Took my 91 year old mother to the Newport Highway urgent care. She is an established patient with…read moreMulticare, so I know they can see her records. Mom was put on a 10 day course of antibiotics by her multicare primary care for a cyst. On Saturday, she developed a urinary tract infection. Took her to urgent care where she was given a 3 day course of another antibiotic with instructions to stay on the original antibiotic. On Tuesday, received a call that they needed to change the antibiotic for the UTI, because the one they gave her wouldn't kill the cause of the UTI. OKay. No problem. So now mom has been on 3 different antibiotics within 7 days. Friday night, mom developed a yeast infection. Called the urgent care Saturday morning to ask for a med for this because she was very uncomfortable. They called in a TOPICAL cream (nystatin) for this and told me to buy OTC monistat. Topical nystatin is not going to cure a vaginal yeast infection. Mom is 91 years old and has fairly severe scoliosis, so suggesting she would be able to use monistat insertables is beyond laughable. The other option was to bring her in for an appointment. Why? So they can make more money? Her primary care Dr had said to call if she developed a yeast infection from the antibiotics, but since it is Saturday, that is not an option. So my 91 year old mother gets to suffer another day and half before we can contact her primary care for an oral medicine!

I made a same day appointment one morning and was checked in immediately after I arrived. A staff member was waiting to take me back to a room before I could finish putting my debit card back into my wallet after paying my copay. I was in and out within 10 minutes and was able to fill my prescription next door at Rite Aid within 20 minutes after finishing my appointment. I've been to several urgent cares in the area for myself or my children and this was by far the best. I'm so happy I gave it a try and I will definitely be utilizing this location in the future when we need urgent medical care. Highly recommend!

The sidewalk in front of all but the west four (B-R, Scotts, Joanns, and PetCo) is filthy, including Providence, with emptied ashtrays, spilled drinks, vomit and who knows what else. Providence is a health facility - how can you keep your facade in such a state? Why can't you see that the walk in front of your business is swept and cleaned every day? It obviously CAN be done, for it's rare to see such filth in any other strip mall in town. If you will clean, and keep clean, your own part of the sidewalk, perhaps the rest of them might be encouraged or shamed to do the same?

First, I scheduled an appointment for my daughter (6) who has had a chronic cough to insure she is seen first and we received a text message reminder of the appointment. Next, after receiving the appointment reminder above and still needing appointments for the rest of our family I called the office to schedule a second intake appointment for me and my other daughter (they will only do two intake appointment per family at a time)...during this phone conversation I was not only told that they were maxed out for patients with our insurance and refused us service... they also proceeded to cancel the appointment for my 6 year old... Being confused by this I asked what would had happened if I showed up for the appointment that had previously been scheduled and confirmed and I was told they would have just turned us away the day of the appointment. I found the staff to be very dry, rude, and uncaring about a situation they had caused...their advice was to call my insurance company...they gave no recommendations for other practices or ways to get help for my daughter who needs to see a dr sooner vs later...and now we have to start the process over...which can take up to a month The next day my husband went back to the office to speak to someone and clarify what happened...they had closed early based on hours posted on the internet...Their website says 5:00, their Google info also says 5:00, (it was 4:45)...my husband also noted the hours were not posted on the door. Furthermore, I called the office twice before this happened, and they never returned either call and she is still currently listed on our insurance website as accepting new patients.

I will say the wait is long upon occasion, but that makes sense given the fact it's urgent care - that's fairly typical everywhere. The staff is consistently friendly; I know they're always doing their best to help patients in an efficient & thorough way. Having kindness & patience towards them goes a long way, & goodness knows they deserve it. They are very thorough with any testing, x-rays & the like. I always find they take time to answer any questions, & I appreciate they make sure not only to address my concerns but also make sure I understand how to go forward & what is going on. I truly appreciate all the medical staff here, they have really had my back time and time again.

Spent an hour with NP Freed, very comfortable visit, never felt pressured for time or information, just got to know me, what I needed, where I was coming from. Great folks! Now I'm sold. I would have no hesitation in recommending DPC to others. Glad to be a member!

Although I have insurance, the fear of going to an urgent care, waiting for hours, and then being billed for full price because I have not met the deductible was causing more grief than my illness. My husband (Jonathan) found Direct Medical Care. I was suspicious because it seemed too easy. I made a profile online, and requested an appointment. The office actually saw my profile and knew who I was when I called....and... they fit me in that day, even though their schedule was full. I was seen by Matt (NP), and he was thorough, direct, and personable. I never write reviews, but I was so impressed that medicine was actually geared towards, me, the patient, and my comfort...not satisfying the limiting insurance rules, or waiting 8 hours in urgent care for something that should take 1 hour, at most. Yay! I am a fan!
