Early spring the street is full of people sitting on garden chairs and in the floor outside. What makes it so popular? I do not know but I'll share my view. The menu is selective, popular for breakfast and brunch. Good bakery overall combined with different dishes: open sandwiches, full sandwiches, salad or soup of the day with baguette on the side and some desserts. It good, but nothing extraordinary. The place, minimalistic, hipsterish, trendy. Barely decorated, inside is small with most of the sitting area taken by a round bar in the center and a few 2-3 people tables. Service is friendly, young. Waitress are dress in black jeans and white T-shirt. As of drinks, wine by the glass or carafe, teas, coffee and more. Overall, and ok place. Wouldn't do +1 hour queue to get a beer here but it's nice to see the trend and fashion of the customers :)

For a weeknight, they were packed! Also, the entrance is tucked away from the main street. Look for and follow the sign to lead you to the entrance. The first thing you see as you entered the restaurant is bottles and bottles of wine on the shelves. I really can't tell you the overall space because I felt like I went from one room to another, pass the kitchen, through another room and was seated in a small room with about 6 or 7 tables. It's almost like a maze. I can tell most of the patron are locals. Friends meeting after work for drinks and a quick bite to eat. I know I'm in the right place :-) The menu is small and seasonal with the intention to order/taste every dish because the portion is small too. We started off with Bulion, which is a broth soup with duck dumplings. It was delicious and savory. The ginger in the broth soup warmed my stomach. It was exactly what I needed for our first night in Warsaw. According to other yelpers, we have to order the beef tartare. I'm not big on raw beef but it tasted better than I expected. The beef tartare is served on top of potato pancake. The potato sort of mellow out the raw meat taste. Great presentation! Chicken Liver Parfait served on a buttermilk bread was probably my favorite dish. I know liver is not for the faint of heart, but when it's done right, it's chef kiss! Chicken liver is incredibly good for us and a nutrient-dense superfood packed with protein and vitamins. I wish I can see more dishes like this served in the states. Foie Gras sales and production is strictly restricted in most states. We just have to try it whenever we are in Europe. YOLO! It's rich and buttery and served on a even more buttery brioche. Very filling. Skrei was a fish dish that we should of skipped. It was served on a big pile of foam and herbs with very little fish (see pic.). It's something I expect at a high end 13 course tasting menu, not at a wine bar. We each had a glass of Badenhorst Family White Wine. It wasn't the best I had but it works for the occasion. Tips: Service is slow and that's just how the European roll. Be patience and enjoy the view and take in the moment that you're in Poland! They charge for water and 10% service charge.

To be honest, the menu was small and I didn't really see anything I wanted, so I tried the duck. I had to knock down one star only because their portions were so small. But we still all enjoyed Ale wino.

Good wine selection! What makes this place special is also very professional and extremely nice staff. I don't remember last time I felt so pleased with service. They deserve 5 starts themselves. I got the pear and blue cheese one and it was really good. I liked how the sweetness of the pear complements the sourness of the cheese. I loved both of them, but i like mine better. He liked his better. For dessert we got cream brûlée and it was good but it was orange flavored and it didn't like that. But i'm definitely going there again.

Yes it is elegantly displayed, but for the most part it lacked flavor. I had the soup of the day, a beetroot soup with oignons and potatoes, and it was simply bland... Same for the blueberry-raspberry cake with cream. The dumplings with duck and rosemary lard were on the opposite kind of tasty in comparison. This is one dish I enjoyed, and that I would recommend. But keep in mind that you can have far better pierogis in other places, I know that for a fact :) The waiting staff was just OK. Actually they forgot my order and I had to remind them after 40mn. But that was OK I was not in a hurry. I would give the restaurant another chance and maybe try their grilled meats, shrimps, or other style of dumplings. They have a good selection of wine I guess, but when I am more a beer kind of guy, so I had a classic pint of Carlsberg (9 zl).

I would strongly recommend the soup, but a little less the dessert. It wasn't bad, but nothing special and perhaps a little dry (despite the custard inside). I believe I should have picked one of their other desserts, which looked fabulous. The waiter had actually recommended the one with poppy seeds, perhaps you can be a better customer than I was and listen to his advice Service is very welcoming, nice, fun and hospitable.
