don't bother to complain or leave comments that way, I guess. Guess I'll just have to go to another theater from now on, even though I usually like to support my local business. read more

All around love this theater. I have been to more movies in the past year and a half than my entire life (no joke). The prices are the main reason but they also have friendly staff and the latest movies. You think that for a cheap theater the movies would not be the most recent but not the case- all of the latest. I absolutley love this theater! Growing up, we would always go there for any movies. As I got older, I didn't want to always make the trek out there so I would go to a more local theater (I live in Kalamazoo). In the past few years though, I haven't gone to anywhere else but M-89! The theater itself isn't super fancy, but they make up for it in the prices! My boyfriend and I can get two tickets, two large drinks, a large popcorn, candy/food for about $20! Anywhere else in town you'd be paying at least double that. I especially love the way they have the popcorn set up! You can fill your bag yourself, and add butter or other toppings as you go! This theater is top notch, they have managed to update everything without raising ticket prices. If you want to pay $25 for two people and one movie try celebration cinema.
