After two less-than-five-minute phone calls, Ben cussed me out on the phone for "refusing to show him any money" before asking questions, even after I offered to pay him for his time, and ultimately hung up on me after I simply requested his availability. We were seconds from informing him that we intended to appoint him as the appraiser for a case but very quickly changed our position. This abrasive client service is deplorable and I advise anybody who is in search of a reasonable appraiser to look elsewhere. I would sooner hire a kindergartener to conduct an appraisal than pay this man for his disgusting temperament.

I initially went to a standard jeweler to get a custom quote and was told it would start at $2.5k AND they would only use the large stone because the others were "too small." I had a family member who worked with Leo years ago, and my sister reminded me about custom work she did for her as well and recommended I reach out to him and see what he could do. Leo was very prompt in answering my call, said he would likely be able to use my stones was and excited about working together. When we got together I brought all my jewelry I wanted to either use or trade, showed him pictures of a few rings I liked, and talked about the styles I liked. He sketched out a design that we then edited a bit together, and then a week or so later sent the mock up for me to approve. After that it took about 3 more weeks for the ring to be ready. The actual ring is stunning, comfortable, and such a special and unique piece. I opted to wear just this is one ring as a sort of joint wedding/engagement ring rather than have two rings since it's pretty substantial on its own. All in all the experience was great, it was more affordable than I had imagined, and the ring is more beautiful than I had expected. Leo himself is so kind, creative, and fun to work with and I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone looking for a custom piece!
