When 4-inch Eco pots arrive, they're not the prettiest. But if you've got a little patience and you're willing to give it a week or two, you'll have some terrific blooming plants that'll be the envy of the neighborhood. I just wish I had access to all PW plants - my zone 10b area in So Cal is seriously lacking in PW options. Neither the orange nor the blue big box stores have much of an offering. You get what you get, and only if you're lucky. I've had tremendous success with all PW Supertunias, Vistas and mini vistas. Most of the time they perform like a perennial and I can get 2-3 seasons from each plant. Lemon Coral Sedum performs its little head off and spreads in the flower bed. I can't remember the last time I had to purchase a plant, it just keeps going season after season. Sure, I'd love to shop, select, and pick up my own plants...maybe one day! I ordered 7 plants and they all arrived damaged and with no leaves! An $85.00 order! I never order from them again!

I have ordered the firecracker plants from them every year for 3 years. This year they arrived mostly dried up and barely alive. They look horrible. I reached out to Melissa in customer service and she told me to wait about a week and that many times the plants revive and it looks like it's just cosmetic damage. 10 days have gone by, she asked for a photo again and I sent it. The reply was well. I'm glad they're looking better. That is wrong. The plants still look horribly dead and three of them were supposed to be birthday gifts. read more

My review mostly has to do with their customer service. I have bought Proven Winners products at my local nurseries and have been very pleased with their products. So, in this year of the pandemic, I turned to them online to purchase hundreds of dollars worth of plants because I could see that we were going to be in lockdown and gardening was one of the few pleasures I was going to have. The first order arrived and the packaging was great but some of the flowers were puny. They were begonias that I ordered for my window boxes and I have never had a problem with begonias so I assumed the puny ones would make it, but they didn't. After 2 or 3 weeks they died. I'm convinced it was because they were unhealthy to begin with. I was communicating with customer service about another matter when I decided to ask if there was a possibility they could replace the 2 dead begonias. I was told to send pictures, which I did. Then I was told that no, they would not replace them! No reason given! WTH, I thought, it was just a couple of begonias and I had 2 more orders coming. It would have been trivial for them to stick a couple of replacement flowers in one of my upcoming orders. I know that that's what I would have done and I know that is what my local nurseries would have done. Proven Winners had a chance to go the extra mile and exhibit excellent customer service but they chose not to. Instead they showed mediocre service. I will probably still buy their plants locally from my local nurseries who DO have excellent customer service, but I will not be in a rush to order directly from Proven Winners and I will tell other people to be very careful when ordering. This is a picture of the big gap in my window box where the puny plants did not survive. Some of the new plants that just arrived aren't looking great either. UPDATE: I decided to see if there were other reviews of Proven Winners. Wow! Not one good review! It's obviously that this company doesn't care what people think. Proven Winners - Gaping hole that should have healthy begonia plants in it. - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - DeKalb, Illinois

I decided to make a purchase online directly from Proven Winners for plants that I really wanted but wasn't able to easily find locally. It took me weeks to finally place the order because it was fairly expensive with shipping coming in at nearly 25% of the order cost. I've purchased plants online from several stores and individual sellers on Etsy and have always had the plants arrive in good condition, packed snugly, and with shrinkwrap over the soil and pot to keep the soil (and plant) securely in the pot during transport. Proven Winners ships plants in boxes that are far too tall for the plants contained within, and the plants are not always wrapped to keep the soil and container in place during transit. The results are about as good as you can imagine. I have attached pictures of my order from Proven Winners as it was received on my doorstep last week. Upon notifying Proven Winners and stating I wanted the plants re-shipped ASAP and packed appropriately, they have declined stating they reviewed the photos and these plants are in 100% acceptable condition as received. If you believe that is true and that these plants are worth paying full price for + 25% shipping, Proven Winners is the right place to shop. Maybe I'm the oddball, but I would never buy these if I saw them in a store, nevertheless pay 15-20 dollars each for them. I'm so disheartened this is how Proven Winners treats their customers. I had several other plants I wanted to order from them in the spring but this will be my first and last order (not to mention my last purchase of their products in retail stores). read more

They are in such a condition, that I might have to repot each one and nurse them along before they will be strong enough to go into the garden. I watch Youtube channel, Garden Answer, they are sponsored by Proven Winners. Her unboxing are beautiful condition plants. Mine were nothing like that. I have been an avid and skilled gardener for 30+ years. I ordered my plants from Proven Winners this year for convenience and ease of searching all of the local garden centers to build my planters. I ordered early to ensure my shipment arrived in time for spring planting. After paying exorbitant shipping my plants arrived in pathetic condition and were not thriving. I wrote to PW's and they recommended trimming back the dead growth, replanting and fertilizing which I did. After a week the plants were still failing and they asked for more pictures. They refunded 4 of the 8 plants I purchased because they wanted pictures of each dead plant. Their 'horticulturist' stated my soil was old. This company spends a tremendous amount on advertising quality, beautiful specimens but what is actually received is decaying, dying plants. What a huge waste of money and time. I went to the local garden center and purchased high quality, thriving plants at $8.00 a piece. What a total disappointment. There is no Winner here. read more

