I was very lucky to find Physical Therapist Jennifer Laube on Yelp, where she was given high reviews by former patients. Doctor Jennifer Laube PT works in Emery Physical Therapy, and she is the most professional, knowledgeable and upbeat person. First, she gave me a complete evaluation, accessing how well I can move my neck and knees, and asked about symptoms such as pain, numbness and stiffness. She identified weakness in my hips, glutes, hamstrings and shoulders and began to teach me how to do exercises that will help me stretch, strengthen and straighten up my joints and muscles. To relieve pain and stiffness, Dr. Laube gives me a deep tissue massage and ultrasound. She gave me a lot of professional advices on how to keep correct posture, sit at the computer, how to walk and how to sleep. She explained to me what my postures were poor and explained their adverse effects on my health. I continue coming for a treatment, but I am happy to admit that my joint health has improved, less pain and stiffness in my neck and knees. I have plans to get rid of pain forever.

There are a lot of excellent therapists out there; some working at IBJI. BUT--- it will be a very long time before anyone will come close to walking in Jennifer Laube's shoes.

My therapist evaluated my stride and muscle imbalances and asked a lot about my activities and exercise routine. My ankle problem is now better and I know what I should do so that it doesn't come back to haunt me again. Every appointment, I was in a private room with my therapist with lots of equipment that we used. I had undivided attention from her every time I went in. I didn't have a prescription to use my insurance for this so I was put into what they call their wellness program. It was cheaper than having to pay my deductible with my insurance. A win-win.

At that point, I explained that I had work obligations and had specifically scheduled an early appointment to accommodate my schedule. The response I received was simply, "I'm sorry." What I find most concerning is the complete disregard for a patient's time. Patients are expected to arrive early, remain punctual, and structure their workdays around these appointments, yet the same professional courtesy was evidently not extended by the provider. Running a few minutes behind is understandable; not being present at the office for scheduled appointments is something entirely different. First impressions matter, particularly in healthcare. Unfortunately, my experience suggested a lack of professionalism and respect for patients' time, which does not inspire confidence in the practice overall.
