Very large selection of shoes, sneakers, boots, slippers, you name it ...this footwear store…read moreCarrie's it, if not all...most of it! Lots of space to shop around and the prices are unbeatable. Unless you ask specifically for assistance or for help finding what you are looking for the staff stays busy organizing displays and keeping the store looking tidy. They let you look around and shop in peace, no pushy sales techniques like when you go to the Big Brand Name Mall Stores. If you need help, there is someone always around to ask for it and they gladly assist if needed and asked. They have a great rewards/ loyalty program. They take unused/unworn items purchased at any of their store for a 30 day return with receipt for full refund. I've purchased footwear from this specific location on multiple occasions and I like how I can go in, look around and shop without being bothered or asked 10 times if I need help finding anything. Places like that make me want to leave instead of stay to look around more. The other reviewer of this store on Yelp! sounds like they needed or was looking for special attention while shopping. If you need help, just ask. Keep the low prices without the aggressive approach / pushy techniques and you'll have me as a customer for years to come!

I went to the Shoe Dept Eñcore store in the Laurel Mall in Hazleton PA on Sunday April 30th. There…read morewere 2 other customers in the store besides me. I was in store about 30 minutes, comparing, looking for sizes etc. On my way out hi noticed 5 young girls at the counter chatting amongst themselves, paying no attention to the customers whatsoever. I wasn't greeted, smiled at, nothing. On my way out I asked to speak to a manager. The one young girl came to me as I asked her to step away from checkout desk for privacy. I asked her, why is it that there are 2 customers in the store, myself for about 30 minutes and I was never approached to ask if I needed assistance finding anything etc? She looked at me with no apologies and asked if I need help now, very curtly. I said no, I made my purchase but it would've been nice to have to have some help, even offered. I said maybe if the 5 girls standing around chatting had given assistance, they may have more customers. She just looked at me as I can tell she didn't care in the least and I left. Arriving home I noticed a number on my receipt for any comments etc. I called the number, got a very nice older woman who I explained everything to and expressed my dissapointment. She agreed and said customer service should be #1 and that was unacceptable. She said she would forward an email to the district manager and I would be getting a call. She apologized and asked that I please continue to shop with the Shoe Dept in the future. I received a phone call the next day by the District manager regarding the email she received from corporate office whom I talked to. He was extremely rude, curt, talked over me and basically sounded like I was wasting his time. He said they are a self serve store, those girls are not paid to assist customers, they are paid 7.25 an hour and their duties was to keep store in order not to assist customers. He went on to say it was the decision of the company to go with the lower prices vs customer service. I told him that that was the worst response I've ever heard to explain to a customer. I stated without customers he would not have a job etc. I voiced my disgust, stated I would rather pay a few extra dollars than to deal with him or his company. He said fine and hung up. I was livid at this point. I worked in Customer Service for 35 years and I have been trained in Customer service by the best fortune 500 companies out there. I was taught customer service was #1 priority for any successful company. I called the number back that I first called on the receipt and got the first very nice lady who agreed, without customers there is no success. I told her how rude this District manager was and the excuse he gave me and she was appalled. She apologized profusely and is going over this guy's head and is forwarding an email to the top about his rudeness and explanation on how the company chose prices over customers etc. I'm waiting to hear from the higher manager as I stated, I will not speak to this so called District manager again. Next time you need footwear, go somewhere where they care about their customers, not just your money. Thank you Store#568

To say the least, I am shocked that no one has reviewed Gino's before. As they are an independent…read moreshoe store away from the main business areas of the Wyoming Valley, I would have figured someone would have something to say. However, this does mean I get to go first. When I was a kid, well over 30 years ago, my mom and dad used to take me to Gino's to get shoes. Back then, they were just one of a number of shoe stores in the Back Mountain. Today they are the last, staying around with good quality and great customer service. First, a warning. Gino's specializes in kids' shoes and athletic shoes. They do have some men's and women's shoes, but not the selection you would find at a department store. But in the types of shoes they specialize, I have not seen better quality, and the selection rivals many children's shoe stores. On our last trip there, I was impressed by the sheer variety of toddler and kid's Crocs they sold. What is even more impressive about Gino's though, it the customer service. Even though the store was busy when we arrived, we were helped relatively quickly. My wife and I really wanted to get Crocs for our little boy, but the pair we wanted was too big in his size and too small in the next one down. The salesman actually took the time to show us why that particular style was cut different and pointed out the others that were not a standard cut either. He must have known how everyone of them was cut, because he suggest one color, that fit perfectly. How many stores still have sales staff that know the product that well? Finally, Gino's remembers its customers. As we were checking out, I said hello to the owner. After not seeing me around the community for over 20 years, he still remember who I was, and we had a really nice conversation. Does it get any better?