What everyone is saying is true. I wish i had read these comments before i made a purchase. The flowers they show on their site are no way reflective of the real color, condition, and size of the flowers you get. They sent me flowers that were half dead and the wrong colors. I tried to call to get a refund and they were very shady. One person named Cindy (or Sandy) told me she was the manager in customer service, i asked if she would process the refund since they sent me flowers they sent were not what was shown on the website. She told me she other things to do and was busy and would get back to me. I sent them pictures of the flowers and they tried to explain the huge discrepancy by making excuses. I pre-ordered 2 peach quince plants through PW online site, the plants received after 2 months but the plants too tiny is size (less than 4 inches) and weak. a branch from a plant already broken during shipping too. I paid $22.49 + shipping per plant. Meanwhile I bought PW 2 gallon fully grown quince bush with full of flowers (22 inch ht) for $12.49. I brought this to the attention to the customer care of PW, with photos of plants and receipts but they even not ready to replace the damaged plant or try to justify the high price they are selling. Their advertisement is very colorful but customer service is very bad. I never order anything directly from PW online. read more

The first thing to realize is that 'Proven Winners' is just a name and not, in any way, an indication that this company will stand behind it's products. Having purchased 3 PW perennial daisy type plants from Lowes, I have had nothing but trouble with this variety. I have been in horticulture professionally my whole working life and don't usually need to despair over a plant 3 weeks into ownership. I spoke with the customer service rep. at PW and was told they don't handle issues regarding their plants purchased at retail stores(where else would you buy them?). If I could leave zero stars I would. One of the worst companies to deal with. My mom ordered twice from there, each time a pellet of soil costing about $460. It was not a small order and you would think customer service, especially for large orders, would be a least decent. Shipping was a nightmare. They canceled and rescheduled numerous times. My mother had to take off work due to their scheduling mess-ups. My mom decided to give Proven Winners another chance and ordered another several ton pellet of soil. This time it was worse. Shipping was extremely delayed and when they did deliver, the driver refused to bring it into our driveway, claiming it was too long and was going drop off several tons worth of bags of soil in the street. My mother had to pay the driver on the side to drop it off inside our gate, not even near our house. My 65 year old mother had to move each bag of soil herself down the driveway. The shipping charge is an additional $400 on top of the $460 order and they couldn't even deliver it to my mother's door! Sandy Wentworth, who my mother dealt with both times, is extremely rude and unapologetic for all the inconveniences. There was no tax charged on the product but she insisted on charging my mother tax on the shipping cost. Sandy Wentworth is the reason my mother will never be ordering from there again. read more

I have been ordering plants online since the internet was invented, from dozens of companies, and their plant quality is the worst. It's not even just a packaging problem, the plant was pitiful and almost leafless to begin with. I emailed them with a photo, but don't expect much. Stay away from them! Yes. Like all the other reviewers. This was my first order from Proven winners. and it was proven loser. I paid in average $25 each for seven plants plus shipping. One of the plants I received basically had no roots It was a dead plant. I emailed and called the shop trying to get a replacement. No response so far. I had bought honeysuckle plant years ago. every year it would bloom but the blooms weren't fragrant. Every year I would think that this year I will have fragrant blooms but never did. Over the years I had forgotten where I had purchased this from. When I uprooted the plant to get rid of it, it had tag from Proven Winners. I have attached the picture. Also, when I researched about honeysuckle, it did mention the non-fragrant species have a hole which can be seen when the stem is cut and it is true with this species. When I informed this unprofessional business to Jeanine Standard of PW she wrote," We are sorry to hear about your disappointment, but I have this vine in my garden and have noticed the scent each year. It may not be as strong as the honeysuckle scent you experienced with another type of plant. But the scent is noted on our plant information page, and I have also experienced it." read more

The shippment of my order of two plant is delayed, it is very difficult to get in touch whith a real person, not an answering mashine, so I left two messages for Cindy on a phone number they have on their webpage - no reaction, I sent them a letter with questions about my order status - nothing in response. At last I found a phone number which has a person at the other end and hopefully I'm going to get my plants. It is a bad experience, I won't order from Proven Winners on mail again. read more
