Dr Vora performed an ankle replacement (severe arthritis from an old injury) on my ankle in April of 2018. For the first time in years I am without pain. I can walk normally and keep up with my kids and grandchildren!! As a registered nurse I tend to be more critical than most but I couldn't be happier! Dr Vora explained everything and I made progress just as he said I would! Can't say enough. Great experience! Thank you Dr Vora, for giving me my life back!! Suzanne Ferris read more

I paid Gonad Vora way to ooo much money to do the worst job ever on my foot. Good Lord No, he wanted to do my other foot too. My wife, &kids & two other professionals said, don't let Gonad Vora near your other foot.. Glad I listened. Having Gonad Do my foot was a VERY DUMB MOVE !! read more

We recently brought my teenager to see Dr. Vora for a broken ankle. We were very impressed with his bedside manor, the time he took with us, and the care and sensitivity he showed in reassuring my child. He was able to get us in for surgery the next day and his care and attentiveness there was equally reassuring. I highly recommend Dr. Vora. read more

Horrible Dr. wouldn't take a million dollars to have him do surgery on my ankle again. If you want complications and have Dr Vora avoid, talk down to you, and not listen to anything you say then I d give him 5 stars. The way he left me I wouldn't even give him 0 stars, that's too good for him. Also has horrible bedside manner. read more

Unprofessional and unemphatic. Has no clue how to discuss an issue with patient. Stay far away

What an outstanding surgeon. I broke my fibula and ankle on a work trip 7 months ago, and now have a plate with multiple screws in my leg/ankle. Being 28, I was terrified this injury would drastically affect my physical well-being the rest of my life. After being a patient of Dr. Vora's, I can honestly say that I wouldn't recommend anyone but him to any of friends/family in the future. He did outstanding work, and I'm SO thankful he has given me the ability to get back to my normal life. He is professional and beyond intelligent in what he does. My injury was a worker's comp case (which can be overwhelming to deal with), and he has been supportive to ensure I am healing properly, and not pushing myself more than I could handle. Highly recommended!! read more

Dr Anand Vora is a great surgeon, a miracle worker! I had been looking for someone to help with my terribly painful ankles and feet for over 50 years when I found Dr Vora. Childhood Polio left me with deformed ankle and foot bones. I made an appointment, and met Dr. Vora. He was kind, friendly, and showed me before & after x-rays of many people with feet and ankles like mine. He said there is a surgery he could do that would make it possible for me to walk, after decades in wheelchairs. He did the most badly damaged ankle first. Rehab was challenging, but I was tenacious. Once recovered, I had the second foot & ankle surgery. The second rehab went faster. My lifetime of hard plastic, knee-high leg braces was over! Today I walk, without braces or heavy orthopedic shoes! If you or someone you know has damaged feet, from Polio or accident or any reason, call Dr Vora as soon as possible. He gave me back my life. read more

Update: The surgeon I ended up using (Dr. Waxman at IBJI) ended up working out wonderfully, the other bone Dr. Vora wanted to operate on healed completely on its own, so if I went with Dr. Vora that would have been made added pain and discomfort for no reason. When Dr. Vora cancelled on me the day before my surgery, I emailed him to explain my side of things: "If you have a problem answering my questions about my first surgery ever, which I'm absolutely dreading and nervous as hell about, then it's probably for the best that I see another doctor. Apparently it's offensive to call an orthopedic surgeon a podiatrist. I don't know the difference. From my understanding podiatrists operate on the foot and ankle too. The second doctor I consulted with (who also works at IBJI) is also an orthopedic surgeon if you want to get technical. But I wanted YOU to operate on me prior to your voicemail, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to be asking you questions about the procedure. I'm scared to do it, I've been misdiagnosed before about this injury, and a person I trust who was involved in our bus accident insisted I get a second opinion. I just want to be thorough and know what's going on. It's unfortunate you could not understand that." He responded to this email with one sentence, basically wishing me luck on my surgery, ignoring anything else I told him in that email. Total dick move in my opinion. It was only AFTER I posted my yelp review that he reached out to me (one month after he "wished me luck"). So basically I had to take this story public for him to bother to even consider what I was saying. Maybe he was hoping I would take the review down, who knows. Anyway, if anyone is in need for a GOOD surgeon who will actually listen to you and your concerns, I recommend Dr. Waxman. read more

