We found this gem a few days ago and this will now be our local go to spot for ice cream. While we love others, PRP ice cream corner offers quick , friendly service AND they offer seating which is all covered. The items we ordered were a kids ice cream cup and a hot fudge cake. Both items came out within minutes of ordering. Since this was our first visit, the young lady who helped us was very kind and answered any questions we had! I highly suggest visiting this place if you're in the south end this summer! read more

The worst staff, rude as hell. The ice cream was fine, but not exceptional. Ambiance... is non-existent since it's outdoors one seating. The biggest problem was ordering and staff. It just isn't anywhere I would return. There are FAR better ice cream shops in Louisville. Try a different place! read more

My youngest daughter and I stopped in for some ice cream because she wanted some and we were leaving work so I told her we could. I've been wanting to try PRP ice cream for many years now myself and my ice cream fan really I will eat it occasionally but not enough to get a whole large ice cream or anything. But my wife and daughters love ice cream so we stopped in here and I got a small Oreo flurry for my youngest daughter. She enjoyed it very much I took of course the dad tax bites I took probably three bites of it and I enjoyed it also and it was really good. So good Nice community ran ice cream shop. Very convenient place. Close to home. I love giving back to locally owned places. They have many different kinds of ice creams along with bbq sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos etc. You order at one window and then get in another line to pick up your order. Smooth process. They have signs up to socially distance. Some people walked up to the counter with no mask on. Disappointing but I guess you can't force people. You have enough space to socially distance. So it's not a huge problem. This time, I ordered a hot dog and a chili cheese hot dog with onions. The people I got them for devoured them. My son was shocked that he was already done with his. He thought that his was better than any other hot dog he has ever had. My dad he got the chili cheese hot dog. He never usually will say anything is good but he devoured his and then actually said that it was good. I think they both wanted another one. I'm sure my son will be craving a hot dog from there very soon. read more

We usually go to Dairy Kastle but we were out in the south end and looked for something a bit closer. The good news is that the prices are much more reasonable. For example it was only $7.10 for 2 medium chocolate peanut butter shakes as opposed to $ 10.70 for the same at Dairy Kastle. The truth is that Dairy Kastle has a better chocolate peanut butter shake but you will pay more for it. Service was very good and the price was right but the peanut butter taste for overpowering two thirds of the way down and was so thick that it was hard to sip. Perhaps next time we will get something else as they seem to have a wide variety of flavors, etc. And once again TripAdvisor doesn't list this business on their website. read more

For ice cream in the Southend of Louisville, a true Southender is going to go to one of two places - Valley Dairy Freeze on Valley Station Road, or PRP's Ice Cream Corner on Greenwood Road. That's just the way it is. PRP's Ice Cream Corner is a great summertime destination for when you're hot and just want a cold ice cream, banana split, or a milkshake. The variety of flavors are plenteous, and the prices are reasonable. They have a really nice seating area, aptly named the "Banana Split Pit." It has a roof over it, so you can eat your ice cream when it is raining. Even though it is right next to a busy road, it *feels* safer than Valley Dairy Freeze, if you want to bring your kids and you're worried about them getting out in the road. I love the location of PRP's Ice Cream Corner. It's not hard to find, it's easy to get to, and it's easy to get in and out of. My only complaint (if you could even call it that) is that the parking lot is small, and it can fill up quickly, and become a small nuisance. But that's honestly just because PRP's Ice Cream Corner is really good, and people want to eat here. It's not worth driving across town to visit, but it is a solid 4 stars. read more

9/21/20 we've been going regularly here for 2 weeks. we just found out about it. we loved it!!! for that period of time, all of the employees were masked. today, i believe that it was the owner who was both taking orders & handing out food, ice cream & drinks. he was not masked, nor was one of the other employees, inside. the masked owner besides taking my money, later handed me my ice cream. at that time, i told him that i was concerned about him not wearing a mask. he then told me that the health dept told him, if the employees aren't withing 6' of the customers, then it's ok not to wear them. when he hands out the food, drinks, & ice cream, he's about 2.5' from the customers. so he breathed on our ice cream, & exchanged money in about a 2.5' span. furthermore, i called the health dept who told me that he lied about his mask guidelines. read more

Very disappointed we went tonight and no one had on masks, the girl held an ice cream cone infront of her face way too close. They had no gloves on, a girl had one glove on picked up a hot fudge cake with her other hand. All of their masks were hanging next to each other exposed openly inside of the window. When I asked them why they didn't have masks on the girl said we only have to wear them if we work the window, as she's working the window with no mask on.‍‍The ice cream was melted and not worth the $15 we paid not to mention we got home and we're missing a cup.
