i live out of state but i received a td personal check that was a td check and from that branch…read more when i went to cash it i was told there was a $10.00 charge because i don't have an account. i don't understand if it's you're check, you're branch, and you would be able to tell if there's the money in the account, no risk to the bank then why should i loose $10.00 for no reason other than you screwing a non customer. so i informed the person that gave me the check and they are pissed and will be closing their account. called customer service and was told that i should go back to the bank and talk to the manager, why should i be inconvenienced to waste my time and there is no guarantee they would waive the fee?????

After an additional half hour, I'm told they have to send it to legal because the probate form is from another state (Florida). The incompetency is staggering. The manager knew I was upset and yet she never came to talk with me. Now I'm told I need to wait 2-4 buisness days for funds to be released. I asked what exactly was the issue; I was told they have to verify form is authentic. I asked why they couldnt just call the number for probabte court and give them the case number. "The branch" can't do that. It is hard enough losing a loved one; to have to jump through additional hoops is ridiculous. Stay away from PNC they certainly don't give a darn about their customers.

The same charges I tried to cancel both in person at the bank, and via the recommended Internet cancellation form.
