The Electrify America (150 kWh) charging station, located at this particular Bank of America in…read moreRedlands is one of the few fast charging spots for non-Tesla EVs in the area. Consequently, I find myself spending a lot of time here, waiting anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes for my car to charge. And another 30 to 45 minutes waiting for other cars in front of me in line.l to charge. That's a lot of time to be sitting around waiting for a piece of expensive machinery to charge. What do you do during this time? Sit in your car for over an hour, sometimes more? It's a no bueno situation. Like everyone else, I need a place to go to the bathroom. However, since EV owners don't get convenience stores or bathrooms at charging stations, I have to search for facilities in nearby businesses. Yesterday, I had a hell of a time finding a bathroom. All the businesses around this location told me, "Sorry, if you're not a customer, you can't use the bathroom." I ended up walking quite a distance to an office building where a security guard finally let me use their bathroom. It felt uncomfortable AF. It's appalling that EV owners get no conveniences or bathrooms of any kind. Even Bank of America told me they don't have a bathroom I could use. Maybe if I were depositing $100,000 into a bank account, they would let me, right? How stupid all of this is. Finally, I figured out that there is a trendy, cute little coffee place called Landmark Coffee that will allow you to use their restroom. So, there you have it!
