Beware. Total scam. I booked parking with another company on spot hero. Could NOT find the parking spot. Accidentally went to ABM parking in Prudential building. Told the operator I'm in line accidentally and there are cars behind me and can't move. She opened the gate. I immediately go to the exit within 2 minutes. I ring the call button. The lady in a call center tells me I need a ticket. I tell her I don't have a ticket. She tells me you have to pay the $38 lost ticket fee. I said no because I don't have a ticket. She said I tail gated and came in with another driver. I said check your camera. I kept ringing buzzer. She would pick up again. I go to the lobby where there are 3 of us in the same situation accidentally going into the wrong garage. I paid $38 and got a ticket. I got to leave and was going to dispute charges with American Express. I put the ticket in. It doesn't work after I pay $38. I ring buzzer at stahl 1 she doesn't answer. I go to second lane and she doesn't answer. I go up to the lobby and try the call button there. I paid for ANOTHER $38 ticket to leave it also DOESN'T work and says no data found. I call prudential security at 3:35 PM on Saturday March 19th and explain the Situation and they actually laughed in the speaker and said the couldn't help me. It's currently 9pm on Saturday March 19th and my car is still stuck in garage. I called the Chicago police and they told me I would have to talk to ABM parking or Prudential management on MONDAY. I'm FURIOUS. I left 15 voicemails for the district manager Leo and he never called back. I can't believe this is happening to me. I am supposed to be in MIlwaukee tomorrow at 8am and I can't leave the garage. read more

The original Prudential building was finished in 1955 and its sober design along Randolph Street makes this tower an appropriate northern boundary for Millennium Park. It is connected to the newer Two Prudential Plaza. Designed by the architecture firm Loebl Schlossman & Hackl, Two Pru is very similar in design to Helmut Jahn's One Liberty Place in Philadelphia. I've worked in this building for over a year now, and it has far exceeded expectations! It is always immaculately clean and well-decorated -- especially for the holiday season, but they even change out the flower arrangements throughout the interior of the building every few weeks throughout the year. The building staff are exceptionally friendly, and there is 24/7 security via key cards and round-the-clock security staff. The large fitness center and amenities are phenomenal with state-of-the-art equipment and great locker rooms with secure locks. The outdoor landscaped patio on the 11th floor is GORGEOUS and they even have summer happy hours with a bar and food, along with bags/cornhole tournaments with awesome monetary prizes. I'm not one for contests myself, but the ambiance and atmosphere alone are wonderful and the views (of the lake and city) are spectacular!! read more

As far as office buildings go, it's one of the nicer ones in Chicago. There are a lot of amenities in the building an in the immediate area. There are a few restaurants and shops in the lobby, and without even going above ground and outside you can walk halfway across downtown (all the way to City Hall if it weren't for some construction right now), and going the other direction you can walk to the AON center's food places, Lakeshore Athletic Club, and BlueCross' without leaving the building. The management is mostly good to deal with, though sometimes things very bureaucratic. I've had instances where they've ignored requests from me for weeks, though, which to me is unacceptable. A few weeks ago we had to pay a union electrician for 6 hours of labor so he could literally unlock a building phone room door for us after hours and leave. The main electrician Scott is great. His boss once left me a voice mail screaming and cussing me out because I complained to the building management that he wasn't making any progress on a project we had going with him (I digitally recorded it to keep..). The new parking manager was mean at first but now I think he's warmed up. The building has changed a little bit since Bentley Forbes took it over 3 or so years ago. They've made a lot of various improvements... Elevator buttons are now gold tone instead of stainless steel? Not sure why but they are... Classical music in the lobby.. Art installations in the lobby. They revamped every elevator. Prudential Plaza itself is made up of two buildings, "Pru 1" (the old building" and "Pru 2" (the new tower) and have a shared lobby... The old Pru 1 lobby is a vast empty space that never really seemed to be well utilized... Now they at least have chairs and art installations in that lobby... The lobby they actually use has not a single chair for visitors to wait. I'm sure somehow that's for security reasons(?) They have done a better job of attracting amenities.. there are now 5 places to go for lunch right in the building, and you can walk 5 minutes in the pedway and be connected with 30 or 40 places without even stepping foot outdoors. Truly one of the best perks of the building is the interconnected pedway system that (when Block37 isn't under construction) can take you all the way to city hall or the Thompson Center without setting foot outside. The plaza is nice but annoying in the summer time in that smokers kind of invade it and you can't actually enjoy it without having to smell someone's cigarette smoke anywhere you go. The building has taken some steps to alleviate this though. Starting in the summer time they have a farmer's market in the plaza every Tuesday. The plaza is always extremely well gardened, they must spend a fortune completely changing out the plants in the gardens with every season change. read more

This is a really nice corporate building in terms of both location and the building itself. I work at 2 Pru which is newer than 1 Pru though we all share the same lobby and security staff. The security staff are always friendly and greeting everyone with a smile and wishing people good morning or goodnight who goes in and out of the secured area leading to the elevators. Contemporary jazz music is played in the lobby. I never have to wait long for the elevators as well. The entire floor of the office gets a 360 degree view of the city which is nice on a clear day (great to watch the Chicago air show!). On a foggy day, we see nothing but literally just fog around us. Come lunchtime, you will go crazy with the myriad of lunch options.There are 5-6 dining options inside the Prudential Plaza itself and the building is also accessible to a million of very nearby lunch options thanks to the pedway. There are two different pedway entrances that connect to the Prudential Plaza, depending on which direction you want to go to. The pedway entrance near Caffe Rom and Panda Express in the Prudential Plaza will lead you to the Aon Center where more dining options await. The other pedway entrance where Market Creations is (also in Prudential Plaza) will bring you right to the Metra South Shore station. Keep walking and it will bring you to Macy'S, Block 37, and all the way to City Hall. Here's a tip: There's another pedway that is not connected to Prudential Plaza but just cross the street on Lake and enter the building next door (225 N. Michigan), and there are a whole lot more of lunch options there. Fantastic. There is also a nice courtyard outside where people can bring their lunch to eat on a nice day. read more

Growing up, my dad worked on the 67th floor of this building and every 4th of July, we'd watch the fireworks from here. Every time my dad visits me now in Chicago -he likes to point out his old office building and say "There's the prettiest building in the Chicago skyline." read more

Prudential is a very modern and sleek building for global affairs. The conference rooms are predominantly square-sized, and without any seating elevation. Can be a bit difficult to gage the stage from the back, given the low platform of stage, but the sound is clear nonetheless. Staff is well organized and prompt to attention. Glad it is the new home to CC. read more

i work in 2 Pru, and must comment that the elevators are the best in any building I've worked in the city. There is always a lift waiting on the ground floor, and the wait to go down is never more than 5 seconds. It's actually pretty amazing. The walk to the El is less than 10 minutes. Convenience store downstairs for snacks, lottery etc. Friendly security team. Will be nice in the summer to have the park so close. read more
