Roaches of all shapes and sizes. Come one, come all.

ROACHES GALORE. Hornet heaven. I've seen the most diverse collection of bugs here than the Smithsonian in DC. Mold on the outside doors (front doors of units). Expired inspection certificates on elevators. Half of the lighting in the hallways don't work so it looks like Halloween all year round. This building has serious issues and it seems like they are dragging their feet by working on smaller issues or ignoring problems. Everyone who I've spoken to who has lived here when the place was managed by Greystar (infamous for being borderline slumlords) has said that they had NO PROBLEMS but now, forget about it. I realized I made a mistake by moving in within 24 hours when the biggest roach I've seen in my life hitched a ride in my apartment, after being assured during my tour that pests weren't a problem. Speaking of the tour, we drove 8 hours from DC to take a tour of this dump, our desired unit wasn't ready yet so we were showed a model, which isn't a problem but we were only showed the amenities attached to the leasing office, then were handed a map to go explore the grounds ourselves. Thought that was strange, should have seen the red flag. After signing the lease we were then given an apartment that was busted up (broken doors, non working features, flooding toilet, broken cabinet shelves, etc) I've seen a leasing agent yell at a resident from their balcony on an upper level like they were yelling at a child...about a puppy breaking free from their leash. WOW. There's a valet trash service here that residents get penalized (notice of a fee on their door) for not bringing the receptacle in by a certain time, but it doesn't apply to leasing agents. I've seen them leave their trash can out multiple times and not a letter in sight. They also put a lock on the recycling area, as a response to the overflowing use of the area. If you see the lock, whatever you have goes in the trash compactor, recyclable or not. There are rules about guest visiting your apartment (max length: 14 days) yet again, guest have stayed for 4 weeks. Really nice guest but just the same, how are they above the rules they enforce? How leasing handled COVID by telling people to move out if they couldn't afford their rent due to loss of work...and then still have to pay their rent?! That's a whole thing in itself. Had to reach out to upper management to find any type of flexibility. Never had been a delinquent tenant in my life, even paid rent months in advance. The TURNOVER here is crazy. Every week someone is moving in or out. It's not even that many units. I've seen people move in after me and leave before me, and so far none are active duty military. This would be zero stars if it wasn't for the hard working maintenance crew that bust their buns to keep this place from falling completely to the ground (they should get 5 stars on their own). I'm a current resident with 5 months left. Pray for me.

Love the Jasper. I lived here for 3 years and was always grateful. It's "living lavish," no doubt…read more The grounds are meticulously manicured, and the star deck and amenities are spotless. You will not find a single leaf on the ground. Here's the most important benefit, to me: you cannot hear your neighbors. I'd say that once a month, I'd hear my neighbors drop something, but that's about it. It's VERY quiet. No footsteps, snoring, conversation eavesdropping, or music can be heard (unless your neighbor is having a party of course, but this doesn't happen at the Jasper.) The building is hurricane proof and from what I'm guessing, would be the last thing standing in the event of a nuclear blast - it's top notch. Tenants are comprised of the mid to older age range, with some graduate students sprinkled in. No ragers, no pre games, no screaming. Everyone is nice, and every pet is nice. There are shops/restaurants underneath that are 10/10 and convenient. There are monthly resident events that are well worth the time to attend (sunset paddle boarding, sunset ferry rides, weekly Wednesday happy hours, wreath making, candle making, food trucks, all FREE). The internet is lightning fast. The location can't be beat - with Colonial lake across the street, and the historic district a 1 minute walk away... makes me want to move back! Rent for my 1 bedroom was $3600 monthly. It's steep, but if you spend 95% of your time somewhere, it's worth the money. There is no better apartment in all of Charleston, and I've seen them all! 5/5 10/10 - no complaints.

The community atmosphere here is one of my favorite parts. There's always something going on, and it's a great way to meet people and actually feel connected to where you live. The amenities are a huge bonus--clean gym, study spaces, and the clubhouse is perfect for hanging out or getting work done. My apartment has been comfortable and well-maintained, and any maintenance requests I've had were handled quickly and professionally. If you're looking for a place that's more than just an apartment--somewhere with a community feel, great staff, and awesome amenities--Summit Place is definitely worth checking out. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else!

The apartments itself are brand new so nothing to mention there. All hardwood floors and brand new appliances. All the landscaping is very well kept and look pretty at all time. Also, if you have an issue with your apartment, maintenance will show up pretty soon after your request. But, what makes this place great, is the leasing office itself. All the people there are amazing and always friendly. Every time I walk in you gets greeted by your first name which I think is amazing that they remember that. Kristina was my leasing agent and she is great. She helped me out with a lot of issues that weren't easy.

After reading other reviews I can say I have never experienced problems with "unresponsive" behavior. Actually, every person in the office made you feel welcome and cared for. I saw many times office staff walking the buildings property making sure all was good. Also, L&C would arrange holiday parties with food and drink for all the tenants... Not to mention all the yummy food trucks they would arrange to come visit with Bridgeside supplied Beverages! I Miss it there, even though we have found a nice home it's just missing that sense of community. I never thought or knew living in a apartment could be so nice. Finally, Building Maintenance is super fast. I had a GFI outlet not working, reported it and 10 minutes later a knock on the door and outlet repaired.