Almost 4 years ago , I WALKED into the hospital in Libertyville to have an ankle replacement done by the great Vora,,, I have NOT WALKED SINCE!!!! I spend my days in a wheelchair, not getting to enjoy any of the things life had to offer to me before VORA took away my ability to walk, I wish I'd never met the man, I'm 66 years old , crippled, and in a wheelchair !! Thanks vora, You took away any chances of any Golden Years I and my wife might have been able to enjoy, you ruined my foot, Took what little money that I had saved, and now here I sit, You got me started on opioid addiction of 6 or 8 m10 325 mg per day for almost 2 years, had to go to Methadone for 3 months to get weened off of them. Your ankle has ruined what I have left of my life and made my wife of 47 years work harder than she should ever have had too !! This is just a small piece of what that surgery and the never ending pain has done for myself and my wife... I would rather had turned out giving you 5 stars,, but,, You don't even deserve 1 star, I hope you realize what you have done, I had foot pain when I came to see you. But I could still walk. You looked me in the eye and said " I can fix that " Well, you fixed it alright. !! read more

Dr. Vora is wonderful surgeon. Compassionate, caring and an unmatched expert in foot and ankle repair. Dr. Vora did a complete foot reconstruction five years ago and I am still pain free. He was kind, explained thoroughly all that would be done during the reconstruction, and took time at every follow appointment to answer questions and explain next steps. I am very fortunate to have found Dr. Vora and will continue to refer him to anyone requiring foot or ankle surgery. read more

He's amazing. I saw 3 doctors before him and none of them took the time to listen to me. Dr. Vora sat and listened to my concerns and recommended surgery. He gave me several options on what I wanted to do with treatment. He was very kind and understanding. Definitely recommend him. read more

Dr. Vora is not only an amazingly skilled surgeon but also a compassionate, genuinely caring person and a humble man. I had a traumatic injury and completely ruptured my Achilles tendon. I was seen in the local ER and they could not 100% diagnose the the problem so they sent me immediately over to Dr. Vora's office. The staff and Dr. Vora were excellent about seeing me as soon as I arrived as I was in terrible pain. Dr. Vora diagnosed the injury with a physical exam but yet sent me for an MRI to confirm his diagnosis which was spot on. I was very emotional and Dr. Vora took a lot of time with me explaining my options and his professional recommendations. He never seemed rushed and he made me feel like I was his only patient. He is very compassionate. I had tendon surgery and the results are amazing! I had very little pain after the surgery and my recovery has been 3X faster than I expected. Dr. Vora and his staff were very responsive to all of my calls and emails in the post op period, even making time in his schedule to bring me in to the office immediately because I was nervous about my incision. I'm a registered nurse so I tend to scrutinize every detail. The incision was fine and has healed very well. I appreciated him taking the time from his schedule to reassure me that all was normal. I cannot say enough good things about this amazing orthopedic surgeon and his staff!! I had the best experience that I could have imagined and I am forever grateful for the excellent care! read more

Love Dr. Vora. He is patient, easy going, informative and and amazing surgeon.

Dr. Vora is a spectacular doctor who wants to do what is right by the patient, not the practice. I had two previous ankle surgeries at RUSH, however, the damage of my ankle was so much worse that RUSH's two operations would've never worked because I needed an entire ankle allograft. Before my surgery with Vora I couldn't even walk a mile without my ankle swelling like a balloon, which was not ideal being an elite 20-year-old athlete; but now, a year later, I am able to do any activity without any pain what-so-ever. It's such a night and day difference. Lastly, Vora cares so much about the patient at hand and uses surgery as a last resort, plus he's willing to go to bat for you with the insurance company. He knows you and remembers you and isn't trying to get you in and out of the door. read more

Dr Vora is funny and widely experienced, especially with RA patients, and an absolutely first rate surgeon! I had an ankle fusion because of deterioration of the joint, and the results are fantastic! It is a delight to be under his care. read more

Dr. Vora came highly recommended, and he did not disappoint. From the first appointment, he explained what was going on with my feet- what should be done, and what was incorrectly done the first time. In January I went through my first Lipidus Fusion and hallux correction, followed by the 2nd one in April. Dr. Vora made sure I understood what to expect, and answered each question I had. His team was available and answered each of my concerns and questions (even on a weekend!). I'm so grateful for Dr. Vora and his team- they truly helped me through one of the scariest and hardest 6 months of my life. As a mother of three young children, mobility is very important to me- and they got me "back on my feet" quickly!! Thank you so much, Dr. Vora!!! :) :) :) read more

Dr V rocks. No better surgeon around for your ankle. 3 surgeries with him, always answers questions, emails, and calls back directly with concerns. I have seen a lot of doctors since I have a birth defect to my foot and have never seen anyone better. Highly recommend. And obviously Bobby M is a lunatic. Probably just upset Dr V wouldn't take care of him. read more

Excellent doctor. I saw him because my Achilles was in pain. He immediately diagnosed the issue as a result of an antibiotic prescribed by another doctor.
