After a couple hours user the der te knife ke forest hospital in the end of may 2020,they gave 4 shots of morphine and then sent me home with a script of tramadol for 10 tablets.About a week later after using crutches non stop and horrible pain i went into Dr Anand Vora office to undergo surgery,were he assured me that the foot would assured me it would be fixed delicately and with utmost of care. Hes were it gets good ! After a couple hours under the under the knife i finally woke up with terrible pain,they refused to give assistance to relieve the pain after the surgery ,even though 8 pins and plate were installed.I was sent home with only 10 tramdol with no refills.My fo0t swelled up 2 and half times time the normal size winch i was warned about and told it would go away even though it never did and to this day its still swollen to this day to 1 and half to and 3 and a half times its normal size.Ad raging every color of the rainbow and under the the sun while at the same time causing relentless and horrible pain ranging anywhere from a 4 and a half to unfortunately unbearable 9 to a 10 on the pain scale. What an outstanding surgeon. I broke my fibula and ankle on a work trip 7 months ago, and now have a plate with multiple screws in my leg/ankle. Being 28, I was terrified this injury would drastically affect my physical well-being the rest of my life. After being a patient of Dr. Vora's, I can honestly say that I wouldn't recommend anyone but him to any of friends/family in the future. He did outstanding work, and I'm SO thankful he has given me the ability to get back to my normal life. He is professional and beyond intelligent in what he does. My injury was a worker's comp case (which can be overwhelming to deal with), and he has been supportive to ensure I am healing properly, and not pushing myself more than I could handle. Dr Anand Vora is a great surgeon, a miracle worker! I had been looking for someone to help with my terribly painful ankles and feet for over 50 years when I found Dr Vora. Childhood Polio left me with deformed ankle and foot bones. I made an appointment, and met Dr. Vora. He was kind, friendly, and showed me before & after x-rays of many people with feet and ankles like mine. He said there is a surgery he could do that would make it possible for me to walk, after decades in wheelchairs. He did the most badly damaged ankle first. Rehab was challenging, but I was tenacious. Once recovered, I had the second foot & ankle surgery. The second rehab went faster. My lifetime of hard plastic, knee-high leg braces was over! Today I walk, without braces or heavy orthopedic shoes! If you or someone you know has damaged feet, from Polio or accident or any reason, call Dr Vora as soon as possible. Update: The surgeon I ended up using (Dr. Waxman at IBJI) ended up working out wonderfully, the other bone Dr. Vora wanted to operate on healed completely on its own, so if I went with Dr. Vora that would have been made added pain and discomfort for no reason. When Dr. Vora cancelled on me the day before my surgery, I emailed him to explain my side of things: "If you have a problem answering my questions about my first surgery ever, which I'm absolutely dreading and nervous as hell about, then it's probably for the best that I see another doctor. Apparently it's offensive to call an orthopedic surgeon a podiatrist. I don't know the difference. From my understanding podiatrists operate on the foot and ankle too. The second doctor I consulted with (who also works at IBJI) is also an orthopedic surgeon if you want to get technical. But I wanted YOU to operate on me prior to your voicemail, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to be asking you questions about the procedure. I'm scared to do it, I've been misdiagnosed before about this injury, and a person I trust who was involved in our bus accident insisted I get a second opinion. I just want to be thorough and know what's going on. It's unfortunate you could not understand that." He responded to this email with one sentence, basically wishing me luck on my surgery, ignoring anything else I told him in that email. Total dick move in my opinion. It was only AFTER I posted my yelp review that he reached out to me (one month after he "wished me luck"). So basically I had to take this story public for him to bother to even consider what I was saying. Maybe he was hoping I would take the review down, who knows. Anyway, if anyone is in need for a GOOD surgeon who will actually listen to you and your concerns, I recommend Dr. Waxman. read more

Dr Vora performed an ankle replacement (severe arthritis from an old injury) on my ankle in April of 2018. For the first time in years I am without pain. I can walk normally and keep up with my kids and grandchildren!! As a registered nurse I tend to be more critical than most but I couldn't be happier! Almost 4 years ago , I WALKED into the hospital in Libertyville to have an ankle replacement done by the great Vora,,, I have NOT WALKED SINCE!!!! I spend my days in a wheelchair, not getting to enjoy any of the things life had to offer to me before VORA took away my ability to walk, I wish I'd never met the man, I'm 66 years old , crippled, and in a wheelchair !! Thanks vora, You took away any chances of any Golden Years I and my wife might have been able to enjoy, you ruined my foot, Took what little money that I had saved, and now here I sit, You got me started on opioid addiction of 6 or 8 m10 325 mg per day for almost 2 years, had to go to Methadone for 3 months to get weened off of them. Your ankle has ruined what I have left of my life and made my wife of 47 years work harder than she should ever have had too !! Dr. Vora is not only an amazingly skilled surgeon but also a compassionate, genuinely caring person and a humble man. I had a traumatic injury and completely ruptured my Achilles tendon. I was seen in the local ER and they could not 100% diagnose the the problem so they sent me immediately over to Dr. Vora's office. The staff and Dr. Vora were excellent about seeing me as soon as I arrived as I was in terrible pain. Dr. Vora diagnosed the injury with a physical exam but yet sent me for an MRI to confirm his diagnosis which was spot on. I was very emotional and Dr. Vora took a lot of time with me explaining my options and his professional recommendations. He never seemed rushed and he made me feel like I was his only patient. He is very compassionate. I had tendon surgery and the results are amazing! I had very little pain after the surgery and my recovery has been 3X faster than I expected. Dr. Vora and his staff were very responsive to all of my calls and emails in the post op period, even making time in his schedule to bring me in to the office immediately because I was nervous about my incision. I'm a registered nurse so I tend to scrutinize every detail. The incision was fine and has healed very well. I appreciated him taking the time from his schedule to reassure me that all was normal. Dr. Vora is a spectacular doctor who wants to do what is right by the patient, not the practice. I had two previous ankle surgeries at RUSH, however, the damage of my ankle was so much worse that RUSH's two operations would've never worked because I needed an entire ankle allograft. Before my surgery with Vora I couldn't even walk a mile without my ankle swelling like a balloon, which was not ideal being an elite 20-year-old athlete; but now, a year later, I am able to do any activity without any pain what-so-ever. It's such a night and day difference. Lastly, Vora cares so much about the patient at hand and uses surgery as a last resort, plus he's willing to go to bat for you with the insurance company. From the first appointment, he explained what was going on with my feet- what should be done, and what was incorrectly done the first time.
